Letrozole and Imatinib Mesylate in Treating Postmenopausal Participants With Estrogen or Progesterone Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer

Phase II Study of Letrozole (Femara) Plus Imatinib Mesylate (Gleevec) for Postmenopausal Patients With ER and/or PR Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer

This phase II trial studies the side effects and how well letrozole and imatinib mesylate work in treating postmenopausal participants with estrogen or progesterone positive breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Letrozole is an antihormonal drug used in the standard treatment of hormonal sensitive breast cancer. Imatinib mesylate is a drug that binds to certain proteins on the tumor cells and prevents them from further growth. Imatinib mesylate is thought to prevent the potential resistance to letrozole, which may make the letrozole more effective. Giving letrozole and imatinib mesylate may work better in treating participants with breast cancer.

Zoledronic Acid - Letrozole Adjuvant Synergy Trial (ZFAST) - Cancer Treatment Related Bone Loss in Postmenopausal Women With Estrogen Receptor Positive and/or Progesterone Receptor Positive Breast Cancer Receiving Adjuvant Hormonal Therapy

An Open-Label, Randomized, Multicenter Study to Evaluate the Use of Zoledronic Acid in the Prevention of Cancer Treatment-Related Bone Loss in Postmenopausal Women With Estrogen Receptor Positive and/or Progesterone Receptor Positive Breast Cancer Receiving Letrozole as Adjuvant Therapy

This protocol is designed to compare the effect on bone of Zoledronic Acid 4 mg every 6 months when given upfront versus delayed start (based on a post-baseline BMD T- Score below -2.0 SD at either the lumbar spine or total hip, or any clinical fracture unrelated to trauma, or an asymptomatic fracture discovered at the month 36 scheduled visit) in stage I-IIIb postmenopausal women with hormone receptor positive breast cancer who will receive Letrozole 2.5 mg daily as an adjuvant therapy.

Zoledronic Acid in the Prevention of Cancer Treatment Related Bone Loss in Postmenopausal Women Receiving Letrozole for Breast Cancer.

An Open-Label, Randomized, MultiCenter Study to Evaluate the Use of Zolendronic Acid in the Prevention of Cancer Treatment-Related Bone Loss in Postmenopausal Women With Estrogen Positive and/or Progesterone Positive Breast Cancer Receiving Letrozole as Adjuvant Therapy

Post-menopausal breast cancer patients will receive letrozole 2.5 mg daily for the treatment of breast cancer and will be randomized to a treatment group to receive either upfront zoledronic acid 4 mg IV 15-minute infusion every 6 months or delayed start zoledronic acid 4 mg IV 15-minute infusion every 6 months. Delayed start zoledronic acid will be initiated when either the Bone Mineral Density T-score is below -2 Standard Deviations at either the lumbar spine or hip or any clinical fracture unrelated to trauma or an asymptomatic fracture discovered at the month 36 scheduled visit. Letrozole 2.5 mg will be given daily for 5 years.

Efficacy and Tolerability of Toremifene or Tamoxifen Therapy in Premenopausal Estrogen and Progesterone Receptor Positive Breast Cancer Patients

In premenopausal women, endocrine adjuvant therapy for breast cancer primarily consists of tamoxifen alone or with ovarian suppressive strategies. Toremifene is a chlorinated derivative of tamoxifen, but with a superior risk-benefit profile. In this trial, we sought to compare the efficacy and tolerability of toremifene and tamoxifen therapy in premenopausal patients with operable,estrogen and/or progesterone receptor positive breast cancer patients.

Sorafenib and Letrozole, Anastrozole, or Exemestane in Treating Postmenopausal Women With Estrogen Receptor-Positive and/or Progesterone Receptor-Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer

Phase II Randomized Study of Sorafenib Compared to Placebo When Administered in Combination With Aromatase Inhibitors for Postmenopausal Women With Metastatic Breast Cancer

RATIONALE: Sorafenib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor and by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Estrogen can cause the growth of breast cancer cells. Aromatase inhibition therapy using letrozole, anastrozole, or exemestane may fight breast cancer by lowering the amount of estrogen the body makes. It is not yet known whether sorafenib is more effective than a placebo when given together with letrozole, anastrozole, or exemestane in treating metastatic breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well sorafenib works compared with a placebo when given together with letrozole, anastrozole, or exemestane in treating postmenopausal women with estrogen receptor-positive and/or progesterone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer.

Letrozole, Herceptin in Her2neu +, Estrogen Receptor [ER] and/or Progesterone Receptor [PR] Positive, MBC

Phase II Trial of the Combination of Letrozole 2.5 mg Daily and Trastuzumab 2 mg/kg Weekly in ErbB2 Positive and Estrogen Receptor and/or Progesterone Receptor Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects (good and bad) that the combination of the drugs letrozole (also called Femara™) and trastuzumab (also called Herceptin®) has on breast cancer. The United States (US) Food and Drug Administration has approved both letrozole and Herceptin for the treatment of advanced breast cancer. Doctors hope that the combination will work better than either drug alone.

A Phase 1b Study of Berzosertib in Combination With Radiation Therapy to Overcome Therapeutic Resistance in Chemotherapy Resistant Triple Negative and Estrogen and/or Progesterone Receptor Positive, HER2 Negative Breast Cancer

This phase Ib trial studies the best dose of berzosertib when given together with the usual treatment (radiation therapy) in treating patients with triple negative or estrogen receptor and/or progesterone receptor positive, HER-2 negative breast cancer. Berzosertib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Radiation therapy uses high energy rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Giving M6620 and radiation therapy may kill tumor cells more effectively than radiation alone or shrink or stabilize breast cancer for longer than radiation therapy alone.

Exemestane With or Without ATN-224 in Treating Postmenopausal Women With Recurrent or Advanced Breast Cancer

A Cancer Research UK Randomised Phase II Trial of ATN-224 (Copper Binding Agent) in Combination With Exemestane Versus Exemestane Alone in Post-menopausal Women With Recurrent or Advanced, Oestrogen and/or Progesterone Receptor Positive Breast Cancer

RATIONALE: Exemestane may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. ATN-224 may stop the growth of breast cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. It is not yet known whether giving exemestane together with ATN-224 is more effective than giving exemestane alone in treating patients with recurrent or advanced breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying the side effects of exemestane given together with or without ATN-224 and to see how well it works in treating postmenopausal women with recurrent or advanced breast cancer.
