NCT ID: NCT06296108 Completed - Arthroplasty Clinical Trials

Risk Factors for Acute Kidney Injury in Patients Undergoing Arthroplasty

Start date: June 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The authors aimed to determine the risk factors associated with postoperative acute kidney injury in patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty.

NCT ID: NCT05679947 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Mobilization Protocol for Knee Arthroplasty Patients

KA-Mobility
Start date: May 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized controlled study evaluates the effect of mobilization protocol applied to knee arthroplasty patients on anxiety level, pain, mobility and functional status.

NCT ID: NCT05332717 Completed - Clinical trials for Sleep Initiation and Maintenance Disorders

TKA Melatonin and Sleep Quality

Start date: January 10, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized controlled trial (RCT) will compare the effects of melatonin vs. placebo in patients undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This RCT aims to study the effects melatonin has on sleep quality after TKA. Patients will be blinded to their respective groups and will be instructed to take either 5mg melatonin or a placebo pill (Vitamin C) for 6 weeks postoperative. Sleep quality surveys will be administered preoperatively and post-operative week 6, 90-days and 1 year. Poor sleep quality is a common issue faced by patients undergoing TKA. The goal of this study is see if melatonin can improve postoperative sleep quality, and if so, does improved sleep quality correlate to improvements in other postoperative outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT05255198 Completed - Arthroplasty Clinical Trials

Anterior Minimal Invasive Surgery Versus Antero-lateral Approach in Hip Joint Hemiarthroplasty

Start date: May 1, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Comparison between two minimally invasive approaches to the hip joint.

NCT ID: NCT05248854 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Effects of Sensorimotor and Core Stabilization Exercises After Total Knee Arthroplasty

Start date: November 28, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Tha aim of the study is to investigate the effects of core stabilization and sensorimotor exercise program on range of motion, proprioception, balance and functional status in patients with total knee arthroplasty. The study lasts prospective randomized controlled trial. Participants were randomly divided into sensorimotor training (SM,n=17) and core stabilization training group (CS,n=19). The exercise training program was administered for home exercise as 3-5 times a week and for a 6-week duration.

NCT ID: NCT04660591 Completed - Arthroplasty Clinical Trials

Length of the Femoral Stem in Arthroplasty Done for Patients With Proximal Femoral Metastatic Lesion

Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Proximal femoral metastatic disease is a common cause of morbidity and mortality in cancer patients.protecting the entire femur using long nail or long femoral stem was hypothesized to prevent future fracture. However we believe that long stem isn't always necessary and won't decrease the complication rate.noting it's increased complication rate in this high risk patient category .

NCT ID: NCT04516239 Completed - Arthroplasty Clinical Trials

Comparison of Metal on Metal Total Hip Arthroplasty and Metal on Metal Total Hip Resurfacing.

Start date: September 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this double-blind prospective randomized study is to compare subjective outcome measures and gait parameters between conventional THA using large diameter femoral heads and total hip resurfacing

NCT ID: NCT04496440 Completed - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

An Attempt to Find Out Root Cause of a Pain Producing Knee Disease

Start date: March 23, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study was focused on a type of arthritis (knee) in which patients develop pain with disabilities in sitting and walking etc. In advance stage the person is bereft of his/her personal physical activities. The prevalent treatment is temporary and dis-satisfactory. A new treatment was designed and a trial was conducted on 125 patients (100 in the trial group, 25 in the control group) for a duration of six months.

NCT ID: NCT04403919 Completed - Arthroplasty Clinical Trials

Knotless Suture in Revision Total Joint Arthroplasty

Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Barbed suture has been demonstrated to be safe in primary hip and knee surgery and retrospective data suggests barbed suture represents no increased complications in the revision setting. Barbed suture may represent a faster, more effective way to perform revision arthroplasty closures. There are no Level I studies comparing traditional and barbed suture closure. The purpose of this study is to assess the surgical complexities of closures using closure time without sacrificing cosmesis or wound complications between the traditional closure and barbed closure.

NCT ID: NCT04398238 Completed - Iron-deficiency Clinical Trials

Transfusion Rates in Total Hip Replacement Before/After the Implementation of a Patient Blood Management Program.

pbm-hip
Start date: August 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Retrospective observational study: impact of a peri-operative patient blood management program (PBM) on transfusion rates of patients undergoing elective hip replacement.
