Effects of Cytotoxic Chemotherapy and PARP Inhibition on the Genomic Contexture of Ovarian Cancer

Start date: February 9, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

EFFECTS OF CYTOTOXIC CHEMOTHERAPY AND PARP INHIBITION ON THE GENOMIC CONTEXTURE OF OVARIAN CANCER: TR_NACT_OV/17 In order to approach the above open questions, ultimately aiming in understanding the effects of cancer drugs on tumor biology and hence in selecting the proper drugs for the patients in the context of Precision Medicine, the objective of this study is to study the genomic characteristics of ovarian tumors before and after treatment with classic neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) and with the more recently approved PARP inhibitor olaparib.

NCT ID: NCT04751435 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Developing New Educational Materials About Genetic Testing for a Diverse Group of Cancer Patients

IMAGINE
Start date: November 16, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Genetic testing is a type of test that detects changes to the genes-the DNA instructions that are passed on from the mother and father. The results of a genetic test can confirm whether the participant has a genetic disorder, which is a disease caused in whole or in part by changes to the genes. Genetic testing can also help determine a person's chance of getting or passing on a genetic disorder. Genetic tests use a sample of blood, hair, skin, or other tissue, and they can look at one gene or multiple genes at the same time. Genetic testing may change the options for treating people with certain types of cancer. For example, some medications are more helpful for the treatment of cancer in people with certain gene changes (mutations). The researchers are doing this study to develop new educational materials about genetic testing for people who speak different languages and have diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. During the study, the staff will interview participants with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and ask them to review a sample of the educational materials that have been developed so far. Participants will give their opinions on these materials, and the researchers will use participants' feedback to improve the materials.

NCT ID: NCT04747717 Recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Efficacy of Neoadjuvant Therapy With Cisplatin Plus Mitomycin C in BRCA1-Mutated Ovarian Cancer

Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study was designed to assess the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy with mitomycin C plus cisplatin (MP) in BRCA1-mutated ovarian cancer versus standard regimen (paclitaxel plus carboplatin (TP)).

NCT ID: NCT04742075 Recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Olaparib, Durvalumab and UV1 in Relapsed Ovarian Cancer

DOVACC
Start date: December 15, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This prospective, multicenter, open-label, randomized phase II maintenance study is evaluating the efficacy of UV1-olaparib-durvalumab combination as maintenance therapy after platinum combination therapy for BRCAwt patients with relapsed ovarian cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04735861 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma

Sintilimab Plus Bevacizumab in Recurrent/Persistent Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma

INOVA
Start date: April 7, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) is one of the rare subtypes of ovarian cancer, yet its prognosis is extremely poor. Previous studies indicate that both bevacizumab and PD-1 inhibitor have clinical benefits for OCCC patients. And the combination of bevacizumab and PD-1 inhibitor has shown preliminary safety and clinical activity. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the potential benefit of combination therapy for patients with OCCC.

NCT ID: NCT04714957 Recruiting - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

PITCHER (Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Heterogeneity)

Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

How epigenetic deregulation affects gene expression patterns in subclones of the same tumor is poorly known. Peritoneal Carcinomatosis (PC) is a condition in which multiple metastases of the same abdominal tumor develop in the peritoneal cavity and intra-peritoneal organs, thus defining different ecosystems of the same cancer. PITCHER addresses the variations in epigenetically regulated gene expression between different subclones of PC in relation with cell mechanoresponses, providing insights on how cancer epigenetic landscapes evolve under environmental pressures and on strategies used by cancer cells to adapt to the transition from one ecosystem to the other. PITCHER is a network of 10 teams from Lyon, Grenoble and Marseille, based on data and specimen collection of patients who have undergone a surgery for a peritoneal carcinomatosis of ovarian or colorectal origin. PC lesions and eventually matched specimens of primary tumors will be collected in the same patients at the time of the surgery or eventually retrieved from already existing samples. Epigenetic landscapes will be analyzed by a bioinformatics pipeline combining exome sequencing, transcriptome and methylome to identify "epigenetic hotspots", and their variations across lesions will be evaluated. These analyses will be realized in fresh (when available) or pre-existing samples. When possible, organoid cultures and animal models will be derived from multicellular structures in peritoneal fluids and membrane, cytoskeletal and nucleoskeletal mechanoresponses will be characterized using Atomic Force Microscopy. The role of tumor axonogenesis, a process of neo-formation of axon fibers in tumors, will be addressed. Experimental studies of cell responses to therapy will be performed to derive mathematical predictive models. All components will be integrated in a systems biology map of PC.

Implementing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Pathways In Major Gynecologic Oncology Operations In Greece

ERAS
Start date: January 6, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program includes preoperative counseling, fasting avoidance, non-opioid analgesia, fluid balance, normothermia and early mobilization. ERAS pathways were developed to reduce hospital length of stay, reduce costs and decrease perioperative opioid requirements, and be beneficial for patients. We propose the hypothesis that the ERAS pathway could reduce the length of stay (LOS) in hospital for patients undergoing major gynecolodic oncology surgery (MGOS). Patients were randomly allocated in two groups: An ERAS pathway group including preoperative counseling, early feeding/mobilization, and opioid-sparing multimodal analgesia; and a classic model group of post operative recovery as control.
