Filter by:Exposure-based cognitive behavior therapy is an efficacious treatment for speech anxiety and has been delivered effectively in a virtual reality (VR) environment. The present study is designed to evaluate whether mood state moderates outcome to a brief VR exposure intervention.
The aim of the feasibility study is twofold: 1) to test the feasibility of the study design, and 2) to test the preliminary efficacy and the acceptability of a new iCBT intervention when delivered with different levels of therapist support. The feasibility trial will provide important information on the initial participant responses, and on how to properly collect data in the subsequent RCT. The feasibility trial is conducted as a randomized study with 16 participants consisting of two conditions: 1) guided iCBT, and 2) on-demand iCBT, both to be completed over a 14-week period. Participants in the guided iCBT condition will receive the new iCBT intervention with planned feedback after each completed module. Participants in the on-demand iCBT condition will receive the intervention with on-demand feedback that is participant-initiated. In both conditions, the therapist may spend a max. of 15 minutes giving feedback per module. As there is no evidence on what amount of therapist support is sufficient for adolescents, the allowed time spent giving feedback will not differ between the two conditions in the feasibility trial. Thus, data on engagement will be collected to inform how the two treatment conditions differ. The trial includes data points at pre-treatment (T1) and post-treatment (T2) where the same measures will be administered as are planned in the RCT. Acceptability of the intervention will be investigated by conducting semi-structured interviews with the participants. The interview will include an evaluation of the intervention, client satisfaction and potential reasons for drop out. The results from the feasibility trial will be used to inform the subsequent RCT and to revise the intervention, procedures, and conditions if needed.
This study will be conducted to determine the effect of music therapy on pain and anxiety following coronary angiography in patients in intensive care. 60 patients who underwent coronary angiography will be randomized and divided into experimental (n = 30) and control (n = 30) groups. "Personal Data Form", "Pain Visual Analog Scale (Pain-VAS)", "Anxiety Visual Analog Scale (Anxiety-VAS)" and "Richmond Agitation and Sedation Scale (RASS)" were used to collect data. While participants in the experimental group will be given a problem-solving training program, no intervention will be made to the control group. The data in the control and experimental groups will be distributed homogeneously.
The goal of this observational study is to compare socio-demographic and clinical features in patients affected by Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and by Panic Disorder (PD). The main questions it aims to answer are: - which socio-demographic/clinical markers are associated to GAD or PD diagnosis? - which factors are associated with a longer duration of untreated illness (DUI) in GAD and in PD? Participants will signed a written informed consent and socio-demographic/clinical variables will be retrospectively collected. Researchers will compare GAD and PD groups in terms of socio-demographic and clinical features, including DUI, to better characterize the two disorders and to investigate factors associated to a longer DUI.

The present study aims to assess and compare the effectiveness of distraction technique using virtual reality glasses and white noise with basic behavior guidance techniques on dental anxiety in children with Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder.
Introduction: This prospective study aimed to assess the impact of olfaction on providing positive emotional responses and reducing dental anxiety and pain. Material: A randomized double-blinded controlled study was enrolled on female patients. The olfaction was stimulated via lavender essential oils. Patients were divided into lavender and control groups. Patients in lavender group inhaled 2 % lavender vapors. In control group, patients inhaled distal water vapors. The variables included pain, anxiety, and vital signs. Anxiety was measured through Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS) and Speilberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) questionnaires. Pain was evaluated through visual analog scales (VAS). Vital signs included the systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR), and oxygen saturation (Spo2). All variables were assessed before the intervention, 20 minutes after inhalation of vapors, and at the end of dental settings. The last evaluation was on the day after visits. P-values < 0.05 were considered significant.
The primary purpose of the study is to evaluate the potential effect of paroxetine on QTc interval following escalating doses in healthy participants. Participants with no history of cardiac abnormalities or mood disorders will be enrolled. During the study, participants will take paroxetine at three incremental dose levels. Participants will attend the clinic at screening, baseline, at the end of each dose level administration week, and a final study exit visit. While on treatment outside of clinic visits, participants will be followed-up via video-call. A concentration-QTc analysis will assess any potential correlation between paroxetine plasma concentration and QTc prolongation. In addition, the occurrence of any side-effects will be compared between on and off treatment.
this study was conducted in TAHER SFAR Hospital . it included 68 patients and it aims to evaluate the impact of virtual reality on patients undergoing upper limb surgery under regional anesthesia and evaluate the consumption of hypnotics during surgery , anxiety levels and patients satisfaction. this study contain 2 arms , each arm contain 34 patients . first arm received regional anesthesia and surgery under virtual reality using a VR gear . second arm received standard care
The goal of this observational study is to learn more about the relation between anxiety (assessed by GAD-7 questionnaire) and the nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (objectively measured by PUQE score). Participants will answer 2 questionnaires: (GAD-7) for anxiety; and (PUQE score) for nausea and vomiting.
