Filter by:The main objective of this study is to investigate the optimal anesthesia for obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery in the strategies of positive pulmonary ventilation, tracheal intubation technique, hemodynamic monitoring, and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) prophylaxis, as the followed: 1. To evaluate the effectiveness and adverse effect of intravenous dexamethasone for PONV prophylaxis 2. To determine the safe inspiratory pressure to prevent the occurrence of gastric insufflation during facemask ventilation using point-of-care ultrasonography of antrum 3. To compare the effectiveness and safety between video intubating stylet and video laryngoscope in the placement of tracheal tubes 4. To apply minimally invasive CO monitors in guiding goal-directed hemodynamic therapy and assess its impact on major complications and postoperative recovery
This phase Ib trial finds out the best dose, possible benefits and/or side effects of BAY1895344 and copanlisib in treating molecularly selected patients with solid tumors that have spread to other places in the body (advanced). BAY1895344 and copanlisib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving BAY1895344 and copanlisib together may help control the progression of the disease in patients with advanced solid tumors.
To compare the following: 1. The efficacy of sabizabulin monotherapy to sacituzumab govitecan-hziy monotherapy 2. The efficacy of sacituzumab govitecan-hziy/sabizabulin combination therapy to sacituzumab govitecan-hziy monotherapy These comparisons will be made in the efficacy in the treatment of metastatic triple negative breast cancer (mTNBC) in patients previously treated with at least two systemic chemotherapies for metastatic disease as measured by radiographic progression free survival (rPFS) as the primary endpoint.

A single center study to evaluate the effect of inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) on pulmonary dynamics in patients presenting with imaging confirmed intermediate/submassive or massive pulmonary embolism (PE). The target enrollment is 20 subjects at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. PE patients undergoing catheter-based intervention will be administered iNO during their intervention and pulmonary hemodynamic measurement will be measured before, during, and after iNO administration (Invasive Cohort). Patients who are not undergoing catheter-based intervention will also be administered iNO and will have pulmonary hemodynamics, blood pressure, and heart rate measured non-invasively (Non-Invasive Cohort).
This phase I trial identifies the best dose and side effects of CpG-STAT3 siRNA CAS3/SS3 (CAS3/SS3) in combination with localized radiation therapy in treating patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has come back (relapsed) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). CAS3/SS3 simultaneously targets two molecules, TLR9 receptor and STAT3. This investigational drug combines a CpG oligonucleotide and an siRNA in one molecule that act together to interfere with the ability of the cancer cells to grow. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Giving CAS3/SS3 with localized radiation therapy may kill more cancer cells.
Approximately 50 ABA+ subjects with resectable, Stage III (IIIB, IIIC, or IIID) melanoma will be included in the study and randomized in a 3:2 ratio to neoadjuvant treatment with Imprime PGG plus pembrolizumab vs. pembrolizumab monotherapy. A baseline, reference biopsy and a PET/CT scan will be obtained prior to commencing 3 cycles (9 weeks) of neoadjuvant treatment with either regimen. During Week 5, subjects will provide another biopsy to assess treatment effects on the tumor and its microenvironment. At the completion of neoadjuvant treatment and before surgery, subjects will undergo another PET/CT scan to assess radiological and metabolic response compared to baseline.
The purpose of this study is to test the safety & efficacy of combination drugs versus placebo to treat metastatic melanoma and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
This phase II trial studies the use of Ion robotic bronchoscope with a mobile computed tomography (CT) scanner to biopsy tumors and inject a fluorescent dye called indocyanine green to mark the tumor during surgery in patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer or cancer that has spread to the lung (lung metastases). Sometimes small tumors or those that are not on the surface of the lung can be challenging to remove without making larger incisions. Injecting the dye, may help doctors see the tumor more easily, which may allow for smaller incisions and by being able to see the tumor, doctors may be better able to decide where to make the incisions in order to get all of the tumor out.
