Filter by:Until today, there is only little information available on how severe RSV infection leading to hospitalisation of the infant impacts the quality of life of affected families. For the ResQ Family project, an online questionnaire will be used to survey parents or caregivers of children up to 24 months currently or recently hospitalised (length of hospital stay of at least 12 hours and hospital admission no longer than 4 weeks ago) due to RSV infection. The aim of the ResQ Family project is to find out how infant RSV hospitalisation impacts the quality of life of affected children and their families. The goal is further to provide scientific evidence on the burden of RSV and raise awareness among all relevant stakeholders including healthcare professionals and patient representatives, decision-makers and the general public. The project will run until June 2024. Data collection will take place during the RSV season from fall 2022 to spring 2023 in four European countries: France, Germany, Italy, and Sweden.

In addition, the age, gender, height, weight, period of experience in the profession, smoking, branch, education level and current disease status of the teachers included in the study were also examined according to the questionnaire and evaluation scales. At the same time, the postures of the teachers were also evaluated. The universe of the research consists of teachers working in public schools in Istanbul between April 2022 and September 2022. The sample, on the other hand, was determined as a total of 120 healthy volunteer teachers, 60 women and 60 men, who teach in 4 primary education institutions in avcılar and esenyurt districts of Istanbul. Before starting the study, approval was obtained from the ethics committee of non-interventional clinical studies of Istanbul Arel University. Permission letters were obtained from the 4 primary education institutions where the study would be conducted and added to the ethics committee application form. The importance and purpose of the study were explained to all teachers who agreed to participate in the study. All necessary information was given on the subject that the results of the study would be used for scientific purposes, their identities would be kept confidential, and participants could withdraw from the study at any time, and their written consent was included in the informed consent form.
Hypertension (HTN) is the leading modifiable cause of cardiovascular disease. Rural individuals experience challenges of the rural health divide: geographic distance from providers, social isolation, limited social resources, and high rates of low health literacy. This study evaluates a home-based blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) program that provides longitudinal health education, empathic guidance, monitoring, and adaptable patient-centered coaching to rural individuals. Participants in this study will be randomized to receive (1) HBPM with the intervention; or (2) the control, consisting of HBPM and a smartphone with a general health application (WebMD).
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the iCanWork intervention in assisting cancer survivors (CS) to return to work (RTW) and its impact on their health-related quality of life (QoL), health service utilization, RTW readiness, time to RTW, and work capacity.
This proof-of-concept study was to explore the implementation feasibility to deliver the Lymfit intervention to participants remotely during the pandemic.
The aim of this 2- arm randomized-control study is to determine the effect of an oral hygiene self care intervention on the oral health status and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) of HIV-positive children (age: 8-16 years, n=172) presenting to five pediatric HIV clinics in Kano, Nigeria. The intervention will comprise oral health education and instructions on oral self-care. Data on oral health status and OHRQoL will be obtained at baseline and at 1, 3 and 6 months. Study findings will help inform policies to improve the oral health and OHRQoL of HIV-positive Nigerian children and guide the integration of oral health care services into HIV programs.
In order to overcome the shortcomings of the assessment questionnaires currently available on the assessment of overall quality of life, the "Toronto Aortic Stenosis Quality of Life Questionnaire" (TASQ) was developed as a specific assessment tool for the impact of severe aortic stenosis in elderly patients, through 16 questions covering 5 domains: symptoms and physical limitations, emotional impact and expectations following TAVI, as well as social limitations incurred. A better knowledge and understanding of the clinical outcomes and quality of life of elderly patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis at 12 months of follow-up of a TAVI procedure would further optimize the clinical decision-making process and patient selection who will benefit the most from this intervention in the long term.

Personalized Integrated Care Promoting Quality of Life for Elderly People (ProCare4Life, PC4L) project was created to finalize a digital platform with integrated sensors , for monitoring the health status of the elderly subjects with neurodegenerative diseases and comorbidities. In fact, an integrated care platform - able to establish correlations between comorbidities, investigate the intake of different drugs, mitigate potential health risks, study the social variables and promote unified therapeutic procedures or social services - could help patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and social health workers to monitor various diseases parameters. The main contribution of the PC4L project is to propose an integrated, scalable and interactive care system that can be easily adapted to the reality of various chronic diseases, care institutions and end-user needs, for the benefit of all the actors involved. The main expected results are to improve patients' quality of life, enable an active life and better disease management, support professionals in decision making, facilitate efficient communication between all stakeholders and ensure reliable and secure access to data at the within Europe.
