NCT ID: NCT00154986 Recruiting - Ovarian Carcinoma Clinical Trials

IGFBP-3 in Ovarian Cancer Invasion

Start date: August 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

An ovarian cancer cell line (OVTW-59) derived from an ovarian endometrioid carcinoma was established and its sublines, labeled as P0, P1, P2, P3, and P4 with increasing invasion abilities were selected from transwell invasion chambers.Using cDNA microarray and verified with quantitative reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction, we have identified IGFBP-3 as an invasion-suppressor gene. We plan to study the role of IGFBP-3 in ovarian cancer invasion.

NCT ID: NCT00045461 Recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy With or Without Whole-Body Hyperthermia in Treating Patients With Recurrent Ovarian Epithelial, Fallopian Tube, or Peritoneal Cancer

Start date: June 2000
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Hyperthermia therapy kills tumor cells by heating them to several degrees above body temperature. Combining hyperthermia with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known if chemotherapy is more effective with or without whole-body hyperthermia therapy in treating gynecologic cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II/III trial to compare the effectiveness of chemotherapy with or without whole-body hyperthermia in treating patients who have recurrent ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00036712 Recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

Light-Emitting Diode Therapy in Preventing Mucositis in Children Receiving Chemotherapy With or Without Radiation Therapy Before Bone Marrow Transplantation

Start date: January 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Light-emitting diode (LED) therapy may be able to prevent mucositis of the mouth. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to determine the effectiveness of LED therapy in preventing mucositis of the mouth in children who are receiving chemotherapy with or without radiation therapy before donor bone marrow transplantation.

NCT ID: NCT00005095 Recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Specimen and Data Study for Ovarian Cancer Early Detection and Prevention

Start date: March 2000
Phase:
Study type: Observational

RATIONALE: To improve strategies for detection and prevention of early-stage disease. PURPOSE: This research study is collecting specimens and data to develop better methods for early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer among the high risk population and those who have the disease.

NCT ID: NCT00003135 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Whole Body Hyperthermia Combined With Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Metastatic Breast, Ovarian, Endometrial, or Cervical Cancer

Start date: November 1997
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Hyperthermia therapy kills tumor cells by heating them to several degrees above body temperature. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with hyperthermia may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving fluorouracil and liposomal doxorubicin together with systemic hyperthermia works in treating patients with metastatic breast, ovarian, endometrial, or cervical cancer.
