Start date: March 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the diagnosis accuracy of 22G EUS Procore fine needle biopsy (FNB)device and 20G EUS Procore fine needle biopsy device for solid pancreatic lesions.

NCT ID: NCT02905578 Active, not recruiting - Pancreas Cancer Clinical Trials

A Phase 2 Trial of High-dose Ascorbate for Pancreatic Cancer (PACMAN 2.1)

Start date: November 28, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial adds high-dose ascorbate (vitamin C) to the standard of care regimen for metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma (a type of pancreatic cancer). Subjects are randomized between a control group (standard treatment) and an intervention group (pharmacologic ascorbate in addition to the standard treatment).

NCT ID: NCT02789371 Recruiting - Inflammation Clinical Trials

Comparing of Modified Wet Suction Technique and Dry Suction Technique for EUS-FNA of Solid Occupying Lesions

Start date: May 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the diagnosis accuracy of modified wet suction technique and 5ml dry suction technique on solid occupying lesions.

NCT ID: NCT02681796 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Epidural Analgesia Use in Pancreatic Resections

E-PRO I
Start date: June 7, 2016
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The rationale for this study is to investigate the benefits of epidural analgesia in pancreatic resections in a prospective, single blind, randomized control trial. This study will evaluate both short and long-term outcomes related to epidural analgesia, providing a longitudinal and comprehensive perspective to the advantages and disadvantages of this technique. The investigators hypothesize that the use of epidural analgesia reduces a patient's consumption of morphine or morphine-equivalent in the post-operative period following pancreatic resections.

NCT ID: NCT02327065 Recruiting - Neoplasm Metastases Clinical Trials

Prospective Multi-center, Single Blinded, Randomized, Controlled Trial of EUS-FNB and EUS-FNA on Solid Occupying Lesion

Start date: December 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the diagnosis accuracy of FNA and FNB biopsy on pancreatic, retroperitoneal, mediastinum and pelvic cavity solid occupying lesions.

NCT ID: NCT01774162 Completed - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

EUS-guided Fine Needle Biopsy With a New Core Histology Needle Versus Conventional Fine Needle Aspiration

Start date: September 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a well-established tool for the diagnosis and staging of many gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to, malignant and pre-malignant neoplasms of the pancreas, esophagus, rectum, and submucosal tumors developing along the gastrointestinal tract. EUS is the most sensitive test for the detection of focal lesions within the pancreas and is the most accurate method for diagnosing pancreas cancer. A biopsy method for tissue sampling via EUS called fine needle aspiration (FNA) was developed that enables a small needle to be passed into the lesion of interest under ultrasound guidance, obtaining cellular material for cytology. EUS-FNA is currently recommended for the diagnosis of cystic and solid mass lesions within and adjacent to the gastrointestinal tract. Yet in certain clinical circumstances, it is more desirable and sometimes necessary to obtain a core tissue biopsy for histology rather than the cellular material for cytology obtained with EUS-FNA. Furthermore, histology may generally increase the diagnostic yield of EUS-FNA compared to cytology. It is with these aims in mind that a new type of needle, the fine needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) device was developed to enable core tissue sampling. Since a comparison of these to methods has yet to be made, the aim of this study is to perform a direct comparison of the sampling adequacy and diagnostic yield of the new EUS-FNB needle with the conventional EUS-FNA needle.

S-1, Gemcitabine and Erlotinib for Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: August 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study will conduct a phase II study of gemcitabine, erlotinib, and S-1 as first-line chemotherapy in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer and evaluate the EGFR expression, KRAS mutation, and BRAF mutation as predictive or prognostic markers

NCT ID: NCT01446458 Completed - Pancreas Cancer Clinical Trials

Phase I Study of Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy and FOLFIRINOX in the Neoadjuvant Therapy of Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: November 2011
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether using FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) prior to surgery in patients with pancreatic cancer is safe and well tolerated. This study will obtain preliminary data on the response of the cancer to this therapy by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and by studying the cancer after it is resected surgically. In addition, the investigators will perform biochemical studies on the tumor tissue obtained from your tissue biopsy as well as from the tumor removed by the surgeon in order to measure the effect of treatment with FOLFIRINOX and SBRT on several proteins that may be important in the behavior of pancreatic cancer cells. The data obtained from this trial will be extremely valuable to help improve the approach to treating pancreatic cancer in the future. If you do not undergo surgery after completion of FOLFIRINOX + SBRT, the investigators will request a second biopsy of the tumor under computer tomography (CT) -guidance in order to measure the effect of treatment on your tumor.

NCT ID: NCT00930410 Completed - Bile Duct Diseases Clinical Trials

Intra-ductal Confocal Endomicroscopy for Characterization of Pancreas and Bile Duct Tumor

EMID
Start date: September 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The endomicroscopy is an adaptation of traditional optical microscopy in the digestive endoscopy. Furthermore, with the integration of a miniaturized laser confocal microscope to a videoendoscope, it's possible to study the digestive mucous by "optical biopsy". This monocentric, non randomized and prospective study uses the Intra-ductal confocal endomicroscopy for the characterization of pancreas and bile duct tumor.

Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test a combination-therapy of oxaliplatin and docetaxel in patients with metastatic or locally advanced adenocarcinoma of the pancreas after failure of a palliative first line therapy.
