Filter by:In this study, eligible patients with the medical indications (facial lipoatrophy, morphological asymmetry of the face, or debilitating scars) will be treated with Princess® VOLUME, and then will return for follow-up assessments 2, 4, 24, and 36 weeks after the treatment. A touch-up treatment may be done 2 weeks after the treatment if deemed appropriate by the Investigator.

The investigators wish to test a hypothesis that patients with HFpEF have different characteristics on echo, cardiac MRI and plasma protein & chemical profiles compared to HFrEF and healthy volunteers.
Recurrent urinary tract infections are quickly becoming a public health obstacle in our aging population. Almost 50% of women have at least one urinary tract infection in their lifetime; following this first infection, there is a 25-35% chance that she will have another infection in the subsequent 3-6 months. With each documented infection, a patient receives anywhere from a three to seven day course of antibiotics for treatment. Repeated courses of antibiotics often lead to the development of multi-drug resistant infections that are difficult to treat with our arsenal of oral medications. It is theorized that most, if not all, urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria from the gastrointestinal tract. If there is a generalized gut dysbiosis due to repeated courses of oral antibiotics, it will likely be difficult to ever adequately treat repeat urinary tract infections. This same theory led to the development and utilization of fecal microbiota transplantation in the treatment of refractory Clostridium difficile diarrhea. There are now several studies that have reported on the efficacy of fecal transplantation in the treatment of C.difficile infections as well as the correction of gut dysbiosis. Given this positive response in treatment of refractory infectious diarrhea, the investigators propose that the correction of gut dysbiosis can also treat refractory recurrent urinary tract infections. Therefore, the investigators propose this pilot study to determine the effectiveness of fecal transplantation in the treatment of refractory, recurrent urinary tract infections.
The purpose of this study is to explore whether active transcranial direct current stimulation during cognitive rehabilitation tasks can boost cognitive enhancement without severe side effects in mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia patients.
Although exercise-induced desaturation is frequently observed in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) short-term effects of supplemental oxygen during walking have not been investigated yet. Given, that walking ability is the most important activity of daily life, the aim of our study is to investigate the effects of supplemental oxygen on endurance walking capacity in hypoxemic IPF patients. In this study patients will perform 3 endurance shuttle walk tests (ESWTs) at 85% of their individual peak performance using medical air (=compressed room air, 2 liters/minute), 2 liters/minute oxygen, 4 liters/minute Oxygen in a double-blinded fashion and random order. Since there are only limited pharmacological treatment options for IPF patients, this study may help to provide novel information about the short-term effects of supplemental oxygen. Furthermore it may help to investigate possibilities to optimize oxygen therapy in order to facilitate patients´ participation in activities of daily life and not at least to improve patients´ quality of life.
An open label feasibility study using BPX-04 topical minocycline gel in papulopustular rosacea.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of preoperative administration of single-dose of paracetamol-codeine, in the relieving of acute post-operative pain after the surgical removal of an impacted mandibular third molar. Materials and Methods: The study cohort consisted of 32 Caucasian outpatients, giving a total of 64 bilateral symmetrical impacted mandibles. Patients were randomized in two experimental groups to receive a preoperative oral dose of paracetamol-codeine (analgesic group) or a placebo (placebo group) at the first and second surgeries. Study participants were asked to record pain intensity scores during the operation and the next 2 days, the time of the first request for rescue analgesic, and the total number of postoperative-supplement paracetamol-codeine tablets.
This study assesses in a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled multi-center pilot trial the effect of PDE-5 inhibition with Tadalafil on right ventricle size and function, exercise capacity and neurohumoral activation in adults with congenital heart disease and a right ventricle in subaortic position over a 3-year follow-up period.
The prevalence of family caregivers is projected to increase in concert with the projected increase in number of AD patients. The focus of the study is to gather systematic data on the acceptability and efficacy of a unique technology-based, culturally- tailored psycho-social intervention program that targets ethnically/culturally diverse family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's Disease. The overall goal of the project is to improve the lives of family caregivers as well as their ability to provide care to their loved one and to reduce disparities in access to needed services and support among caregiver populations.
