View clinical trials related to Anxiety.
Filter by:The primary objective of the study is to test whether the tested Product LACIME Anti-hangover is effective in preventing the signs and symptoms of alcohol-induced hangover (such as headache, impaired memory, depression, anxiety, weakness, trouble sleeping and concentrating, nausea, dizziness, sleepiness, thirsty, dry mouth, sweating, sensitivity to light and sounds, vision problems) in healthy subjects.
This study is about assessing the impact of reading previous patients' stories related to their hip or knee replacement surgery on patients' preoperative anxiety and sleep. This provision of previous patients' stories is part of an ongoing perioperative QI project in the regional anesthesiology division.
The incidence of cesarean deliveries (CD) worldwide is increasing, around 30% in United States. Although very common surgery women undergoing non emergent CD still experience fear and anxiety. It is known that increased levels of stress can negatively affect pain perception and the usage of analgesics postoperatively as well as lactation. this present study investigate the effect of exposure to informative video before cesarean delivery on maternal anxiety.
The study will investigate possible effects of music therapy as an adjunct in an invasive cardiac procedure where infected or broken pacemaker leads, or leads from implantable cardioverter-defibrillators are removed from inside the heart through the vein. The procedure is performed in local anaesthesia with the patient awake. Analgesic and anxiolytic drugs are given at the start of the procedure, and repeated if needed. In spite of the drugs, most patients will experience som degree of pain and/or anxiety and increased stress during the procedure. The music therapy intervention contains individually facilitated music listening and coping techniques, aiming to regulate stress responses. The music listening and guidance is provided by a certified music therapist before, during and after the invasive procedure.
This study investigates he effects of intra-operative music on anxiety levels during procedures under spinal anaesthesia at a surgical centre in Cambodia. Participants will be randomly allocated to either the music (M) group or the 'control' (C) group. The M group will receive music played through headphones for the duration of the operation. The C group will receive no music or headphones. Anxiety will be measured in both groups, through a visual analogue scale (VAS), at the beginning of the operation and after 30 minutes of the procedure. Scores will be compared.
This pilot randomized clinical trial will randomize 60 participants 1:1 to either enhanced usual care or to adapted CETA, a counseling intervention for HIV care engagement plus depression, anxiety, PTSD, and/or substance use.
The investigators will recruit 60 family caregivers of older adults with cognitive impairment or dementia to participate in a pilot feasibility and acceptability trial of Mindfulness Coach, an mHealth mobile application that delivers mindfulness therapy. Mindfulness Coach is a self-guided mHealth intervention designed to help individuals learn MT, an evidence-based treatment to enhance health, wellness and mental health. The app also offers a library of information about MT (e.g., "how to anchor participants' attention"), 12 audio-guided mindfulness exercises, and a catalog of additional exercises available for free. In addition to collecting data about the feasibility and acceptability of Mindfulness Coach with caregivers of patients with dementia or cognitive impairment, the investigators will also collect data on preliminary efficacy of Mindfulness Coach at relieving symptoms of caregiver burden, anxiety, stress and depression.
This research project is a pragmatic, randomized evaluation of a quality improvement initiative which seeks to evaluate the effects of standardizing the use of a BH-VPN program among patients with a telepsychiatric consult. The outcomes evaluation of this intervention has been designed to integrate with routine care and minimize frontline staff burden by deploying an evaluation in a real-world setting.
Anxiety has been identified as a prevalent and significant co-morbid condition in patients with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) being treated with hemodialysis. In particular, anxious sensitivity to symptoms commonly experienced by dialysis patients may lead patients to prematurely terminate their dialysis sessions and may have consequences on their dialysis adequacy and overall quality of life. The proposed study will examine the relationships between anxiety, depression, quality of life, symptom burden and dialysis prescription adherence. The primary regression analyses will be used to predict the influence of anxiety and depression (independently and together) on measures of adherence behaviors.
The purpose of this study is to test an app-based mindfulness training program to see if it can reduce anxiety and burnout in physicians.
