Radio-frequency Ablation in Knee Osteoarthritis by Three Needles Technique

The study is designed to evaluate and compare the efficacy of three needles approach as a new technique in radiofrequency neurotomy of genicular nerve versus the traditional single needle approach as a treatment of advanced knee osteoarthritic pain. Primary outcome: 1. Pain intensity via the visual analogue score (VAS). 2. Function and pain via the Oxford Knee Score. Evaluated after 6 months of the procedure Secondary outcome: 1. Failure rate. 2. Incidence of any complication. 3. Total analgesic requirement during the period of follow up.

Influence of Manual Physical Therapy on Habitual Activity in Knee Osteoarthritis

The investigators assessed overall physical activity and sleep quality in subjects with knee osteoarthritis(OA) at baseline, and at four and 12 weeks following initiation of physical therapy. Subjects received a course of manual physical therapy with interventions targeted to relevant impairments in the lower quarter. No progressive activity intervention or guidance on sleep hygiene was included. The purpose of this study was to assess a relationship between manual physical therapy and habitual physical activity and sleep behavior in individuals with knee OA.

Tibial and Femoral Components Migration and Adaptive Bone Remodeling After Insertion of Persona® TKA

The purpose of this study: In a prospective randomized study with 2 years of follow-up we want to compare the migration of the uncemented trabecular metal (TM) versus the cemented tibial and femoral components of the new Persona® total knee arthroplasty (TKA) assessed by model based radiostereometric analysis (MB-RSA). Also, we want to compare the adaptive bone remodeling induced by the uncemented TM versus the cemented tibial and femoral components of the new Persona® TKA assessed by dual energy-X-ray (DEXA). Data generated for both above mentioned, will be also compared with historical RSA and DEXA data for the NexGen TKA using TM tibia modular and monoblock.

Assessment of the Effect of Spa Treatment on Rheumatological Conditions

1. Primary outcome measure: measuring the effect of spa treatment in patients suffering from lower limb osteoarthritis or any other lower limb rheumatological condition. Percentage of patients with minimum 19,9 mm decrease in pain Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) or WOMAC score (Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index) improvement of at least 9 points (minimal clinically important difference), 6 months after enrollment. Secondary outcome measures: 2. Measuring the effect of spa treatment in patients with concomitant chronic lower back pain. Percentage of patients presenting clinical benefits according to the EIFEL score, with a decrease of at least 5 points, 6 months after enrollment. 3. Quantitative evaluation of pain. Mean pain VAS comparison between enrollment and 6 months after spa treatment. 4. Quantitative evaluation of WOMAC score. Mean WOMAC score comparison between enrollment and 6 months after spa treatment. 5. Quantitative evaluation of EIFEL score. Mean EIFEL score comparison between enrollment and 6 months after spa treatment. 6. Impact of spa treatment on the patient's metabolism. Height and weight (BMI calculation), blood pressure and heart rate measured at enrollment and throughout the follow-up. 7. 8. Quality of life. 36-Item Short Form (SF 36) and EuroQol 5 Dimensions (EQ5D) questionnaires at enrollment, 3 months and 6 months. 9. Doctor and patient opinion. Semi-quantitative scale collected at enrollment, 3 months and 6 months. 10. Medicine consumption Daily medicine consumption evaluated upon the 72 hours preceding the medical visit at enrollment, 3 months and 6 months. 11. Auto-evaluation of pain VAS pain evaluation by the patient every 6 weeks for a more precise time frame of the treatment's effect.

Ankle osteoarthritis (OA) is a painful, progressive condition that can severely limit physical activity and reduce quality of life. Rocker bottom (RB) shoes and ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) are commonly used as non-surgical treatments for ankle OA. RB shoes have a curved sole in the toe to heel direction that may alleviate joint pain by reducing ankle range of motion (ROM). Similarly, AFOs may reduce joint motion by securing the foot and ankle within the ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) frame. This study aims to determine the ability of RB shoes and AFOs to improve mobility, by relieving pain and reducing joint ROM.
