Filter by:The study included 120 male patients who would undergo a prostate biopsy. Patients were divided into 3 groups as placebo group (n = 40), Levander group (N = 40), and Frankincense group (n = 40). Aromatherapy agents were added to the nebulizer at a rate of 2%. Only saline solution was applied to the placebo group. The nebulizer was prepared and operated in the room where the prostate biopsy would be performed before the procedure. Patients were taken to the room 5 minutes before the procedure and the nebulizer was operated during the procedure. The level of anxiety was evaluated by the State Anxiety Inventory (STAI-I). After the procedure, the patient was rested and were again filled out the STAI-1 form. After that, the data of all the patients involved in the study was compared.
This study, which was designed as a randomized placebo-controlled experimental study, was conducted to determine the effect of inhalation aromatherapy with lavender essential oil on pain, anxiety and sleep quality in burn patients.
Aromatherapy is "highly distilled herbs distilled to take advantage of their therapeutic properties". is the science of using concentrated essential oils or essences".Essential oils or essences are obtained from various parts of plants (root, leaves, flowers, bark, fruit) and used therapeutically for physical and psychological well-being. This study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study. To evaluate the effects of aromatherapy, one of the non-pharmacological pain methods, on labor pain and anxiety in the active phase in primiparous pregnant women. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is ylang ylang oil applied as an inhaler effective in reducing labor pain and anxiety? Is lemon oil applied as an inhaler effective in reducing labor pain and anxiety? Participants randomized according to the closed envelope method into the lemon oil group (n=15), ylang ylang oil group (n=15) and control group (n=15). In the active phase (cervical dilatation ≥5), a drop of essential oil was instilled onto square cotton balls to the intervention groups and renewed as one drop every hour until labor occurred. In the control group, 1 drop of saline was dripped onto square cotton balls. Visual pain scale (VAS) and state anxiety ınventory were applied to the intervention groups and control groups before the application. After the application, VAS and state anxiety ınventory were evaluated at 5-7 cm dilatation, and only with VAS at 8-10 cm dilatation. The trait anxiety ınventory was administered to the volunteers after birth.
Pain experienced before and after surgery in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy adversely affects physiological parameters and sleep quality. This randomized controlled study was conducted to examine the effects of preoperative and postoperative inhalation lavender and geranium essential oil on patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy on pain, sleep, and physiological parameters. The study was completed with 3 groups and 150 people, namely the geranium oil group (n=50), lavender oil group (n=50) and control group (n=50). The ethics committee approval, informed consent of the individuals and the institutional permission were obtained. In the study, data were collected using the patient identification form, Richard-Campbell Sleep Scale and visual analog scale. Chi-square test, repeated measures one-way analysis of variance, and Spearman correlation analysis tests were used to assess the data. In the comparisons, the value of p<0.05 was accepted as significant.

The study aims to determine the effects of inhalation aromatherapy on pain and anxiety during the SWL protocol. This study included 120 patients who were scheduled to undergo SWL. Patients were randomly assigned a control placebo group 1 (n=40), the lavender group 2 (n=40), and the frankincense group 3 (n=40). The nebulizer (a rate of 2%) was prepared and operated on in the SWL room before the procedure. Data were collected using the visual analog scale (VAS) and the State Anxiety Inventory (STAI-I).
