Reproductive Health of Couples of Childbearing Age: a Community Based Prospective Cohort Study

ReH-CP
Start date: July 26, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This community based prospective cohort study was established to investigate the fecundability of couples of childbearing age. Data are collected regarding age, body mass index, education, menstrual regularity as well as childbearing history. Results of routine examination of leucorrhea, blood glucose, liver function of the female spouse, and semen analysis of the male spouse are obtained from the National Free Pre-conception Check-up Projects (NFPCP) in China. Couples recruited will be followed every 6 months for at least 1 year, and their time to pregnancy as well as behavior of seeking medical care would be recorded. Blood sample and/or information of antral follicle count would be collected from participants who fail to conceive after 12 months of attempts.

NCT ID: NCT03867890 Completed - Sports Injury Clinical Trials

Relationship Between Footwear Consumer Behaviour and Lower Extremity Injuries

Start date: June 2012
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A prospective cohort study was set-up in leisure-time walkers and runners. Potential risk factors in consumer behaviour were obtained by means of a baseline questionnaire related to the acquisition of current walking or running shoes. Information on injuries sustained during a 24 week period after the baseline questionnaire was obtained in 104 runners and 104 walkers using a 2-weekly questionnaire.

NCT ID: NCT03789747 Completed - Acute Kidney Injury Clinical Trials

Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study was to report the incidence, severity and risk factors of acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients underwent craniocerebral operation and admitted into intensive care unit (ICU).

Chinese Pregnant Woman Cohort Study

Start date: July 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Purpose To determine the relationship between maternal lifestyle and obstetric and neonatal outcomes. Methods and analysis This is a multicentre, prospective, cohort study including more than 5000 participants in 24 hospitals in 12 provinces from July 2017 to July 2018 in China. Maternal lifestyle (environmental exposures, diet, physical activity, sleeping, psychology and economics) and metabolic status will be collected by the electronic self-administered questionnaire at the first, second and third trimesters and 42 days postpartum, respectively. Obstetric and neonatal outcomes and metabolic status recorded by a clinical research coordinator. Descriptive statistics will be used to investigate the outcomes of maternal and newborn across China. Logistical regression and covariance analysis will be used to determine the relationship between maternal lifestyle and obstetric and neonatal outcomes. SAS statistical software will be used for data analysis. Ethics and dissemination Permission for the study was obtained from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College. Ethics approval was obtained from the Ethics Review Committee at Department of Scientific Research, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing, China. The results will be published in peer-reviewed journals or disseminated through conference presentations.

NCT ID: NCT03108430 Recruiting - Risk Factor Clinical Trials

Study of Risk Factors for Developing Inhalation Pneumonia After Inhalation

PrevAsPI-Obs
Start date: August 22, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Inhalation pneumonia (PI) is common in clinical practice but is rarely studied. For example, there are no data on the incidence of pneumonia after inhalation and risk factors or protective factors to develop one since it is known that anyone who inhaled does not necessarily develop an IP. There is no data on the benefit of treating inhalation by antibiotic therapy pre-emptively although this practice is common. In this context, this observational study wishes to take stock of the situation on the subject in order to determine what actions to implement to prevent IP.

NCT ID: NCT03059732 Completed - Risk Factor Clinical Trials

Factors Associated With High Mortality of Gastric Adenocarcinoma in Thailand Versus Japan

Start date: December 1, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The differences in patient's clinicopathological characteristic between high and low prevalence of gastric cancer region should be further examined to elucidate factors that associate with poor survival rate of patients with gastric cancer. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate characteristics of patients with gastric adenocarcinoma and factors associated with different outcome in Thailand and Japan to find a clue to improve patients' survival in low prevalence country such as Thailand. This is a retrospective cohort study. It was conducted at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thailand and Osaka Medical Center for Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease, Japan. Eligible cases were selected by using standardized search protocols: formal computer searches of all patients seen at out-patient clinic and/or hospitalized for gastric cancer between 2010 and 2014.Two physicians, who were informed the definition of each variable, individually reviewed chart of patients.
