Filter by:The purpose of the study is to evaluate the role of hypofractionated in the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer. The study will be conducted in Honduras and Mexico, and patients will be randomized to a standard fraction (45 Gy in 25 fractions) or hypofractionated (37.5Gy in 15 fractions) followed by surgery. Patients will receive weekly cisplatin with their treatments at 40 mg/m2. Response rate, survival, and toxicity will be evaluated.
This is a multi-center, prospective, non-randomized, confirmatory study to evaluate the safety and performance of the Biop Digital Colposcope and the accuracy of the image registration procedure between the Biop Digital Colposcope unit and the Biop Micro Colposcope probe unit.
This study examines sentinel lymph node tissue from early stage cervical cancer patients treated with radical hysterectomy and removal of pelvic sentinel lymph nodes (SLN). SLNs are tested for the presence of human papilloma virus (HPV), and results are compared to the HPV-type found in the patients cervical tissue. We hereby examine whether pathologic status of SLNs in patients with early-stage cervical cancer correlates to the HPV status in the SLNs. By means of an up to 5-years follow-up period, we furthermore examine whether cervical cancer recurrence correlates to the histopathologic status of the SLNs and/or the SLN HPV status. This will contribute to the clarification on whether HPV status of the SLNs plays a crucial role for predicting LN metastasis of cervical cancer and also, whether the HPV status in SLNs may have a clinical value as a prognostic factor for disease recurrence in cervical cancer patients and perhaps even a better clinical value than SLN mapping.
This multi-center, randomized controlled study aims to compare the survival outcomes (including overall survival, progression-free survival and disease-free survival between Chinese uterine cervical patients receiving different surgical routes (laparotomy and laparoscopy) for radical hysterectomy or trachelectomy, which is the primary study objective. All patients with uterine cervical cancer of FIGO stage IA1 (with lymphovascular space invasion), IA2 and IB1 will be included and randomized into two groups: laparotomy and laparoscopy groups for radical hysterectomy or trachelectomy. Secondary study objectives include: patterns of recurrence, treatment-associated morbidity (6 months from surgery), cost-effectiveness, pelvic floor function, and quality of life.
This multi-center longitudinal study aims to compare the survival outcomes (including overall survival, progression-free survival and disease-free survival between uterine cervical patients receiving different surgical routes (vaginal, laparotomy and laparoscopy), which is the primary study objective. All clinical and pathological data would be retracted from case reviews, and all survival data would be reached by clinic, telephone and mail follow-up. This study also would analyze the impact on survival outcomes of other factors, including nerve-sparing techniques, neoadjuvant chemotherapy, neoadjuvant radiotherapy and infection of human papillomavirus. The predictive effects of different following protocol and imaging plans will be also compared. Last, the influences of surgical routes on the fertility outcomes (pregnancy and its complications) and the ovarian reserve are important secondary study objectives.
This phase I trial studies how well atezolizumab before and/or with standard of care chemoradiotherapy works in immune system activation in patients with stage IB2, II, IIIB, or IVA cervical cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as atezolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving atezolizumab before and/or with chemoradiotherapy may lower the chance of tumors growing or spreading.
This research is being done to learn more about whether or not Korean American women will improve the screening practices for breast and cervical cancer if subjects receive education and follow-up from community health workers. The education materials may be given via online or in-person. Primary Hypothesis: e-CHEC-uP will be as efficacious as the original CHEC-uP in promoting mammogram and Pap test screening among Korean immigrant women (KIW) at 6 months. Objectives: (1) To develop a web-based platform of the health literacy education component of the original CHEC-uP intervention; (2) To evaluate the acceptability and usability of the web version of the health literacy education in a user testing sample of 10 KIW; and (3) To conduct a pilot study to test the preliminary efficacy of the web version of CHEC-uP (e-CHEC-uP) in 40 KIW.
Prospective study which will recruit participants when they attend for a routine cervical screening. The study will evaluate the use of CINtec PLUS for triage of human papillomavirus (HPV) positive participants in HPV primary screening.
The purpose of the RACC trial is to compare the oncologic outcome defined as recurrence-free survival (RFS) between robot-assisted and open radical hysterectomy for the treatment of early stage cervical cancer.
The purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy and costs of this patient-centered approach ("Choice" between two cervical cancer screening modalities) in adherence to cervical cancer screening as compared to the current standard of care within the public health system in Mississippi (Pap test at the local department -"Pap") among un/under-screened African American women in the Mississippi Delta using a theory-based, culturally relevant intervention implemented by Peer Health Educators (PHEs).
