Brain Mechanisms of Attention and Pain in Youth With FAPD

The objectives of this study are to identify neural mechanisms of increased pain in pediatric FAPD and examine mechanisms of disrupted attention in the presence of induced pain. The overarching goal is to determine whether youth with FAPD process pain differently than healthy youth and to identify the brain areas involved.

The main aim of this study is to learn about the time from start of mobocertinib to end of treatment with mobocertinib for any reason in Chinese adults with lung cancer who carry a certain gene mutation (epidermial growth factor receptor - EGFR exon 20 insertion mutation) during normal clinical practice. Participants will be treated with mobocertinib as per their normal routine. Data for this study will be collected from the available medical records of a participant.

Liberating Technologies, Inc. (LTI) has developed Pointdexter, a dexterous prosthetic fingertip that is integrated into a commercial prosthetic hand and allows for an additional fine grasp. The Pointdexter device interfaces with upper limb prostheses by swapping the usual prosthetic pointer finger with the Pointdexter device. The dexterous prosthetic fingertip utilizes the same control strategy used to operate the prosthetic hand. This solution aims to combine the advantages of the common terminal devices into one product by combining the practicality and dexterity of a split-hook or gripper with the aesthetics of multi-articulating hands.

Combination Diuretic Therapy for Acute Decompensated Heart Failure

Patients with heart failure are often admitted to the hospital because they have accumulated excessive amounts of fluid, they become short of breath and congested with fluid. Removing the excess fluid is necessary to improve the patients symptoms and reduce the risk of being re-admitted to the hospital. Diuretics ("water pills") are often given through an IV to accelerate the fluid removal. Furosemide is commonly used for fluid removal, however some patients do not respond well to the medication. There are other diuretics available that can work in conjunction with furosemide and increase the rate of fluid removal. The other "water pills" have slightly different mechanisms of action in the body compared to furosemide and when combined they may increase fluid removal. The investigators hypothesize that adding chlorothiazide to furosemide will result in quicker and more effective fluid removal in heart failure patients.

Testing the Addition of Immunotherapy With Hu5F9-G4 (Magrolimab) to the Usual PARP Inhibitor, Olaparib for Treatment of Metastatic or Recurrent Breast or Castrate-Resistant Prostate Cancer With BRCA Mutations

This phase I/Ib trial studies the side effects and best dose of Hu5F9-G4 (magrolimab) when given in combination with olaparib for the treatment of patients with breast or castrate-resistant prostate cancer that have spread from where they first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic) or have come back after a period of improvement (recurrent) and have mutations in the BRCA1/2 genes. Magrolimab is a monoclonal antibody with potential anticancer activity and the cability to stimulate the immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. A monoclonal antibody is a type of protein that can bind to certain targets in the body, such as molecules that cause the body to make an immune response (antigens). Olaparib is an inhibitor of PARP, an enzyme that helps repair deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) when it becomes damaged. Blocking PARP may help keep tumor cells from repairing their damaged DNA, causing them to die. PARP inhibitors are a type of targeted therapy. Combination therapy with magrolimab and olaparib may be safe and effective in treating BRCA-mutated metastatic or recurrent breast or castrate-resistant prostate cancer.

This study will look to implement a plan for enhanced transitional care for patients at high risk of unplanned hospital readmission in hopes of reducing their risk for readmission in the first 30 days post discharge from an inpatient encounter. Hospital readmissions are an undesirable occurrence that can increase cost for hospitals, and can cause further negative outcomes for patients. Identifying factors that increase a patient's chances of being readmitted to the hospital, as well as developing an intervention to effectively reduce this risk, has historically been challenging. Our new method uses a combination of common features such as diagnosis and length of hospital stay, with a novel artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm, the RecuR Score model developed by the University of Maryland Medical System, that identifies patients at the highest risk of having an unplanned hospital readmission. Participants identified as higher risk will then be enrolled into our pilot where they will be randomized to receive either the standard of care treatment or an enhanced protocol that includes additional disease education, coordination of home health services, and a focus on their readmission during existing multidisciplinary team huddles. The main goal of this study is to reduce unplanned hospital readmission within 30 days of initial discharge, in those most at risk of being readmitted, using the aforementioned novel methods for identifying these participants and a transitional care intervention. This success of this goal will be analyzed across different readmission risk levels in the study population. Secondary goals of this study include reducing unplanned hospital readmission within 90 days, reducing 30-day post-discharge mortality, and reducing 30- and 90-day emergency department (ED) usage after an initial hospitalization.

The main aim of this study is to learn about metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) in children and teenagers in Spain. This includes checking the number of new MLD cases and the frequency of children with MLD in 2022 in Spain. There is no treatment involved in this study. Participants' data will be taken from their medical records (charts), which were already collected as a part of their routine care between 01 January 2000 and 31 December 2022.
