NCT ID: NCT02127385 Not yet recruiting - Haptoglobin Type Clinical Trials

The Type of Hepatoglobin in IUGR

Start date: April 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Intra Uterine Growth Restriction is associated with increased oxidative stress. Haptoglobin (Hp) is an abundant plasma glycoprotein produced in the liver. The function of Hp is as anti oxidant agent, it binds free hemoglobin (Hb) released from red blood cells to decrease oxidative tissue damage. There are 3 differenet genotype of haptoglobin Hp 1-1 Hp 1-2 and Hp 2-2 with different anti oxidant properties and different prevalence ( Hp 1-1, Hp 1-2 and Hp 2-2approximately 16%, 48% and 36% respectively) . we hypotheise that IUGR will be more common and severe in the Hp 2-2 genotype with the less anti oxidant properties.

NCT ID: NCT02192801 Not yet recruiting - Proteinuria Clinical Trials

Kidney Function in Patients With Bladder Exstrophy

Start date: April 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Patients with classical bladder exstrophy undergo many surgical interventions with secondary urinary tract infections complicating their course. lately primary definitive surgical correction of this congenital anomaly has been implemented with satisfactory results. Although bladder exstrophy patients are born with normal kidneys, infectious and mechanical surgical complications can potentially damage their kidneys in the long-term. therefore we decided to evaluate renal function in the long-term in these patients.

NCT ID: NCT02672878 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Coronary In-stent Restenosis

Restenosis Intrastent: Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffolds Treatment (RIBS VI)

RIBS VI
Start date: April 2014
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Treatment of patients with in-stent restenosis (ISR) remains a challenge. This study will assess the efficacy of Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffolds (BVS) (Abbott Vascular) in the treatment of patients suffering from ISR.

NCT ID: NCT01955577 Not yet recruiting - Tibial Fracture Clinical Trials

Vitamin D Supplement for Patients With Tibial Fracture

Start date: April 2015
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose is to study: 1. the frequency of vitamin D deficiency at patients with tibial fracture treated with an external ring fixator 2. if vitamin D supplement facilitates fracture healing 3. a possible relation between vitamin D deficiency and the risk of complications and the time of fracture healing

NCT ID: NCT02083471 Not yet recruiting - Cow's Milk Allergy Clinical Trials

Cow's Milk and Hen's Egg Hyposensitization in Adults

Start date: April 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Egg, milk and cereal allergies are the most important food allergies in Finnish children, the prevalence in western countries is 1-4 %. In some individuals food-allergy is maintained in to adulthood. Recent studies suggest that specific oral tolerance induction (SOTI) provides a treatment option in children with continuing allergy with high success rates. The study aims at specific oral tolerance induction in adults allergic to cow's milk or hen's egg. Oral immunotherapy involves taking very small amounts of the allergen, and slowly increasing the amount. Consequently, an elimination diet may be wholly or partially cancelled, without the fear of serious allergic reactions. Another aim is to explore changes in antibody-mediated and cell-mediated immune response to individual components of cow's milk and egg allergens during tolerance induction and compare these with the effect of the treatment.

NCT ID: NCT02326727 Not yet recruiting - Colonic Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Influence of Epidural Analgesia on Natural Killer Cell (NK) Activity After Colonic Cancer Surgery

Start date: April 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Regional anesthesia may decrease the release of endogenous opioids, increase Natural Killer cell (NK) function and decrease development of metastasis. The recent analysis of the Cancer Registry has noted an improved 5-year survival in patients who received epidural analgesia during surgery for colorectal carcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT02340494 Not yet recruiting - Breast Neoplasms Clinical Trials

An Online Enhanced Education Tool for Young Women Newly Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Start date: April 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This project proposes to develop and test an internet resource - a supported self-management website - that will guide younger women to relevant knowledge and resources, and provide tools that will help YWBC become more skilled and confident in coping with the many challenges of breast cancer. The study will be conducted in collaboration with the newly funded, pan-Canadian Young Breast Cancer Cohort (CYBCC) program being led from Women's College Hospital. The resource is expected to reduce knowledge gaps experienced by YWBC, and help them be partners in decision-making about their care, which has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression years later.

NCT ID: NCT02346786 Not yet recruiting - Fractures Clinical Trials

Epidemiology of Incidents and Accidents in Sport. Influence of Moisture.

Start date: April 2015
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

sports accidents and incidents are relatively frequent. We hypothesize that the pursuit of good hydration, including days without training or competition could prevent their occurrence

NCT ID: NCT02347878 Not yet recruiting - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Self-control Trial to Evaluate the Role of Aprepitant in the Prophylaxis of Post-lumbar-punture-headache (PLPH)

Start date: April 2015
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Headache following a lumbar puncture (post-lumbar-puncture headache,PLPH)is a common and often debilitating syndrome, which was reported to occur in about 40% patients who received lumbar puncture. Now there lacks of effective approaches in the prophylaxis of PLPH, although some physicians consider bed rest for at least 6 hours to be a useful methods (Some recent meta-analysis found no benefit of bed rest for any hours in the prevention of PLPH). Studies have found that P substances and its receptor (Neurokinin-1 receptor, NK-1R)have played an important role in the pathogenesis of PLPH. Thus, we hypothesize that use of NK-1R inhibitor (aprepitant) 1 hour before lumbar puncture may decrease the incidence of PLPH and lower the severity of PLPH.

NCT ID: NCT02352649 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Peripheral Nerve Injury

Safety and Efficacy Study of Neovasculgen (Pl-VEGF165) Gene Therapy in Patients With Peripheral Nerve Injury

Start date: April 2015
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine safety and efficacy of pl-vegf165 ("Neovasculgen") for regeneration of peripheral nerve. Pl-vegf165 ("Neovasculgen") is the permitted in Russian Federation angiogenic medication that induce growth of new vessels and included in a complex therapy for patients with peripheral arterial diseases in Russia. It has also been shown to enhance nerve regeneration and muscle reinnervation in animals but these properties have not previously been studied in patients. Moreover, currently there is no method in clinical use to speed the rate of recovery after nerve injury. The objective of this study is to explore the ability of pl-vegf165 to benefit the treatment of patients with peripheral nerve injury. The investigators hypothesize that treatment with intraneural injections with pl-vegf165 after peripheral nerve reconstruction will accelerate nerve regeneration, reduce the period of denervation and improve muscle reinnervation and recovery in patients with peripheral nerve injury.
