Since the cornea is the main responsible for the refraction of the eye, as its refractive power is greater than 70% of the total refraction of the eye, so modification of its refractive properties are used to change the optical system of the eye. Hence, laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis has become the most commonly procedure used to correct the refractive errors of the eye. The most important step in laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis is the creation of the corneal flap, which its thickness may judge the whole outcome of the surgery . So trying to minimize the variation in the thickness of the resultant flap in comparison to what planned flap thickness preoperatively become our target.

This study evaluate the efficacy of adding popliteal sciatic nerve block with low concentration bupivacaine and dexamethasone to abductor canal block for total knee arthroplasty in patient with NSAIDs prescribing precaution. Half of participants will receive popliteal sciatic nerve block, abductor canal block and periarticular injection, while the other half will receive a sham block, abductor canal block and periarticular injection.

This study focuses on detection and natural history management of lung nodule and lung cancer with AI assisted chest CT among people living in North China, and aims to investigate epidemiological results, patients' medical records and social psychological status.

Gestational trophoblastic tumors are characterized by their development from placental tissue and their high invasive and metastatic potential. These are rare tumors (1/50 000 pregnancies) affecting young women for whom conservative fertility treatments are preferred. The therapeutic strategy is based on a chemotherapy whose choice of protocol is based on a clinico-biological score, FIGO score, which includes tumor size, gonadotropic chorionic hormone level used as quantitative tumor marker, number and localization. metastases. A FIGO score ≤6 allows the use of monochemotherapy (methotrexate) with a 5-year survival of approximately 99.7%. Scores of 7 to 12 and ≥13 require multidrug therapy (EMA-CO) and are associated with 5-year survival of 95.1% and 61.6%, respectively. The chemotherapies currently used for the treatment of trophoblastic tumors have been described between the 1950s (methotrexate) and the 1980s (EMA-CO) and have a well documented toxicity regarding the risk of secondary tumors, early menopause or even death by toxicity. . To date, apart from the FIGO score, there is no predictor of resistance to chemotherapy in gestational trophoblastic tumors. However, among patients with a FIGO score ≤6 and receiving methotrexate in the first line, 9 to 46% will have a resistance and require a second line of treatment. Similarly, if the score is ≥7, 10 to 30% of patients receiving EMA-CO will require at least a second line of multidrug therapy. The hypothesis of PrediCTTro study is that tissue samples of gestational choriocarcinoma present a transcriptomic profile associated with the risk of further resistance to single or multiagent chemotherapy. The objective of PrediCTTro is to identify a transcriptomic signature able to predict resistance to single or multiagent chemotherapy.

Efficacy of Topical Gentamycin for Hereditary Hypotrichosis Simplex Caused by Nonsense Mutations in CDSN

The scalp-limited for of hereditary hypotrichosis simplex (HHS; MIM146520) is an autosomal dominant form of non-syndromic alopecia which is caused by heterozygous nonsense mutations in the CDSN gene, encoding corneodesmosin (1). The disease features diffuse gradual scalp hair loss that starts in the middle of the first decade of life and progresses to total alopecia till the third decade of life. Recent studies have shown that aminoglycosides have the potential to induce readthrough of nonsense mutations in human cells. The aim of this study is to investigate whether topical aminoglycosides (Gentamycin) may be beneficial for the treatment of HHS patients carrying nonsense mutations by inducing readthrough. The Study goals: To assess the short and long term efficacy of topical gentamycin for the treatment of hereditary hypotrichosis simplex caused by nonsense heterozygous mutations in CDSN. The primary end point: To assess scalp hair growth during study period as compared to baseline. Hair growth will be evaluated during enrollment and every 4 weeks. The secondary end points will be time to regrowth for determining efficacy.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is inflammatory, demyelinating and autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. It is usually seen with relapses and genetic and environmental factors play a role in the etiology. Neurological symptoms seen in MS restrict the patient's daily activity and social role participation. Mobility problems and fatigue are the most important reasons of role limitations and decreased quality of life. The importance of exercise training in disease management has been emphasized in recent years. However, few studies have investigated the effects of task-oriented trainings on symptoms of the disease. The aim of this sudy is to investigate the effects of task-oriented training additional to combined exercise training on functional capacity, mobility, balance, fatigue and quality of life in patients with MS.
