Filter by:This study seeks to determine if the correction of a sacroiliac lesion can produce a functional change in cervical spine. Reduction of a sacroiliac joint lesion may alter cervical spine function.
Sickness absenteeism caused by MSDs is a persistent and expensive health challenge in all industrial countries including Switzerland. Despite much progress as to the cause and prevention of MSDs, they continue to be some of the most prevalent and challenging health problems with respect to the work-place and to socio-economic burden. To improve the situation, several recent reviews recommended interventions based on the bio-psycho-social model. Work-hardening and industrial rehabilitation programs focused more on the in balance between physical and mental demands of work on one side and capacities of the individual on the other side. Therefore we propose to merge the two models into one. The result is an interdisciplinary intervention strategy witch includes work hardening, medical trainings, a cognitive behavioural approach and work place intervention.

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders(MSD)are very common,which account for most of the occupational compensation in U.S.A。According to the epidemiological surveys,injured sites are frequent at low back,neck and shoulder and upper extremity。Although the MSD will not threaten the lives,they result in discomfort,some cost much and decrease the productivity。There was little study in our country to reveal the risk factors of medical utilization and disabling of MSD。Therefore,we do not have well-established strategy of the assessment and treatment for the workers who can not return to work。The purposes of this study are:1、To have sequential surveys to find the prevalence,incidence and possible risk factors of work-related MSD of employees in different industries and their medical utilization and disabled conditions。2、To find the victims of work-related MSD from clinics,assess their disablement and if they return to work and to find the factors those prevent them return to work。3、To develop individualized work hardening programs for the victims who can not return to wok after treatment。The program will be established according to their injuries and their work characteristics。
This clinical study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of hylan G-F 20 (Synvisc) in patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis (OA). Patients will be given 6 mL of hylan G-F 20 (Synvisc) (or a phosphate buffered saline control), with a possible repeat treatment with Synvisc after the week 26 visit.
This is a clinical study to investigate the safety and efficacy of Synvisc and Depo-Medrol in treating patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip.
This clinical study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Synvisc in patients with symptomatic shoulder osteoarthritis (OA). Patients will be given Synvisc, with the possible administration of a second injection where insufficient symptomatic pain relief was experienced during the 3 month follow up period.
