PPIO-007 Correlation Analysis of Type II Diabetes Mellitus on Short-term and Long-term Outcomes of Patients With Esophageal Squamous Cell Cancer Undergoing Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy

To date, there is controversy as to whether type II diabetes mellitus is associated with adverse short- and long-term outcomes in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma undergoing minimally invasive esophagectomy. At the same time, to the best of our knowledge, the impact of metformin use and glycemic control on short- and long-term outcomes in this patient population is also controversial. Therefore, this study aims to test the hypothesis that diabetes mellitus is associated with reduced survival in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma undergoing minimally invasive esophagectomy and that treatment with metformin and/or good glycemic control (HbA1c<7.0%) is associated with improved survival.

Acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF) is the most common cause of admission in the intensive care units (UCIs) worldwide. We will assess the value of machine learning (ML) techniques for early prediction of ICU death and prolonged duration (>7 days) of mechanical ventilation (MV) in 1,241 patients enrolled in the PANDORA (Prevalence AND Outcome of acute Respiratory fAilure) Study in Spain. The study was registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03145974). Our aim is to evaluate the minimum number of variables models using logistic regression and four supervised ML algorithms: Random Forest, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine and Multilayer Perceptron.

This study is seeking participants who were prescribed Tafamidis 61mg after being diagnosed with ATTR-CM and have taken Tafamidis 61mg at least once. We will examine the experiences of people receiving the study medicine. This will help us determine if the study medicine is safe and effective.

Neoadjuvant therapy is the standard diagnosis and treatment strategy for locally advanced rectal cancer defined by MRI in order to achieve tumor regression, thus affecting the selection of surgical strategy and circumferential margin, improving the safety of operation and the prognosis of patients. This study focused on the related clinical factors such as tumor regression before and after neoadjuvant therapy, combined with preoperative high-dimensional features such as radiomics, to predict the related factors of tumor regression of locally advanced rectal cancer, and validate it with multicenter. In order to develop an accurate model that can be applied to the real world and stratify the risk of locally advanced rectal cancer patients before treatment.

Effect of a Multifaceted Educational Intervention on the Implementation of Evidence-based Practices for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo in an Emergency Department

Acute vertigo accounts for around 4% of emergency room visits. Triggered episodic vestibular syndrome is the most commonly encountered symptomatic context. BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) is the main cause, representing 40-50% of the vertigo cases assessed in emergency departments. It results from the migration of calcium carbonate particles (otoliths), from the sticky membrane of the utricle and saccule of the inner ear, to one of the 3 semicircular canals (SCC), posterior, horizontal or lateral, and anterior. It occurs idiopathically with head movement, through degeneration, or following head trauma. The otolith impulse causes the endolymph to move, temporarily and aberrantly displacing the cup of the affected canal, resulting in the transmission of erroneous information to the vestibular nuclei. This leads to the sudden onset of vertigo and eye deviation, resulting in transient nystagmus. The location of the displaced otoliths determines the variant of BPPV: BPPV of the posterior semicircular canal is the most common (around 65% of BPPVs), followed by BPPV of the horizontal canal, while BPPV of the anterior canal is rare, as it resolves spontaneously and rapidly. Although a benign condition, BPPV leads 9 times out of 10 to a medical consultation, interruption of daily activities, or sick leave. Untreated, it will usually recur, and can impact on patients' quality of life.

Study Comparing the Pharmacokinetics, Safety, and Efficacy of RPH-075 and Keytruda® in Patients With Malignant Neoplasms

The goal of this double-blind, randomized study is to establish the equivalence of pharmacokinetic properties, as well as the comparability of safety, immunogenicity and pharmacodynamics of the drug RPH-075 (international nonproprietary name (INN) is pembrolizumab) in comparison with the drug Keytruda® (INN is pembrolizumab) after a single intravenous injection to patients with malignant neoplasms as a first or second line therapy in a monotherapy regimen. The main main tasks are: - To evaluate and compare the pharmacokinetic properties of RPH-075 and Keytruda® after a single intravenous administration of pembrolizumab to patients with malignant neoplasms; - To evaluate the safety profile of the drug RPH-075 in comparison with the drug Keytruda® when used in patients with malignant neoplasms when used as a 1st or 2nd line therapy in a monotherapy regimen. This study will also include a comparative assessment of immunogenicity, pharmacodynamic parameters and a pilot evaluation of RPH-075 efficacy.

The primary goal of the project is to test personalized medication experiments to inform decisions about future medication use. Our central hypothesis is that our intervention will lead to within subject increases in adolescent involvement in decision making and decreases in uncertainty about future medication use. The investigators view this open label trial as a pilot study to test the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of the medication experiment intervention and therefore warrants further testing in a future larger trial.
