NCT ID: NCT03400319 Completed - Clinical trials for Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in Adolescents With Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm

OSA in TAA
Start date: July 5, 2014
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of this prospective cohort study is to determine the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) in patients with and without thoracic aortic aneurysm.

NCT ID: NCT03246126 Completed - Clinical trials for Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms

Visceral Manifold Study for the Repair of Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms

Start date: November 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of an investigational device called the ValiantTM Visceral Manifold Thoracoabdominal Stent Graft System for the repair of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAA), which is a balloon-like bulge in the aorta (major artery leading away from your heart) that originates in your chest and extends to your abdomen and also includes the branch arteries that supply blood to the liver, spleen, intestine, kidneys and other organs in your abdomen. The word "investigational" means the device is still being tested and is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sale in the United States.

NCT ID: NCT03223311 Completed - Clinical trials for Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm

"Percutaneous Axillary Access in the Endovascular Treatment of Thoracoabdominal Aortic Pathology" (PAXA)

PAXA
Start date: August 28, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Since the development of custom-made fenestrated and branched endografts a novel therapeutic option for the management of thoracoabdominal and para-renal aortic aneurysms was made accessible. Because of the design of these branched endografts, an arterial vascular access from the upper limb is required to allow selective catheterization of the branch component and the respective target vessel (celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery, renal artery).2

NCT ID: NCT03214601 Active, not recruiting - Aortic Aneurysm Clinical Trials

Early Feasibility Study of the RelayBranch Thoracic Stent-Graft System

RelayBranch
Start date: December 4, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to conduct an early clinical evaluation of the Relay Branch System, which will provide initial insight into the clinical safety and function of the device. This Early Feasibility Study (EFS) will assess the safety and effectiveness of the device at the index procedure and at 30-day follow-up. The study will evaluate the delivery and deployment of the device, patency of branches and branch vessels, and exclusion of the aortic pathology. The data will help determine if modifications need to be made to the device, the procedural steps, operator technique, or the indications for use.

NCT ID: NCT03207568 Completed - Aortic Aneurysm Clinical Trials

RE-GENERATION: The Safety and Performance of the Relay Pro and Relay NBS Pro Stent-graft Devices in the European Union (EU)

RE-GENERATION
Start date: October 25, 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and performance of Relay Pro and Relay NBS Pro devices in humans having thoracic aortic pathologies. Clinical results will be used to apply for the CE certification.

NCT ID: NCT03142074 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms

Biomechanical and Microstructural Properties of Ascending Aortic Aneurysms

Start date: January 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

An aortic aneurysm (thoracic or abdominal) is a permanent dilatation of the aorta caused by weakening in the arterial wall. The feared complication is aortic rupture or dissection, leading to potentially lethal aortic bleeding and associated with mortality rates up to 95%. The current diagnosis criteria do not suffice, therefore the goal of this study is the development of an improved biomechanics-based and microstructural-based diagnostic tool.

NCT ID: NCT03113383 Terminated - Clinical trials for Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Visceral Manifold Study for the Repair of Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms

Start date: August 18, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of the clinical investigation is to assess the use of the the Visceral Manifold Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms (VTAAA) stent graft system to repair thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms in patients having appropriate anatomy. The primary intent of the study is to assess safety (i.e. freedom from major adverse events (MAE) at 30 days) and preliminary effectiveness (i.e., treatment success and technical success) of the device (i.e., the proportion of treatment group subjects that achieve and maintain treatment success at one year).

NCT ID: NCT03093857 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Investigation of the Cerebrospinal Fluid and Further Tissue Samples for Biomarker Indicating Spinal Ischemia and Organ Failure in Patients With Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm

TAAA
Start date: June 1, 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Patients with a thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm in need of an endovascular or open operative restructuring will be asked to participate in this study. After obtaining written consent a central venous catheter and a liquor drainage will be routinely placed during surgery. The catheter and the drainage will stay in the patients for at least 72 hours postoperatively. In total, nine measurements of the liquor and serum will be performed within a week in order to determine the following parameters: neuropeptide P, neuropeptide Y, neurofilament triplet protein (NFL), S100B, glial fibrillary protein (GFAp), lactate, glucose, or oxygen.

NCT ID: NCT03075748 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysms

Visceral Manifold Study for the Repair of TAAA

Start date: December 19, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The outcomes from prior clinical evaluation of the study device, including successfully treating 99% (84/85) of the intended target vessels and 96% (27/28) limb patency observed at one year, demonstrate the potential benefits of the device. When contrasted with open repair's significant complication rates and branch fenestrated device's significant anatomic and logistic limitations, the potential risk of the proposed novel graft does not outweigh the potential benefit of widened anatomic availability and improved patency rates. Given the potential benefits, the investigators feel that it is justified to expose the target patient population to the potential risk. The non-clinical testing performed by Medtronic and the clinical results reported by Sanford Health show adequate safety of the device to support an early feasibility study. The investigators would like to perform an early feasibility study under a defined and controlled protocol to collect prospective preliminary safety and device functionality data. The investigators believe an early feasibility study is most appropriate for this novel approach. The limited sample size allows adequate patient data to be collected under a controlled protocol without exposing a large patient population to the risk associated with a novel device design.
