NCT ID: NCT04492098 Completed - Miscarriage Clinical Trials

Mucosal-Associated Invariant T Cells in Cases of Miscarriage

Start date: June 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Miscarriage is the most frequently encountered complication of pregnancy ranging from 10% to 30%. The etiology of recurrent spontaneous miscarriage (RSM) in 40%-50% of cases cannot be identified. Immunological disturbances have been suggested to play an important role. Previous studies have focused that women with miscarriage have elevated NK cell numbers and activity both in the periphery and in the endometrium. Also, NK cells in women with RSM displayed an imbalance of Killer cell Ig-like receptors (KIRs) in favor of activating KIR leading to an unbalanced activation of dNK cytotoxicity and higher risk of miscarriage.

NCT ID: NCT04455256 Completed - Clinical trials for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Evaluation of Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Patients With Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Start date: March 20, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To evaluate endoplasmic reticulum stress in women with recurrent pregnancy loss and those who had healthy births in the same age group. The level of the unfolded protein X box binding protein 1 (XBP-1) is measured. It is aimed to show the effect of endoplasmic reticulum stress on recurrent pregnancy loss.

NCT ID: NCT04446572 Completed - Clinical trials for Infertility Unexplained

Application of Lactobacillus Salivarius CECT5713 in Infertility of Unknown Origin

Start date: October 16, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

In this study, we aimed to assess the cervicovaginal environment (pH, Nugent score, soluble immune factors and bacterial profile) in women with reproductive failure because of either repetitive abortion or infertility of unknown origin and compare it to that of healthy fertile women. The second objective was to evaluate the ability of Lactobacillus salivarius CECT5713 to modulate such parameters and to increase pregnancy rates in women with reproductive failure. The administration of L. salivarius CECT5713 (~9 log10 colony-forming units (CFU)/day) for 6 months or until a diagnosis of pregnancy to women with reproductive failure resulted in an overall successful (term) pregnancy rate of 56%.

NCT ID: NCT04410029 Completed - Clinical trials for Early Pregnancy Loss

Evaluation of a Decision Aid for Early Pregnancy Loss

Start date: July 29, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to determine the effect of the Healthwise decision aid on shared decision making in women undergoing management of early pregnancy loss.

NCT ID: NCT04387994 Completed - Infertility, Female Clinical Trials

Determination of Circulating Placental Biomarkers Levels to Predict the Pregnancy Outcome of First Trimester After IVF.

Start date: June 12, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study will assess the predictive potential of circulating placental biomarkers for spontaneous miscarriage within the following month in an IVF setting. It is hypothesized that a robust algorithm including one or more of these biomarkers may allow for the accurate same-day distinction between women with a low and high risk of a spontaneous miscarriage.

NCT ID: NCT04361747 Completed - Clinical trials for Care in Women With History of Recurrent Miscarriage

Nursing Counseling on Stress and Depression for Women With Recurrent Miscarriage

Start date: October 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Recurrent miscarriage is a frustrating event for couples. The purpose of this randomized, controlled trial was to examine the effectiveness of nursing counseling on sleep quality, depression, stress, and social support in women with recurrent miscarriage (RM). Sixty-two eligible women were randomly assigned to the experimental group (n = 31) or the control (n = 31) group. The experimental group received routine care and three sessions of nursing counseling during the 12-week prenatal genetic testing stage, while the control group received routine care only. Outcome measures included the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Edinburgh Prenatal Depression Scale, Perceived Stress Scale, and Interpersonal Support Evaluation List. Paired sample t-tests were conducted before and after nursing counseling to measure whether there were any statistically significant changes in outcome variables.

NCT ID: NCT04228263 Completed - Clinical trials for Unexplained Recurrent Miscarriage

Hydroxychloroquine and Unexplained Recurrent Miscarriage

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Recurrent miscarriage affects women of childbearing age worldwide. Vascular endothelial dysfunction and immunological impairment are associated with recurrent miscarriage To date, there is no effective or optimal therapeutic approach for these condition. Hydroxychloroquine has endothelial protective action via ant diabetic, lipid lowering, antioxidant effects or direct endothelial protection. Hydroxychloroquine is an antimalarial and immunomodulatory agent. In pregnancy, hydroxychloroquine is prescribed for inflammatory conditions associated with adverse perinatal outcomes such as systemic lupus erythematosus, antiphospholipid syndrome and placental inflammatory lesions such as chronic histiocytic intervillositis, hydroxychloroquine has therapeutic potential to improve placental function in pregnancies associated with heightened inflammation.

NCT ID: NCT04217200 Completed - Clinical trials for Miscarriage Threatening

Pregnancy Dating Test - The Fall of hPL in Urine Over Time

Start date: February 19, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Earlier studies describe the half-life of hPL in serum as being ninety minutes and that the hormone is excreted unchanged in urine; consequently, there is real potential to use the fall in hormone levels in urine to monitor bleeding in pregnancy, the outcome of natural and artificial abortions or placental health. This study will focus on the fall of hPL following delivery by Caesarean section when women have a urinary catheter in place and sampling urine is simple to achieve.

NCT ID: NCT04190043 Completed - Miscarriage Clinical Trials

Womens's Experiences of Pregnancy Loss Aftercare in the Gynecological Emergency

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Introduction: Scientific papers on the womens's experiences of pregnancy loss aftercare in the emergency department show that how announcement is made and how much caregivers show empathy to women, help women to face this difficult moment. However, in most studies, women say they did not have enough information nor support from the medical teams. Diagnosis of miscarriage in the emergency department is the routine for the caregiver but is often experienced by the woman as the loss of a child. This study has for goal to bring to light the discrepancy between the caregivers's experience and the women's experience :the given information, the time for consultation, the empathy. Methods : 2 months after the diagnosis of miscarriage in the emergency room, patients receive a phone call with explanations about the project. If the patient gives her consent, she receives a computer questionnaire by email (questions about : reasons for coming to the emergency room, circumstances of announcement, information given in the emergency room, satisfaction with the careā€¦) In parallel, caregivers have to complete a questionnaire about the same parameters. The main objective of this study is to evaluate womens's experiences of pregnancy loss aftercare in the emergency department of Montpellier Hospital. The second objective is to assess the discrepancy between the patient's experience and the caregivers' experience in this situation with the aim of suggesting improvement.

NCT ID: NCT04181541 Completed - Medical Abortion Clinical Trials

Start date: February 17, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of second trimester medical abortion when provided by nurse midwives compared with physicians. The study sample will be obtained from Michu Clinic, affiliated with St Paul's hospital, in Addis Ababa.
