NCT ID: NCT06183268 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Evaluation of Radiobiological Effects in Skin Toxicities Head and Neck Cancer Patients With PBS Proton Therapy

Start date: December 13, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This purpose of this study is to examine skin reactions (called radiation dermatitis) that occur during pencil beam scanning (PBS) proton therapy. The researchers will test a unique technique called "Spot Delete" to see if it can reduce skin reactions for head & neck patients treated with PBS. The investigators will also use a special computer model to study how the energy of the proton beam (linear energy transfer) is related to these skin reactions. The study involves creating a treatment plan based on a CT scan, which helps guide the proton beam in the body.

NCT ID: NCT06182085 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Mild Cognitive Impairment Due to Alzheimer's Disease

Study to Assess Safety and Efficacy of PRI-002 in Patients With MCI to Mild Dementia Due to Alzheimer's Disease (AD)

PRImus-AD
Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia. In the brains of people with AD, certain small substances stick together. This leads to changes in thinking and behaviour. The company PRInnovation is developing a new treatment for Alzheimer's disease, called PRI-002. It is thought that PRI-002 can cut the sticked substances back into small pieces. That would reduce the effects of Alzheimer's disease. In the current study the investigators examine whether PRI-002 is safe and effective in participants with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or mild dementia due to AD.

NCT ID: NCT06181539 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Evaluate the Effect of Prone Ventilation on Ventilated-blood Flow Ratio in Patients With ARDS by EIT

Start date: July 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Patients with ARDS often suffer a gravity-dependent alveolar collapse, resulting in a reduction of tidal volume, residual alveolar excessive distension, and ventilator-related lung injury(VILI) induced by unreasonable ventilator setting.Prone ventilation (PPV) improves the gravity-dependent alveolar ventilation and promotes lung recruitment in the gravity-dependent area and improves lung compliance. Previous studies showed that prolonged PPV combined with low tidal volume(LTV) lung protected ventilation can significantly reduce the mortality of patients with moderate to severe ARDS.Although more than 60% of patients with moderate to severe ARDS due to COVID-19 has been widely implemented PPV,studies showed an improvement in oxygenation in patients with ARDS(the P/F radio improved by more than 20% before and after PPV) was 9-77%, that is, That is, some patients are unresponsive to PPV. In addition, some patients showed CO2 responsiveness after PPV(ventilation rate (VR) decreased significantly after PPV).The tools for monitoring the effects of PPV on ventilation and blood flow at bedside are still lacking, Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-invasive, non-radiative, real-time bedside lung imaging technique that can monitor local lung ventilation distribution. This study intends to use EIT to evaluate pulmonary ventilation, blood flow distribution and local V/Q ratio before and after PPV, as well as to monitor the changes in pulmonary physiology before and after PPV, explore the mechanism of PPV improving oxygenation by combined with the changes in oxygenation, and explore the factors that predict and affect PPV responsiveness.

NCT ID: NCT06181266 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Non Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

A Phase 1/1b Study of ZH9 Treatment in Patients With Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

PARADIGM-1
Start date: January 8, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a first-in-human, multicenter, Phase 1/1b, 3-part, double-blind study of ZH9 in patients with recurrent NMIBC who are eligible for intravesical therapy. In Part 1, the safety, tolerability, and pharmacology of ZH9 IVI will be evaluated in a single ascending dose (SAD) patient cohort. In Part 2, the safety, tolerability, and pharmacology of ZH9 oral prime followed by ZH9 IVI will be evaluated in 2 patient cohorts at the doses and schedule established in Part 1. In Part 3, the safety, pharmacology, and clinical efficacy of ZH9 will be further evaluated in 2 expansion cohorts of patients with recurrent intermediate- and high-risk NMIBC.

NCT ID: NCT06180876 Recruiting - Clinical trials for General Anesthetic Drug Adverse Reaction

Effect of Remimazolam on Postoperative Delirium

RED
Start date: May 25, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Remimazolam is a novel benzodiazepine with ultra-short onset and offset of its effect. It can be used for general anesthesia. However, classical benzodiazepine such as midazolam was reported to increase the risk of postoperative delirium. Thus, the investigators aim to investigate the effect of remimazolam general anesthesia on postoperative delirium in elderly patients.

NCT ID: NCT06180785 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Heparin-induced Thrombocytopenia (HIT)

Performance Evaluation of the Biological Diagnosis of HIT

HIT
Start date: June 27, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is a severe complication of heparin therapy with a non-negligible incidence (estimated at 2.6% of unfractionated heparin treatments and 0.2% of low molecular weight heparin treatments). It is generally secondary to the appearance of IgG antibodies directed against the platelet factor 4 (PF4) - heparin complex. These antibodies, once bound to this complex, are likely to activate platelets: the thrombotic risk generated can be potentially fatal.

NCT ID: NCT06180681 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Implementation Science

Enhancing Team Effectiveness for a Collaborative School-based Intervention for ADHD

Start date: January 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The proposed project aims to integrate team-based implementation strategies with an established school-based intervention for children with ADHD, the Collaborative Life Skills Program (CLS), to enhance its implementation and optimize its effectiveness. The investigators will tailor three empirically-supported team development interventions, Team Charters, Team Communication Training (Student Handoff Protocols), and Team Performance Monitoring, and integrate them into a team-enhanced CLS implementation protocol (CLS-T). Team Charters are a written document developed collaboratively by the team at the outset of their work together outlining expectations, goals, roles and responsibilities, and relevant policies and procedures for team collaborative operations. Research shows that Team Charters strengthen affective emergent states, such as trust and cohesion among team members, as well as cognitive emergent states, such as shared mental models. They also strengthen team processes, such as goal specification, communication, and coordination to optimize team effectiveness. Handoff protocols are widely used interventions for ensuring continuity in patient care and minimizing errors in medical settings. They have also been found to improve affective (e.g., trust, cohesion) and cognitive (e.g., shared mental models, situation awareness) emergent states among team members, enhancing team communication and coordination. Finally, Team Performance Monitoring provides feedback to teams that can motivate performance, provide opportunities for adaptation in the event of challenges, and prompt communication among team members. The investigators will conduct a Hybrid Type III cluster randomized trial in 24 schools in two large urban school districts, to evaluate whether CLS-T implementation results in improved implementation outcomes and child outcomes in comparison to standard CLS implementation.
