NCT ID: NCT06406231 Recruiting - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Magnetic Field Therapy Versus Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve-stimulation in Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: September 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The effectiveness of PEMF in improving physical function among Osteoarthritic (OA) patients remains a topic of debate, leading to the American College of Rheumatology not yet endorsing its use in OA treatment. Therefore, it's essential to investigate PEMF therapy's efficacy in alleviating joint pain, stiffness, and enhancing physical function in knee OA patients Our study objectives were to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of PEMF therapy and to compare its efficacy with TENS in knee OA management.

NCT ID: NCT06401018 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Comparison of Music and Ambient Noise Cancellation in Patients Undergoing Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)

TKA
Start date: March 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this clinical trial is to compare the effects of music and ambient noise cancellation during total knee arthroplasty and to analyse the effects on patients. The study will also collect information on patients' functional knee scores and anxiety levels. The main questions to be answered are the following: Does the blocking of music or ambient noise, which is predicted to reduce anxiety, reduce people's anxiety levels? To what extent are participants affected by ambient noise? Does music or ambient noise blocking lead to an improvement in patients' functional scores? The researchers will work with 3 groups of patients who will be exposed to ambient noise blocking, music playing and ambient noise during knee replacement surgery. Participants will do the following: Be asked questions about anxiety and knee function scores before and after surgery. Attend clinical examinations at specified times for checks and tests. Outcomes will be assessed and recorded at appropriate times.

NCT ID: NCT06391554 Recruiting - Hip Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Effects of EDUcation and EXercise Compared to Education Alone on Clinical and Physiological Outcomes in Patients With Hip Osteoarthritis

EDUEX
Start date: May 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The EDUEX trial will determine whether the addition of progressive resistance training (PRT) to a patient education program (EDU) will improve clinical outcomes in patients with hip OA. In a subsample, the effect of PRT on the articular cartilage and other structures of the hip joint is investigated. In this subsample, a comprehensive assessment of possible mechanisms underlying the effects of exercise on pain and function is undertaken. The EduEx trial will be a multicentre, stratified (by site), block randomized (allocation 1:1), controlled, parallel-group superiority trial. 150 people with hip OA will be recruited from hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, social media and newspapers. Participants will be randomized to PRT and EDU or EDU alone. All 150 participants will be included in the clinical evaluation study (CLIN). The last 40 participants randomized to PRT+EDU and to EDU, respectively, will also be included in the mechanistic (MECH) evaluation study (n=80), by being asked to participate in additional outcome assessments. The primary endpoint will be the 12 months follow-up for both the CLIN and MECH study, while a secondary endpoint will be the 3-month follow-up.

NCT ID: NCT06379893 Recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

A Real-World Evidence Study to Evaluate the Effects of Voltaren Use on Mobility and Quality of Life in Participants With Knee Osteoarthritis Pain

Start date: April 25, 2024
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate how topical diclofenac use can improve functional mobility and physical activity primarily, as well as other quality-of-life (QoL) parameters such as sleep, mood, and engagement in daily activities in participants with knee OA.

NCT ID: NCT06377813 Recruiting - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Combined Mode-Kinetic Chain Exercise With and Without Core Stability Exercises on Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: November 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this [type of study: Randomized control trial] is to [ see the effects of Combined Mode Kinetic Chain Exercises along with or without core stability exercises on pain, range of motion and disability ] in [ in patients with Knee Osteoarthritis].The main question it aims to answer is: Wether core stability exercises is effective if performed along with Combined chain kinetic exercises to improves the condition of Knee Osteoarthritis? Group A will receive Core Stability Exercises along with Combined Chain Kinetic Exercises and Group B will receive combined Chain Kinetic Exercises.

NCT ID: NCT06367283 Recruiting - Hand Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Metformin Treatment of Patients With Hand Osteoarthritis

METRO
Start date: June 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To compare metformin (2 g daily), or maximum tolerated dose, for 16 weeks with placebo as a treatment of hand osteoarthritis symptoms.

NCT ID: NCT06359301 Recruiting - Hip, Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

H-34 DELTA Revision Cup

Start date: September 14, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

THis study is aimed to provide a clinical and radiographic evaluation of 49 suitable subjects who underwent a total hip arthroplasty with DELTA Revision acetabular cup.

NCT ID: NCT06359171 Recruiting - Knee Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of the ARTH-e Application on Adherence to Physical Exercises in Patients Suffering From KOA: RCT

ARTH-e3
Start date: May 14, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of a smartphone-based e-health application (intervention group) compared with standard care (control group) in terms of changes in adherence in patients with knee osteoarthritis using the EARS questionnaire. In addition, other questionnaires presented in the appendix (KOOS, TSK, EPAP, EQ-5D-3L, pain) will be given to all patients in order to meet the secondary evaluation criteria.
