NCT ID: NCT04915196 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Iron Deficiency Anemia

Tolerability of Iron Therapy in Women With AUB

Start date: July 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Telephone surveys of female patients using liposomally-bound iron and traditional iron sulphate preparations for the management of iron deficiency anemia to determine gastrointestinal tolerability.

NCT ID: NCT04800042 Not yet recruiting - Diagnostic Clinical Trials

Study of the Prevalence of Iron Deficiency in Patients With Scheduled Major Surgery (CARENFER PBM)

CARENFER-PBM
Start date: March 15, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Many patients who are candidates for scheduled major surgery have a pre-operative iron deficiency which is poorly diagnosed. The management of per-operative iron deficiency is a part of the concept of the "Patient Blood Management", which is a concept recommended by health regulatory agencies in many countries. The objective of this study is to obtain updated data on the prevalence of iron deficiency in France in patients undergoing a scheduled major surgery, applying the French recommendations (determination of ferritinemia and Transferrin Saturation Factor).

NCT ID: NCT04786769 Not yet recruiting - Aortic Stenosis Clinical Trials

Iron Supplementation in TAVI and SAVR Patients With Iron Deficiency

INERTIA
Start date: January 2022
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The INERTIA trial is a multicenter double-blinded randomized trial of intravenous iron supplementation in patients with severe aortic stenosis and iron deficiency undergoing TAVI or SAVR. The primary endpoint is the time to HF hospital admission or cardiovascular death. Secondary endpoints will assess quality of life indicators and functional capacity at 6 months.

NCT ID: NCT04649411 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Iron Deficiency Anemia Associated With Non-Dialysis Dependent Chronic Kidney Disease

Study to Evaluate the Safety and Tolerability of KRX-0502 (Ferric Citrate) in Children With Iron Deficiency Anemia Associated With Non-Dialysis Dependent Chronic Kidney Disease

Start date: January 2025
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will be conducted to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ferric citrate in pediatric participants with iron deficiency anemia (IDA) associated with non-dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease (NDD-CKD).

NCT ID: NCT04642521 Not yet recruiting - Anemia Clinical Trials

Association Between Anaemia and Handgrip Strength in Female Planned for Major Surgery and the Effect of Intravenous Iron on Handgrip Strength

Start date: November 18, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a sub-study parallel to ProPBM : A Randomised Control Trial Comparing a Modified Patient Blood Management Protocol Against Standard Care for Patients Undergoing Major Surgery (NCT03888768). Only female participants of ProPBM will be included in this sub-study. Association between anaemia and handgrip strength and the effect of intravenous iron therapy as part of ProPBM protocol within female participants is elucidated in this study.

NCT ID: NCT04616092 Not yet recruiting - Surgery Clinical Trials

Effect of Preoperative Intravenous Ferric Carboxymaltose for Clipping Surgery

PICASA
Start date: November 2020
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Hypothesis: Correction of preoperative anemia can reduce the need for intra-/postoperative RBC transfusions and can improve surgical outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT04510870 Not yet recruiting - Infertility Clinical Trials

Iron Deficiency as an Ignored Cause of Infertility

IDI
Start date: August 17, 2020
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Iron deficiency may play a critical role in human infertility, oocyte quality and may even play a role in endometrial receptivity. By correcting iron deficiency, low ferritin values, in infertile women with intravenous iron supplementation, embryo quality and pregnancy rates may improve. The main objective is to evaluate the effect of intravenous iron supplementation on embryo quality (number of good quality blastocysts). Randomized, double blind, parallel group, cross-over study of ferric carboxymaltose compared to placebo (NaCl infusion).

NCT ID: NCT04486456 Not yet recruiting - Prevalence Clinical Trials

Epidemiological Study on Anemia and Iron Deficiency in Pregnancy in Medical Institutions in Some Areas of China

Start date: August 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to describe the prevalence of anemia and iron deficiency in pregnancy through a multi-center, prospective follow-up study . To explore the influence factors of anemia and iron deficiency in pregnancy; to explore the influence of anemia and iron deficiency in pregnancy on maternal and fetal outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT04253652 Not yet recruiting - Constipation Clinical Trials

Investigating the Effects of Iron on the Gastrointestinal Tract

GI-iron
Start date: March 9, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Many patients that are prescribed iron report gastrointestinal side effects. This research project aims to investigate if the gastrointestinal symptoms of taking iron supplementation are related to changes in gases produced by bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract.

NCT ID: NCT04168346 Not yet recruiting - Gastric Cancer Clinical Trials

Preoperative Intravenous Iron Therapy in Patients With Gastric Cancer

IRONSTOMACH
Start date: November 2019
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The main objective of this investigator initiated study is to study if preoperative intravenous iron is effective in reducing need for allogenic blood transfusion in patients with gastric cancer who will undergo a standardized gastrectomy including both total and subtotal gastrectomies. The hypothesis is that intravenous iron reduces the need for perioperative blood transfusions.
