Executive Function and Parenting in Childhood

Deficits in executive functioning (EF) disproportionately impact children living in poverty and increase risk for psychopathology, particularly disruptive behavior disorders. This randomized clinical trial seeks to determine whether childhood EF, assessed across neural and behavioral units of analysis, is an experimental therapeutic target that can be directly modified through caregiver participation in the Chicago Parent Program (CPP), if increases in EF predict reduced disruptive behavior trajectories in low-income children over a short-term follow-up period, and identify which CPP-driven parenting skill improvements are the most influential in modifying EF. This work will contribute new knowledge as to whether a cost-efficient parenting intervention, developed for and with low-income families raising young children in poverty, can modify EF, a neural behavioral mechanism implicated in risk for childhood disruptive behavior problems.

The goal of this prospective, randomized, single-blind controlled clinical study is to explore the efficacy of maintenance therapy with Sintilimab after chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The main questions it aims to answer are: How works well the Sintilimab was in the treatment group? How safe the Sintilimab is? Participants will intravenous Sintilimab or placebo (a look-alike substance that contains no active drug) within 1 month after the end of chemoradiotherapy, and 21 days is a cycle. Blood tests, electrocardiogram are rechecked every 2 cycles, and CT was rechecked every 4 cycles to evaluate toxicity and side effects and recurrence. Researchers will compare invention group to control group to see if the Sintilimab works well.

Impact of COPD on Sexual Health, Loneliness, and Well-being

Summary Person-centered care is a hot topic within healthcare, yet communication about patients' sexual health and intimacy issues remain too hot to handle within healthcare. Research indicates that sexual dysfunction and impaired sexual health are frequent among individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Despite patients expecting healthcare professionals to address intimacy issues; these issues are often neglected, since the topic is a taboo. This study aims to address a gap in observational research by investigating the physical, psychological and social aspects of sexual health in both men and women with and without COPD. The primary hypothesis of this survey-based cross-sectional study is that COPD negatively impacts sexual health, leading to increased loneliness, relationship dissatisfaction, anxiety and/or depression, along with decreased health-related quality of life and well-being in patients. The study seeks to identify associations between impaired sexual health and these factors. By fostering a new understanding of these aspects, this study is essential to promote person-centered communication about sexual health, addressing the often overlooked needs and concerns of individuals with COPD. Ultimately, the study has the potential to improve sexual health and overall well-being among individuals with COPD, contributing to a more person-centered approach in COPD care.

The observational, prospective, multicenter study enrolls patients experiencing symptomatic peripheral atherosclerotic disease in the lower limb, with or without chronic ischemic heart disease, and who have an indication for treatment with rivaroxaban 2.5 mg twice daily and ASA 100 mg. The study's objective is to assess adherence to the prescribed treatment after 3 months and 12 months from enrollment, as well as to monitor any adverse events that may occur during this period.
