A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Clinical Activity of Intramuscular Doses of BB-301 Administered to Subjects With Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy With Dysphagia

Subjects who have enrolled in the oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy (OPMD) natural history study (Study BNTC-OPMD-NH-001) and have completed at least 6 months of follow up in Study BNTC-OPMD-NH-001 may be eligible to participate in this study, where all subjects will be treated with a single dose of BB-301. BB-301 will be injected directly into the middle pharyngeal constrictor muscle and the inferior pharyngeal constrictor muscle of the throat through the use of an open surgical procedure conducted under general anesthesia. The primary objectives of the study are to evaluate the safety of BB-301, to identify the best dose of BB-301 to administer to patients, and to characterize how well BB-301 works to improve the symptoms of dysphagia in patients with OPMD.

Evaluation in Practice of the Impact of NIrsevimab on EmeRgency Use for BRONCHIOlitis

In July 2023, the Food and Drug Administration approved nirsevimab (Beyfortus®), a long-acting monoclonal antibody, for passive immunization to prevent RSV-associated lower respiratory tract infection (Bronchiolitis) among infants and young children. In Europe, The European Medicines Agency approved the use of BEYFORTUS in October 2022. In France, The Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) approved the use of BEYFORTUS in July 2023 starting in September 2023. Beyfortus is administered as a single intramuscular injection prior to or during RSV season. This single dose may provide protection during the whole RSV season. The safety and efficacy of Beyfortus® were supported by three clinical trials (1-3). The key measure of efficacy was the incidence of medically attended RSV lower respiratory tract infection (MA RSV LRTI ) evaluated during the 150 days after Beyfortus® administration. Beyfortus® reduced the risk of MA RSV LRTI by approximately 70% to 75% relative to placebo. The objective of this observational study is to assess in the real-world the effectiveness of nirsevimab on the Emergency Department use for bronchiolitis as well on the effectiveness of nirsevimab to reduce hospitalization and healthcare usage in France where a national campaign to administer nirsevimab to young infants stated on September 14th, 2023. Type of study Retrospective observational study of medical records which include systematic and prospective data on nirsevimab immunization status of patients visiting the Emergency Department. Methodology This retrospective observational study will include two data set analysis. On one part, data from all infants presenting to the emergency department and diagnosed as having bronchiolitis will be retrieved from medical and nursing records and those who had been given nirsevimab will be compared with those who did not receive this medication prior to the ED visit. On the other part, since the investigators have included nirsevimab administration in their systematic data collection on immunization of all infants visiting our ED, the investigators will use the nirsevimab immunization status of infants diagnosed as having bronchiolitis with those do not having bronchiolitis in order to assess the effectiveness (real-world effect) of nirsevimab on the ED use and hospitalization.

Investigation of the Effects of Vibration Therapy on Pain, Functionality, and Proprioception After ACL Injury

Over the past decade, vibration therapy has gained popularity. This treatment involves the transmission of vibration either through whole-body vibration (WBV) platforms or by applying local vibration (LV) directly to the muscles or tendons. In the context of ACLR (anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction), it has been reported that a single session of either WBV or LV, applied while patients maintain a squatting position, acutely improves the strength of the Quadriceps muscle when applied 50 months post-surgery, possibly by reducing arthrogenic muscle inhibition. Another study tested whether local vibration training (LVT) in the early post-ACLR phase (first 10 weeks) could improve strength recovery and found that LVT enhances strength regain after ACLR. This feasibility study demonstrates that LVT applied to relaxed muscles is a promising method of vibration therapy that can be applied early in ACLR. Compared to traditional massage, vibration therapy may also improve strength parameters. Percussion massage therapy is a new method that combines elements of traditional massage and vibration therapy. In the literature, there is a lack of scientific evidence on how and to what extent percussion massage therapy affects range of motion (ROM) and muscle strength. To date, only one conference paper has investigated the effects of a handheld percussion massage therapy device, and they found no change in vertical jump height after a 5-minute percussion massage therapy session applied to several lower body muscle groups." A review of the literature reveals that to date, there has been no study investigating the effects of manually applied percussion massage therapy on pain, functionality, and proprioception in cases who have undergone anterior cruciate ligament surgery. Therefore, the purpose of our study is to examine the effects of percussion massage therapy on pain, joint range of motion, joint position sense, muscle diameter, balance parameters, and functionality in patients who have undergone surgery following an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

A Study of EXG102-031 in Participants With wAMD

In neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (wAMD), the macula, or the part of the eye that provides the clear, detailed central vision, is being affected by abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage. This leakage affects the vision over time and can lead to severe blurriness or blinding. EXG102-031 was made to block the extra vessel formation which would lead to less leakage affecting the vision. Before EXG102-031 can be tested for its efficacy (if it makes vision better), it must be tested to see if it is safely tolerated to confirm it can continue to be studied in more patients with wAMD.

ActiCIDP is a monocentric academic study. Patients with Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuritis may be included on a voluntary basis. The investigators plan to include a group of approximately 40 patients with CIDP. The investigators have planned to assess patient every three months for a year. After each visit, participants will wear Actimyo for one month daily.

Theory of Mind in Children With DCD

The aim of the study is to investigate theory of mind (ToM) in children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). Dutch-speaking children, who are living in Flanders or The Netherlands (because comparisons will be made with Flemish and Dutch norms), will be included. In addition, children should be six until twelve years old with a DCD diagnosis confirmed by a multidisciplinary team (including a doctor). During the test moment, ToM will be tested by ToM test-R and the motor skills by MABC-2. Beside, the ToM test-R will be filmed, but the child's face not shown. The parent/legal guardian will be asked to complete five online questionnaires (demographic and developmental questionnaire, CVO, SRS-2, SDQ and ToMBC), this can be completed in advance at home or at the test moment (researchers provide a laptop).
