Examination of major duodenal papilla (MDP) using a side-viewing duodenoscope is a golden standard. However, side-viewing duodenoscope is not available in some endoscopic centers. Cap-assisted esophagogastroduodenoscopy (Ca-EGD) using a transparent cap fitted to the tip of the scope has emerged as an alternative method for the observation of MDP. A recent study showed that complete examination of MDP could be achieved in 97% of patients. The investigators hypothesize that Ca-EGD is non-inferior to duodenoscope for the observation of MDP.
The primary goal of this Phase 1 study is to characterize the safety and tolerability of tebotelimab and establish the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of tebotelimab in advanced solid tumors, and tebotelimab in combination with margetuximab in HER2+ advanced solid tumors. Pharmacokinetics (PK), immunogenicity, pharmacodynamics (PD), and the anti-tumor activity of tebotelimab will also be assessed.
This study aims to investigate the long-term safety and efficacy of RELVAR® 100 ELLIPTA® (hereinafter referred to as "Relvar") in daily clinical practice in subjects with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), who are naive to RELVAR. A total of 1000 subjects, from approximately 200 medical institutions, will be registered for this study and 332 of them will be considered for safety analysis. In the investigation, subject registration and data collection will be conducted using an Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system. Post-registration, the investigator will monitor the information regarding the safety and efficacy of RELVAR for one year from the start date of treatment with RELVAR. Pneumonia, systemic effects caused by corticosteroids and cardiovascular events will be considered as the priority investigation matters. At the end of observation period, the investigator will enter the obtained information into the EDC system and submit it. RELVAR 100 ELLIPTA is the registered trademark of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) group of companies.
Objective neuromuscular monitoring is the gold standard to detect postoperative residual curarization (PORC). Many anesthesiologist just use qualitative neuromuscular monitoring or unreliable, clinical tests. Goal of this study is to develop an algorithm of muscle function tests to identify PORC
Prilocaine theoretically could provide faster onset because of its lower pKa (7,7) compared to bupivacaine (8,1). The primary objective of this prospective double blind randomized trial is to determine block onset of spinal hyperbaric prilocaine compared to bupivacaine, both with a small dose of sufentanyl as an additive. The primary hypothesis is that a significant larger amount of patients will gain surgical readiness within 8 minutes after spinal injection of prilocaine with sufentanyl compared to bupivacaine with sufentanyl. Surgical readiness is defined as a sensory block level of T5 tested by loss of cold sensation.
The purpose of this study is to develop and implement a culturally-appropriate intervention to reduce stress in Vietnamese dementia caregivers. A pilot intervention will be done to test the feasibility and acceptability of the intervention in a community setting. This will be done by randomly assigning a family triad (primary caregiver, secondary caregiver, and their care recipient) into an active intervention or a control condition and monitoring findings at baseline, post-intervention, and at three months. The intervention will consist of multiple components -enhanced psycho-education that includes discussion of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and cultural impacts on beliefs about dementia and caregiving, management of problem behaviors, facilitation of support seeking, and mindful Tai Chi. A secondary caregiver who the primary caregiver identifies as providing him/her with the most support will be invited to join all components, but the intervention will be flexible depending on caregivers' needs/preferences. The care recipient is not required to join the sessions but will be able to if he/she or the family wishes. During the intervention, community partners will provide respite care for the care recipient.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate if INS1007 can reduce pulmonary exacerbations over a 24-week treatment period in participants with non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and dose response of SK-1405 for the treatment of subjects with uremic pruritus receiving hemodialysis, during 2 weeks of treatment.
Remote ischemic postconditioning (RIPC) is suggested to protect the cerebral cell against ischemia in various settings. However, the effect of RIPC in patients with acute ischemic stroke who undergo thrombolysis has yet to be examined. In this single-center, randomized controlled trial, we examined the effect of RIPC on the resolution of nerve function deficient in response to thrombolysis. Patients in the RIPC group had five cycles of 5-min cuff inflation followed by 3-min deflation to the bilateral upper arm after thrombolysis. The primary endpoint was the recovery of nerve function deficient assessed by National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS), Activities of Daily Living(ADL), Modified Rankin Scale(mRS), CT cerebral perfusion imaging (CTP) and CT angiography(CTA). Secondary endpoints included the following: angiogenesis assessed by the level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF).
