NCT ID: NCT01068405 Recruiting - Polyarthritis Clinical Trials

Erosive Osteoarthritis of the Hands: Treatment by Methotrexate Versus Placebo

ADEM
Start date: March 2010
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Interest of methotrexate in inflammatory rheumatisms was demonstrated since several years. At present time, there is no effective treatment against digital arthritis. The investigators purpose to measure the efficacy of methotrexate on digital arthritis. In this aim, two groups were compared. The first group receive 10mg/week of methotrexate administered in one shot (every Monday for example)during 12 months. The second group receive 10mg/week of placebo according to the same procedure

NCT ID: NCT01028469 Recruiting - Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Artelon Metatarsophalangeal (MTP) Spacer

Start date: December 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this prospective, case series is to evaluate the surgical treatment of painful and disabling osteoarthrosis in the MTP-I joint by insertion of an Artelon MTP Spacer.

NCT ID: NCT01020591 Recruiting - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

The Effect of Osteopathic Manual Therapy on the Vascular Supply to the Lower Extremity, Function and Symptoms of Subjects With Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: December 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if the use of osteopathic manual therapy can influence the vascular supply to the knee, knee range of motion, balance and knee pain, in a group of subjects with knee osteoarthritis. It is also the objective of this study to determine if there is a difference between the osteopathic evaluation and the combination of an osteopathic evaluation and treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00992082 Recruiting - Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Local Infiltration Analgesia or Intrathecal Morphine in Total Knee Arthroplasty

Start date: August 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether local infiltration analgesia is more effective than intrathecal morphine in reducing postoperative pain in total knee arthroplasty.

NCT ID: NCT00954629 Recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

A Study of the Efficacy and Safety of 2PX in Patients With Pain Due to Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Start date: June 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the superiority of topically administered 2PX versus placebo (vehicle) control in terms of reduction in pain intensity and physical function.

NCT ID: NCT00950326 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Hip or Knee

A Comparison of Kneipp Hydrotherapy With Conventional Physiotherapy in the Treatment of Osteoarthritis of the Hip or Knee: Protocol of a Prospective Randomised Controlled Clinical Trial

Start date: January 2009
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The study design consists of a prospective randomised controlled three-armed clinical trial, which will be carried out at a specialist clinic for integrative medicine, to investigate the clinical effects of hydrotherapy on osteoarthritis of the knee or hip joint, in comparison with conventional physiotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT00891501 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Degenerative Arthritis

The Use of Autologous Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells in the Treatment of Articular Cartilage Defects

Start date: November 2006
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is conducted to assess whether implanting autologous, culture-expanded, mesenchymal stem cells obtained from the bone marrow of patients with early osteoarthritis, cartilage defects or cartilage and underlying bone and cartilage (osteochondral) defects in joints is effective in the treatment of such conditions and alleviation of patients symptoms.

NCT ID: NCT00838487 Recruiting - Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Evaluate Safety & Efficacy of Condroflex in Subjects With OA

ZD20108
Start date: March 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Primary Objective: To compare, after 12 weeks of double-blind treatment, the evolution of the improvement of pain (at rest and during / after exercise) in the questionnaire WOMAC (Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index), achieved with Condroflex ® oral administration(sulfate glucosamine + chondroitin sulfate sodium) in association with therapeutic exercises, compared to placebo in association with therapeutic exercises in individuals with knee OA and not exposed to prior treatment with the products under investigation.

NCT ID: NCT00724139 Recruiting - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

The Effect of Training With Custom-Made Biomechanical Perturbation Platform on Kinetics, Kinematics and Electromyography in Knee Osteoarthritis Patients

Start date: January 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to evaluate the outcome of specific repetitive biomechanical perturbation training on motor patterns. The first hypothesis of this project is that footwear derived biomechanical challenges will convey active and passive matching biomechanical responses (i.e. kinetic, kinematic and electromyographic) trough out the musculoskeletal kinematic chain. The second hypothesis of the project is that repetitive exposure to in-situ (trough out the gait sickle) introduction to a biomechanical stimulus would generate a process of motor learning thus conveying plasticity of existing locomotor patterns and gait strategies.

NCT ID: NCT00669201 Recruiting - Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Wrist Cartilage - High Resolution in Vivo MR T2 Mapping- a Feasibility Study

Start date: December 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Purpose:Evaluate the feasibility of T2 cartilage mapping on MRI of the wrist and correlate with T2 mapping of knee cartilage. Study protocol: Phase 1. 10 healthy volunteers, Phase 2. 10 volunteers with osteoarthritis of the wrist, Phase 3. 50 patients for studies for routine MR of the wrist. MRI protocol: 3 T unit((Signa EXITE HDx),T1, T2 and T2 mapping sequences on axial and coronal orientation.
