NCT ID: NCT03184532 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Evaluation of ASA Fasting Recommendations in Diabetic Patients

Bedside Gastric Ultrasound for Assessment of ASA Preoperative Starving Guidelines Accuracy: Diabetic vs Non Diabetic Patients

gastric US
Start date: July 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

To reduce the risk of perioperative pulmonary aspiration of gastric contents, oral intake of liquids or solids is not allowed for certain periods. Acute Post Streptococcal Glomerulonephritis

Start date: June 27, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Acute post streptococcal glomerulonephritis is an immunologic response of the kidney to infection, characterized by the sudden appearance of edema, hematuria, proteinuria and hypertension . NCT ID: NCT03183180 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Secondary Cardiac Damage in Rheumatic Fever

Prevalence of Secondary Cardiac Damage in Rheumatic Fever Patients and Penicillin Secondary Prophylaxis

Start date: June 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

According to American Heart Association criteria, patients who have had Rheumatic Fever (RF) should be treated with antibiotic prophylaxis. Continuous prophylaxis is recommended in patients with well-documented histories of RF and in those with evidence of rheumatic heart disease. There is a limited data regarding adherence of patients to treatment and efficacy of treatment. In this study, patients with RF who are older than 21 years will be collected from a computerized database of 'Maccabi Healthcare Services', one of the biggest Israeli Health Funds. Patients will be assigned to the study after obtaining informed consent. Previous adherence to antibiotic prophylaxis will be examined according to computerized database of drugs which were issued to the patient since RF diagnosis. Past history of cardiac involvement, including past Echocardiograms, will be collected from computerized database. In addition, the current cardiac state will be assessed by an experienced cardiologist, including a full new Echocardiogram examination.

NCT ID: NCT03182855 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

Cangrelor vs. Ticagrelor for Early Platelet Inhibition in STEMI

CanTi
Start date: September 1, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This randomized, controlled trial compares the anti-thrombotic effect of cangrelor and ticagrelor on platelet activity in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Patients will receive either prehospital ticagrelor (180 mg - crushed) or in-hospital cangrelor (bolus 30 μg/kg within 1 minute followed by infusion (4 μg/kg/minute) for two hours) followed by 180 mg ticagrelor. The primary study end-point is platelet reactivity at sheath insertion, at the end of the PCI procedure (before sheath removal) and two hours after PCI is initiated. The secondary end-point is the proportion of patients with inappropriate or harmful P2Y12 administration.

NCT ID: NCT03180970 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Image Quality of Early Esophageal Squamous Neoplasia

Different Lugol's Solution Concentration for Image Quality of Esophageal Lesions in Chromoendoscopy With Iodine Staining

Start date: June 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess whether lower Lugol's solution concentration can perceive the same image quality of early esophageal squamous neoplasia.

NCT ID: NCT03180723 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis

Effect of Rituximab in Treatment of Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis

Start date: July 1, 2017
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Type I membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis (MPGN) is a relatively uncommon glomerular disease, constituting 1.8% of renal biopsies performed in Rochester, minnesota, United States of America, at the Mayo Clinic, between 1993 and 2008. The prognosis of idiopathic Type I MPGN is relatively poor. Recently, Irish series, slightly more than 50% of patients developed end stage renal disease after a mean follow up of 14 years . The disease may recur after renal transplantation . High-dose glucocorticoids have been used to treat this disease in children but there is no established treatment in adults.
