Open Label NK Cell Infusion (FATE-NK100) With Subq IL-2 in Adults With AML

This is a Phase I open-label dose escalation study of a single infusion of FATE-NK100 and a short course of subcutaneous interleukin-2 (IL-2) administered after lymphodepleting chemotherapy (CY/FLU) in subjects with refractory or relapsed acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). FATE-NK100 is a natural killer (NK) cell product that is enriched for NK cells with an "adaptive", or human cytomegalovirus (CMV)-induced, phenotype. The NK cell product is comprised of peripheral blood (PB) leukocytes sourced from a related donor (HLA-haploidentical or better but not fully HLA-matched) that is seropositive for cytomegalovirus (CMV+), and enriched for adaptive NK cells by depletion of CD3+ (T-lymphocytes) and CD19+ (B-lymphocytes) cells followed by ex-vivo culture expansion.

This is a phase I/II study to find the highest dose of hydroxychloroquine that can be given safely with itraconazole in patients with advanced platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian cancer. The study will also determine the safety, tolerability, and initially determine whether the combination is useful in the treatment of patients with advanced platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian cancer.

The most prevalent monogenetic diabetic subtype is named maturity onset diabetes of the young type (MODY3) or hepatocyte nuclear factor 1α (HNF1A)-diabetes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of supra-physiological levels of GIP and GLP-1, respectively, on insulin and glucagon secretion at fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and "post-prandial" PG levels (1.5 × FPG) in patients with HNF1A-diabetes and matched healthy controls treated with or without a low dose of glimepiride (sulphonylurea). In addition, we will evaluate the maximal insulin and glucagon secretory capacity in both groups.

Platelet Function on Abacavir and Tenofovir

This is a small observational study aimed at observing differences in platelet function in HIV patients on abacavir versus tenofovir based anti-HIV drugs. There is some correlation between platelet activation and cardiovascular disease- this study will act as a pilot to see if platelet activation among abacavir users may explain the correlation between abacavir and cardiovascular disease in HIV positive patients. This study will enroll 44 participants total; 22 on abacavir-based treatment, 22 on tenofovir-based treatment. There is only one study visit which includes a blood draw, physical assessment, and review of medical history.

Vaginal Misoprostol Before IUD Insertion in Women With Cesarean Scar

Groups of study: 120 candidates for Cu T 380A IUD insertion were enrolled in the study. They were divided into two groups: Group 1: Sixty women received 600 micrograms of misoprostol vaginally as deep as possible six hours before IUD insertion. Group 2: Sixty women received the placebo vaginally. The placebo and misoprostol were put in 120 numbered closed envelopes according to the table of random numbers and an envelope was allocated to each patient accordingly. Methodology: All patients were subjected to the following: (i) Complete history taking (ii) Proper counseling: (iv) Examination: (v) 600ug misoprostol (3tablets Misotac®, ( Sigma Pharmaceutical Industries, Egypt )or placebo were administered Vaginally as deep as possible 6 hours before insertion of the IUD by gynecologist . (vi) Insertion of IUD: (TCu-380A®,Pregna International Ltd, India ) After full history taken , Proper counseling, Informed consent is taken from each patients, examination ( general , abdominal and pelvic )to exclude any pathology . A careful bimanual examination was done prior to IUD insertion. The cervix was exposed by introducing a vaginal speculum, the cervix and vaginal vault were cleaned with povidone- iodine solution. The Next step was to sound and measure the depth of the uterus. The IUD was folded into the insertion tube immediately prior to insertion. The cervix was grasped with a tenaculum, and gently pulled downward to straighten the angle of flection. The insertion tube was advanced into the uterus to the correct depth as marked on the tube by a sliding plastic flange. The outer sheath of the insert was withdrawn a short distance to release the arms of the T and was then gently pushed inward again to elevate the opened T against the fundus of uterus . The inserter tube was then removed. Then strings were cut to project about 2-4 cm from the external cervical os.

The investigators will perform a prospective cohort study. The aim of the study is to determine whether there is an association between perioperative covert stroke and postoperative cognitive dysfunction in elderly patients undergoing noncardiac surgery.

However there are still 50% to 60% RM and RIF which don't have a clear cause,mainly associated with alloimmune factors.Among various treatments,lymphocytes active immunotherapy is the most common treatment method, and its clinical efficacy is widely recognized although its action mechanism is not clear so far.
