Filter by:The main objective of this RCT is to test the efficacy of an emotion regulation group program (i.e., ART program) in college students, compared to an active control group (i.e., relaxation program). Using multilevel analyses, we expect an improvement in anxious-depressive symptomatology for both groups. However, we expect the ART group to improve specifically on emotion regulation flexibility ability, and the last to be a mediative variable on mental health.
An association of fatigue with post-viral neuropsychological disturbs has been reported. Among patients hospitalized with COVID-19 there is an increased incidence of anxiety and depression symptoms. In addition, a quarter of patients experience at least mild symptoms of acute post traumatic stress disorder. (Mazza, M. G. et al 2020). The prevalence of chronic fatigue syndrome had a correlation with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in a study conducted after the outbreak of the COVID-19 in Iran (Silmani et al, 2021), that showed 5.8% of subjects suffering from PTSD after 6 months of SARS-CoV-2 infection onset. In this Study we propose to use a tool to quantify the degree of physical and psychological fatigue in post-COVID-19 patients, and assess the correlation of fatigue with the neuropsychiatric sequelae in hospitalized and non hospitalized patients.
MainRexult study aims to carefully evaluate a cohort of patients with schizophrenia and related disorder prescribed with the combination therapy with Abilify Maintena and Rexulti on its efficacy and tolerability in a real-life clinical setting.
Due to Covid-19, intensive care (ICU) patients are not allowed visitors or have severely restricted visiting. After being admitted to ICU most patients are unconscious or extremely weak and therefore cannot speak on a phone or video call to a family member. Before these visiting restrictions, family members of patients admitted to ICU as a result of being critically ill were already known to suffer significant psychological distress and may now face increased distress given they are unable to visit a loved one. Previous research demonstrates that keeping a paper diary has been found to be helpful for ICU patients and families. When lockdown measures were announced, NHS Scotland introduced video diaries as an emergency measure to try to support communication with families and reduce distress. vCreate is an NHS Trusted secure video messaging service that helps patients, families and clinical teams stay connected throughout their care journey. The use of video diaries may have a positive impact for family members but there is a risk that they could also have negative effects for some people. There is a need to explore both ICU healthcare professionals and family members' experiences of using video diaries. At the same time it is also important to test the feasibility and acceptability of measures of distress and psychological well-being on family members during and after their experience of video diaries. In doing so, some initial recommendations about video diaries can be made and a larger subsequent study planned to test their effect on family members and healthcare professionals.
A new pandemic appeared in early 2020, also known as the coronavirus (Covid-19), affecting all health systems worldwide. Medical and nursing staff make every effort to treat patients resulting in physical and psychological exhaustion, which is exacerbated by the lack of medical and nursing staff, the lack of protective equipment, the increased workload, and increased shifts. In this context, the surgeons had to contribute in turn, in order to help as much as they could in dealing with this new health crisis, as a result of which they find themselves in positions that are not on their subject or in their proper training and to handle patients with a dangerous and highly aggressive respiratory infection. This brought more psychological and physical stress to the surgeons. The pandemic of Covid-19 is not known to be a purely surgical condition, but many patients with coronavirus require surgery due to an additional infection, condition, or complication. The design of this research will be observational and quantitative. Quantitative design involves the provision of numerically coded and analytical measurements, such as self-report questionnaires. The purpose of this cross-sectional research is primarily to record the levels of stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms of Greek surgeons, and their lifestyle. Secondary to correlate the stress levels with socio-demographic data and their lifestyle with other parameters of the study.
The investigators planned to analyze the effect of Covid-19 fear and anxiety on the daily life, sleep quality and depression-anxiety levels of fibromyalgia patients.
The effect and impact of postponing cardiac surgery / creating a waiting list as a result of COVID-19 on patients, both psychologically and symptomatically on three groups of patients: 1. The degree of anxiety and/or depression induced by their altered medical care trajectory. 2. The incidence of medical problems induced by deferred elective surgery or delayed postoperative ambulatory visit 3. The occurrence of reduced access to medical and psychological help
This study seeks to correlate microbiome sequencing data with information provided by patients and their medical records.
Phase 1 (started in July 2019): Central Sensitization Inventory (CSI), Fear-Avoidance Components Scale (FACS), pain-pressure threshold are factors associated with chronic post-hysterectomy pain (CPHP), but a complete understanding on the development of CPHP is lacking. The study aims to identify clinically-relevant factors for CPHP that can be reliably assessed preoperatively. === Phase 2 (anticipated start May 2022): In addition to above factors, the association between heart rate variability (HRV) parameters, anxiety level, anticipated pain, and anticipated analgesia requirement with significant postoperative pain and CPHP will be investigated.
