View clinical trials related to Venous Thrombosis.

The investigators' goal is to understand for what types of clinical questions real world data analyses can be conducted with confidence and how to implement such studies.
This clinical trial is designed to evaluate if the periodic screening for deep venous thrombosis by ultrasound of lower extremity in patients with intensive care unit (ICU) patients with COVID 19 impacts on mortality, ICU stay and total length of stay in the hospital, along with other outcomes.
The aim of this study was to investigate whether NETs markers can enhance procoagulant activity and predict portal vein thrombosis in patients with live cirrhosis, so as to establish a novel predictor to guide clinical decision-making.So we recruit liver cirrhosis with portal vein thrombosis and without portal vein thrombosis treated at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University and collection of blood samples.
Venous thromboembolism, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), has long been recognized as the most frequent complication within 7 to 14 days after orthopedic surgery, especially total joint arthroplasty. Without prophylactic therapy, the incidence of DVT and pulmonary embolism reaches up to 60% following orthopedic surgery. The possible damage to the vessel wall during the operation, the venous stasis caused by long-term bed rest, and the hypercoagulability of the blood after the surgery are the 3 main reasons for the formation of DVT. In most cases, the thrombi resolve spontaneously; however, some of them (about 1~4%) may develop into symptomatic and even fatal DVT. Ankle pumping exercise is currently suggested for the patients with joint placement surgery to prevent the formation of lower-extremity DVT after orthopedic surgery. However, the compliance of the exercise at home is unclear. In order to remind the patients to the active ankle exercise and record the executive rate, a device was developed to help the patient to exercise in the hospital and at home. The device will remind the patient to exercise at specific time point by verbal and vibrations, and detect the range of motion during the exercise for further analysis. The aim of this study is to access the effect of a non-invasive novel device in preventing the formation of lower limb DVT. Maximum venous outflow, maximum venous capacity, and blood rheology were measured and the incidence of DVT was recorded for the data analysis.
The investigators aimed to verify the efficacy and safety of nadroparin calcium warfarin sequential (NWS) anticoagulation therapy after endoscopic therapy in PVT patients with cirrhosis and AVB.
This study aims to investigate the incidence of venous thromboembolism in people who are diagnosed with atopic dermatitis.
A 1-year analysis of global selected stroke metric data will be conducted comparing the results during the Covid-19 pandemic to the pre-pandemic period. In most countries, this will correspond to March 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021. In some countries, the pandemic period would be adjusted for onset of case surge (i.e. China pandemic start date would begin earlier, i.e. January 2020). The specific metrics that will be analyzed include: 1. ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attacks (TIA) hospitalizations 2. intracranial hemorrhage hospitalizations 3. cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) hospitalizations (with or without thrombocytopenia) 4. CVT in-hospital mortality 4) aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage hospitalizations 5) mechanical thrombectomy 6) intravenous thrombolysis 7) ruptured aneurysm endovascular coiling 8) ruptured aneurysm clipping. 9) aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage admissions 10) SAH in-hospital mortality 11) SAH presentation by Hunt Hess Grade
The overall goal of the VVIRTUOSO study is to determine the incidence of VTE including symptomatic DVT and PE after hospital discharge in patients with COVID-19 by implementing a pragmatic patient-centred prospective virtual VTE monitoring program in Canada and the United States.
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common malignant disease in childhood. Today more than 90% of children and 75% of adults (18-45 years) survive ALL. The enzyme Asparaginase (Asp) is an indispensable part of the multiagent treatment of ALL. Treatment related severe acute toxicities are common. Especially in teenagers and adults, thromboembolism is one of the most common acute toxicities and may result in post thrombotic syndrome (PTS) or pulmonary hypertension. The knowledge about these late effects is limited, including for ALL patients.
Venous thromboembolism (VTE - blood clots that form in deep veins or in the lungs) has been identified as a leading cause of death in economically developed countries for pregnant and recently-pregnant women. There is evidence that clotting parameters can take up to 6 weeks to return to normal for women who have had term deliveries, however there is an absence of information on time taken for clotting parameters to normalise following abortion. As such, existing guidelines are based solely on expert opinion and recommend durations of VTE prevention from as short as 7 days, up to 6 weeks following abortion. All women are assessed for risk of VTE, but data are needed to inform an evidence-based approach to prevention of VTE in these women. The findings from this pilot study have the potential to inform clinical guidance and possibly a larger study subsequently.
