Filter by:Prospective, observational, longitudinal study, September 2019 to March 2020 of all adult patients who required invasive mechanical ventilation treated at General Hospital of Zone 11 IMSS in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. The investigators aim to assess the relation of lung protective ventilation, mechanical power and driving pressure in mortality and SOFA of mechanically ventilated patients inside and outside ICU at the General Hospital of Zona 11 Piedras Negras, IMSS
Distal Hereditary Motor Neuropathy (dHMN) is a rare inherited neuromuscular disorder. It is characterised by distal weakness. The condition usually manifests in the second decade of life and progresses slowly. Though patients usually have a normal lifespan it is a disabling condition and most eventually need aids to walk. In order to improve walking quality in patient with dHMN, research is needed to understand the impairments that lead to altered gait patterns, and to develop interventions to correct walking gait conservatively. In this proposed trial our goal is to explore the relationships between muscle structure, function and gait patterns for people with Distal Hereditary Motor Neuropathy. Over 12 months, muscle changes in dHMN are going to be observed in terms of structure and function using MRI, myometry and 3D motion analysis. In addition, the effect of a 16 weeks exercises program on muscle structure and function in dHMN is going to be measured by the same observational methods. To address walking gait directly in dHMN, gait patterns with and without wearing carbon fibre ankle foot orthoses (AFO)will be measured using 3D motion analysis.
This is a retrospective, multicenter, non-interventional study for the evaluation of real-world efficacy and safety of ramucirumab plus paclitaxel in gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma as part of the establishment of hospital medical record collection system to evaluate drug effectiveness by Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA). The medical records in approximately 1400 patients with locally-advanced unresectable or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma, who have received ramucirumab plus paclitaxel combination therapy will be collected.
This study is intended to evaluate: 1. Any changes in the gut microbiome from baseline compared to end of study in both healthy (HIV-negative) subjects and HIV+ patients with or without chronic diarrhea, following one month of treatment with crofelemer (Mytesi), delayed release 125 mg tablets twice daily (BID) following one month of treatment. 2. The safety and tolerability of crofelemer, (Mytesi) delayed release 125 mg tablets BID in healthy (HIV-negative) volunteers and HIV+ patients following one month of treatment.
Introduction: The concept of immediate implant placement has become popular due to reduced trauma and reduced overall treatment time. Removal of molar teeth provides a challenging and intriguing dilemma due to multiple root morphology. In cases of extraction and immediate placement of implants in the molar region, removal of the inter-radicular septum should be avoided to attain initial implant stability at the time of placement, and prevent slipping of the implant into the extraction socket. Following this technique prevents the slippage of the implant and allows the implant to be guided into the inter-radicular septum. Objectives: To assess the accuracy of implant placement using the remaining roots of multi-radicular mandibular molars, evaluate bone density around implants and implant stability in fresh extracted site. Materials and Methods: A prospective study was done on 10 patients with badly destructed mandibular molars. The technique of implant insertion consisted of a progressive preparation of the implant site using the anatomy of the root of the multi-radicular mandibular molars to be extracted as a reference and as an aid to engage the inter-radicular septum.
The aim of this study is to conduct a randomized control trial (RCT) to assess the efficacy of weighted blankets (WB), on anxiety for patients with severe anorexia nervosa (AN) and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) in an inpatient medical setting. We hypothesize that using weighted blankets will reduce anxiety in these patient populations.
The investigators decided to assess the prognostic value of NLRP3 inflammasome level in early after heart valve replacement surgery and whether it was related to postoperative cognitive dysfunction. Study population included 90 subjects. Neuropsychological tests were administrated one day before surgery and seven days after surgery. Before induction of anesthesia, before the end of the operation, 7 days after the operation, peripheral venous blood was sampled to measure IL-1B, IL-18 and NLRP3 inflammatory protein expression in peripheral blood monocytes. Analyze the data and draw conclusions.
This phase Ib/II trial studies the best dose and side effects of siltuximab and how well it works in combination with spartalizumab in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Monoclonal antibodies, such as siltuximab and spartalizumab, interfere with the ability of tumors cells to grow and spread.
Recent peer-reviewed observational evidence suggests that school children receive anywhere from 10-33 minutes of seated lunch time and that students with less time to eat discard higher amounts of milk, entrée (i.e. protein items), grains, and vegetables. This waste is a missed nutritional and food security opportunity and also negatively impacts the environment. The purpose of this study is to estimate the impact that lunch time constraints have on child food selection, consumption and waste behaviors using a crossover trial design, where the duration of seated lunch times are randomly allocated to be either 10 minutes or 20 minutes each day.
Intubated preterm infants between 800-1200 grams and under 32 weeks of gestational age will start with PRVC ventilation mode, basal blood gases and work of breathing will measured. After that mode will shift to Bilevel Volume Guarantee mode for two hours than clinical and other parameters will be checked again. After this intervention, patients will allocated to PRVC or Bilevel VG group for remaining time.
