Filter by:The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of continuous 24-hour intravenous infusion of lidocaine on the incidence of PPCs in patients undergoing emergency laparotomy for intra-abdominal infection (IAI).The secondary objectives of this study are to assess the impact of continuous 24-hour intravenous lidocaine infusion on the proportion of patients requiring mechanical ventilation, protection of important organ function during the perioperative period, length of hospital stay, and outcomes within 30 days postoperatively.
The goal of this retrospective randomized study is to compare two surgical techniques (single vs. double bundle) of ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstructions in participants with rupture of anterior cruciate ligament without major other injuries of the injured knee (exclusion criteria defined). The main question it aims to answer are: - which surgery gives better outcome in patients (short- and long-term results)? - are there any sings of osteoarthritis in an injured knee compared to a healthy knee? Participants will be invited to our clinic after 15 years to do clinical and functional exams with x-Ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of both knees. Subjective exams with different scores (Tegner score, Lysholm score..) were also done. The same exam protocol for participant was used again after two years and fifteen years since surgery.
This phase II MATCH treatment trial evaluates the effectiveness of osimertinib (AZD9291) in treating patients with cancer that has certain genetic changes called EGFR mutations. Osimertinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of mutant forms of the EGFR protein, which play a key role in tumor cell growth. Osimertinib may cause tumor cell death and inhibit tumor growth in EGFR-overexpressing tumor cells, thereby stopping or slowing the spread of tumor cells.
Although eating disorders often occur during or after puberty, it is likely that critical antecedent conditions can be established before adolescence. The Eating Disorder Examination has been adapted for children and is described by Bryant - Waugh, Cooper, Taylor and Lask (1996). The EDE is considered the gold standard of measures of eating disorder psychopathology (Wilson, 1993), and this adaptation, which allows its use with a younger age group, is a potentially important addition to the assessment of eating disorders in children. The latest version of EDE, the l7th edition, has now surpassed its predecessors. The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) up-titration in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.The main question it aims to answer is the improvement in prescription rate and dose uptitration of quadruple GDMT in patients with HFrEF, assessed by a weighed composite score. Participants will be randomized towards control (standard of care, SOC) or intervention group. Researchers will compare SOC with protocol-based up-titration to see if the protocolized optimization improves prescription rate of GDMT.
This is an observational study in which data already collected from people with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) are studied. ARDS is a life-threatening condition in which fluid builds up in the lungs making breathing difficult. In observational studies, only observations are made without participants receiving any advice or any changes to health care. People who are admitted to ICU for serious illnesses, like ARDS, often experience new health problems during and after their ICU stays. These health problems that may include physical, mental, and/or emotional disorders, are called post-intensive care syndrome (PICS). Identifying these new health problems early can help people by timely treatments and care. In this study, researchers want to identify any health problems that arise after ICU admission in people with ARDS in the United States (US). To do this, researchers will collect information on health problems, treatments, medicines, and healthcare visits in people with ARDS, 1 year before and after an ICU admission. They will then look to see whether the health problems are in areas that have been described as the post intensive care syndrome (PICS). In addition, they will measure healthcare related costs in the one year after admission and compare it to the one year prior to admission. Researchers will also compare this information with data collected for people with pneumonia who did not require ICU admission. This will help them to identify any new health problems arising due to ICU stays. The data will come from participants' medical claims information stored in the Optum Clinformatics Data Mart database from 2016 to 2022. The claims data will only be collected for people in the US. Researchers will collect data from participants admitted to ICU for ARDS for a maximum of 1 year before and after their stay.
This is an exploratory study of the efficacy and safety of IBI311, a modified anti-IGF-1R antibody, in patients with steroid-resistant, thyroid associated ophthalmopathy (TAO). This study includes two stages. Stage I is a single-center, single-arm, open-label clinical study designed to evaluate the safety and tolerability of IBI311 in subjects with TAO. Approximately 10 subjects meeting the study eligibility criteria will be enrolled. Stage II is a single-center, randomized, double-masked, placebo-controlled clinical trial designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of IBI311 in subjects with steroid-resistant TAO. Approximately 54 subjects meeting the study eligibility criteria will be randomly assigned to IBI311 or placebo on day 1 (D1) in a 2:1 ratio stratified by disease activity.
This multi-year cohort study will assess the real-world safety and effectiveness of 1L treatment with cemiplimab in combination with platinum-doublet chemotherapy across advanced NSCLC patient subgroups defined by age, sex, race, and ethnicity. Patients will be retrospectively identified from at least two US electronic health record (EHR)-based databases.
The Phase Ib/II study is an open-label, single-arm, multicenter trial designed to assess the efficacy and safety of Y101D in combination with Gemcitabine and Albumin Paclitaxel as first-line systemic treatment for advanced pancreatic cancer patients. The Phase Ib portion of the study aims to evaluate the safety of escalating doses of Y101D in combination with the standard regimen of Gemcitabine and Albumin Paclitaxel and determine the recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D). The Phase II portion of the study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this combination treatment in a small population of patients.
1. To investigate the effect of Virtual reality (VR) on phantom limb pain in trans tibial amputation. 2. To investigate the effect of Virtual reality (VR) on lower limb Function in trans tibial amputation. A sample size of 60 will be randomly allocated to two groups(30 in each group) , by using computer-generated random number list method. Control group will receive conventional physiotherapy(TENS- Phantom exercises and mirroring exercise) for reducing phantom pain in trans -tibial amputation and the experimental group will receive conventional physiotherapy(TENS- Phantom exercises and mirroring exercise) and Virtual Reality for reducing phantom pain in trans -tibial amputation .
