The present research project is framed within the issue of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). This condition stands as one of the most common challenges encountered within the mental health services of the National Health System. The primary objectives of this research are to verify whether the combined use of established treatments for patients and their families, conducted in parallel, leads to a greater improvement in patients and their families, respectively. Additionally, another aim of the project is to assess efficiency, defined as the acceptance of intervention programs by patients, their families, and clinical professionals, as well as to demonstrate their feasibility.

Stopping OsteoARthritis After an ACL Tear

By 2040, 25% of Canadians will have osteoarthritis, a disabling joint condition. Most people think osteoarthritis only affects older adults, but 50% of the 700,000 Canadian youth who hurt their knee playing sports annually will develop osteoarthritis by 40 years of age. These young people with old knees face knee pain and disability for much of their adult lives, interfering with parenting, work, and recreation. Yet, most do not know about osteoarthritis or how to reduce their risk. In this clinical trial, people who have torn the Anterior Cruciate ligament in their knee and had reconstruction surgery 9-36 months previously will be randomized to receive either a 6-month virtual education and exercise therapy program called Stop OsteoARthritis (SOAR) or a minimal intervention control program. Researchers will test if those who received the SOAR program have larger gains in knee health, including pain, symptoms, function, and quality of life at 6, 12, and 24 months. Researchers will also use MRIs (baseline and 24 months) to assess how the SOAR program influences knee cartilage degeneration and its cost-effectiveness.

Randomized Clinical Trial: Effect of an Exercise Routine on Postoperative Shoulder Pain in Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

This is a clinical trial aimed at understanding the impact of a shoulder exercise routine on postoperative shoulder pain in patients who have undergone laparoscopic hysterectomy. **Main Questions:** 1. Does implementing a shoulder exercise routine immediately after laparoscopic hysterectomy reduce postoperative shoulder pain? **Brief Explanation:** We want to see if doing shoulder exercises right after laparoscopic hysterectomy can help reduce the pain they might feel in their shoulders. This kind of pain can happen because of the gas used during the surgery. Using exercises could be a cost-effective and easy way to help patients recover better after the surgery. **Hypothesis:** We think that doing shoulder exercises right after laparoscopic hysterectomy will lower the amount of shoulder pain patients experience after the surgery. **Objective:** Our goal is to find out if a shoulder exercise routine can make a difference in how much shoulder pain patients have right after laparoscopic hysterectomy. **How We'll Do It:** This study aims to evaluate the impact of a shoulder exercise routine on reducing postoperative shoulder pain in women who have undergone total laparoscopic hysterectomy at the National Institute of Perinatology. Recognizing the high prevalence and intensity of post-laparoscopy shoulder pain, the study compares the effectiveness of shoulder exercises to hand exercises in managing this pain. Patients, selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, will be randomly assigned to either the shoulder or hand exercise group. The exercise regimen involves performing specific movements at regular intervals during the immediate postoperative period, except at night. Pain intensity will be measured using a Visual Analog Scale at various intervals postoperatively. The study controls for several variables, including visceral and incisional pain, duration of pneumoperitoneum, analgesic use, and patient characteristics like BMI and comorbidities, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the exercises' effectiveness. The hypothesis tests whether shoulder exercises can reduce shoulder pain more effectively than hand exercises. This research could have significant implications for enhancing recovery and pain management strategies post-laparoscopy.

Clinical Outcomes With Non-Powered vs. Powered Prosthetic Knees by K2-level Amputees

The goal of this proposed project is to gather community-based data from the K2-level Transfemoral Amputee (TFA) population to aid in evidence-based prescription of powered prosthetic knees (i.e., choosing the right device to maximize the benefit for each patient). The investigators intend to use this trial data along with a concurrent study being conducted within the K3-K4 level population to guide the implementation of effective prescriptions towards those that can benefit most from a given device and limit prescription to those who would not see benefit in order to ensure the most judicious use of Department of Defense (DoD) and Veteran's Affairs healthcare dollars. The findings will also be shared with the research community to help drive the design of future devices by identifying what features and functions are most beneficial to which patient populations when the devices are used outside of the laboratory. In summary, more community-based data on how powered prosthetic knees compare with the current standard in TFA populations is needed to allow for improved clinical decision making and clinical outcomes.

This retrospective, prospective observational study aims to evaluate the epidemiology and rate of anterior cruciate ligament re- rupture after surgery in patients treated from January 2020 to December 2030 by recording both clinically and radiographically ligament reconstruction. The primary outcome is the rate of rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament as measured by the Lachmann test in which a positive value for re-rupture is an anterior translation of the tibia greater than 10mm relative to the femur Secondary Objectives: Verify predisposing factors to anterior cruciate ligament injuries (so anatomical factors such as tibial slope, trochlear groove), demographic factors (age, sex, weight, sports played), and the rate of return to sports, quality of life via questionnaires, and arthrosis at the operated knee

This is a prospective observational cohort study of platelet phenotype in pregnant patients at high-risk for the development preeclampsia. Blood samples will be collected prior to the initiation of daily aspirin and again in the second trimester to evaluate for platelet changes during pregnancy in patient's as a result of aspirin use and their association with adverse perinatal outcomes.

Effectiveness of Instrument-Assısted Soft Tissue Mobılızatıon in Patients With Operated Distal Radius Fracture

Distal radius fractures are the most common fractures when looking at upper extremity fractures . The incidence of distal radius fractures is increasing day by day, and when looking at the databases of various countries, the annual prevalence reaches 70,000 in the UK and 640,000 in the USA. Most of them are related to osteoporosis, and if appropriate treatment is not given, they cause loss of work capacity, permanent disability, and limitation in daily activities . There are publications showing that short immobilization and appropriate rehabilitation after surgery provide good clinical results. In cases that are not properly rehabilitated after surgery, there may be an average delay of 12 weeks in returning to normal life and returning to work. When patients who were given early mobilization and rehabilitation after surgery were examined, it was observed that there was a significant improvement in wrist functions, range of motion, and grip strength . Instrumented soft tissue mobilization is a unique soft tissue mobilization combined with active mobility and stretching exercises that is prescribed to increase joint range of motion in patients with musculoskeletal injuries. The various sizes and beveled edges of the stainless steel instruments allow physical therapists to tailor the treatment to different muscle structures that experience myofascial restrictions. Instrumented soft tissue mobilization aims to reduce fascial limitations by increasing circulation. Increases in localized blood flow and soft tissue realignment promote muscle function, increased normal joint movement, and decreased pain.
