NCT ID: NCT03776045 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

PROState Cancer Patients Initiating Hormone Therapy: Effect of Exercise on CARDIOvascular Health (PROSCARDIO)

PROSCARDIO
Start date: August 12, 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates whether exercise can reduce treatment-related adverse effects in prostate cancer patients initiating androgen deprivation therapy. Half of recruited participants completed a 3-month exercise intervention, while the other half did not perform any supervised exercise. It was anticipated that exercise would have a positive effect on body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness and quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT03774056 Completed - Clinical trials for Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer

A Study Evaluating Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics, and Preliminary Efficacy of HC-1119 in Patients.

Start date: February 10, 2017
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a phase I study evaluating tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy of HC-1119 in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The study objective is to study the tolerability, safety, and dose-limiting toxicities (DLT) of HC-1119 in patients with mCRPC.

NCT ID: NCT03762616 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Urology San Antonio MRI/MicroUS Comparison

Start date: November 28, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study compares micro-ultrasound image targeted prostate biopsy with multi-parametric MRI targeted biopsy in men indicated for prostate biopsy due to suspicion of prostate cancer. Both imaging techniques will be applied to each subject and compared, along with systematic biopsy.

NCT ID: NCT03761225 Completed - Clinical trials for Metastatic Castrate Resistant Prostate Cancer

Masitinib Plus Docetaxel in Metastatic Castration-resistant Prostate Cancer

Start date: September 2014
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Study of masitinib plus docetaxel as first-line chemotherapy in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03761160 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Mobile Health App to Mitigate the Metabolic Effects of Androgen Deprivation Therapy

Start date: July 16, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This research study seeks to develop and evaluate a mobile health app which aims to provide patients who are about to initiate androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer with an exercise program and better eating habits.

NCT ID: NCT03751436 Completed - Clinical trials for Metastatic Prostate Carcinoma

Enzalutamide With Venetoclax in Treating Patients With Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer

Start date: August 2, 2019
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This phase Ib/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of venetoclax when given together with enzalutamide and to see how well they work in treating patients with castration resistant prostate cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Androgens can cause the growth of prostate cancer cells. Drugs, such as enzalutamide, may lessen the amount of androgens made by the body. Venetoclax may target a special group of prostate cancer cells that is known to lead to resistance to treatment. Giving enzalutamide and venetoclax may work better in treating patients with castration resistant prostate cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03749993 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Evaluation of a MRI-based Prostate Cancer Screening Program

VISIONING
Start date: January 10, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effort and resources (incl. costs) required to detect 20 clinically relevant prostate cancer (PCA) in a screening program based on bpMRI of the prostate.

NCT ID: NCT03744494 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Cosmetic Appeal, HRQoL and Effectiveness of Simple and Pseudotesticular Techniques of Orchidectomy in Prostate Cancer

TEPSO
Start date: March 2, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The therapeutic efficacy of three types of orchidectomy was ascertained as well as the QoL and scrotal cosmetic satisfaction of patients in the three surgical arms. Two of these surgeries produced a pseudotesticle (BSCO, BESO) while one (BSO) did not.

NCT ID: NCT03741335 Completed - Prostate Carcinoma Clinical Trials

GET FIT Prostate: A Randomized Controlled Exercise Trial

Start date: February 5, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The GET FIT Prostate trial (Group Exercise Training for Fall prevention and functional Improvements during and after Treatment for Prostate cancer) is a single-blind, parallel group, randomized controlled trial comparing - 1) tai ji quan (functional balance) and 2) strength training (functional strength) against each other and vs. 3) a stretching control (functional mobility) - over a 6-mos. supervised intervention and 6-mos. follow-up. Two million prostate cancer survivors are alive in the U.S. and nearly half (45%) will receive androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) to reduce tumor androgen exposure and slow down cancer progression. While beneficial for cancer survival, significant treatment-induced side effects from ADT may lead to serious health consequences including falls, frailty, and dysfunction that contribute to morbidity and mortality

NCT ID: NCT03739684 Completed - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials
