NCT ID: NCT06135662 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Gingival Recession Localized Moderate

Comparing Tunnel Technique and CAF With CTG in Mandibular Gingival Recession Treatment

Start date: December 11, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of two different surgical techniques, the Coronally Advanced Flap (CAF) and the Tunnel Technique (TT) with Connective Tissue Grafts (CTG), in treating mandibular gingival recession. This study, focusing on healthy patients with RT1 and RT2 gingival recessions, aims to determine which surgical approach offers better root coverage for mandibular recession defects. Additionally, it seeks to understand the effects of these techniques on aspects such as keratinized tissue gain, vestibular depth, gingival thickness, and patient-reported outcomes. Participants in this trial will undergo one of the two surgical procedures and are expected to attend a total of six assessment visits. Researchers will compare the results from both groups, those treated with CAF and those with TT+CTG, to discern if one method is superior in achieving more effective root coverage, enhanced aesthetic appearance, and reduced discomfort associated with gingival recession.

NCT ID: NCT06135493 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Peripheral Neuropathy Due to Chemotherapy

Prevention of Paclitaxel-induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Breast Cancer Patients

Start date: December 12, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy (PIPN) is one of the most dose-limiting side effects; it causes patients discomfort and pain and sometimes causes the termination of the chemotherapy cycles, leading to treatment failure. A lot of interventions have been tried to prevent PIPN, ensure complete administration of the chemotherapy cycles, and increase the survival rate. One of the promising interventions in the prevention of PIPN is Losartan. Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARBs) and is used to treat hypertensive patients. There is strong evidence from different preclinical studies and retrospective cohort studies that Losartan has a neuroprotective effect. The purpose of our study is to investigate the efficacy of Losartan in the prevention of peripheral neuropathy associated with Paclitaxel treatment in Breast Cancer patients.

NCT ID: NCT06134661 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Schizo Affective Disorder

Accelerated rTMS for Psychomotor Slowing

ATMSSlowing
Start date: September 22, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to optimize the treatment of psychomotor slowing in patients with schizophrenia using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). A previous randomized controlled trial indicated that inhibitory stimulation over the supplementary motor area (SMA) once daily over 3 weeks ameliorates psychomotor slowing. In this trial the investigators use a shorter inhibitory protocol called cTBS and to be applied 3 times per day. This should lead to faster treatment response and less burden to patients. The main question the investigators aim to answer are: Can the treatment with cTBS 3 times per day ameliorate psychomotor slowing in schizophrenia over one week? Participants will complete questionnaires on the first and last day of the study. Each day, participants will receive the TMS-treatment. Optionally, participants can receive a cerebral MRI before the study and/or come for an additional day 6 to repeat some of the questionnaires. There is no comparison group. All participants will receive the same treatment.

NCT ID: NCT06134648 Recruiting - Healthy Volunteers Clinical Trials

Study of a Respiratory Syncytial Virus/Human Metapneumovirus Vaccine Candidate

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and immunogenicity of a single intramuscular (IM) injection of different doses of an respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV) vaccine candidate, in adult participants aged 60 years and older. In addition, the study will evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a booster vaccination administered 12 months after the primary vaccination in a subset of the study population.

NCT ID: NCT06134310 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Temporomandibular Disorder

Efficacy of Manual Therapy Based on the Fascial Distortion Model in Individuals With Temporomandibular Disorder

Start date: November 7, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to investigate the efficacy of Manual Therapy Based on the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) by comparing it with Core Stabilization Training (CST) or Control in individuals with temporomandibular disorders. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is the efficacy of the addition of FDM-based Manual Therapy to conventional therapy different from the addition of CST or control? - Is the efficacy of the addition of CST to conventional therapy different from the addition of FDM or control? All participants in the intervention groups will be given eight-week conventional therapy (Rocabado Exercises and Patient Education) in addition to FDM-based Manual Therapy or CST. Participants in the control group will not be given any therapy during the study. Pain intensity, TMD severity, head posture, function, and disability will be assessed.
