The main aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Individualized Meta-Cognitive Training (EMC +), in people with psychosis of brief evolution on symptoms, especially on positive symptoms. Secondary aims would be to assess the effect of EMC+ in metacognition, psychosocial and neuropsychological functioning, and to assess the maintenance of program effects on 6 months.

Social Cognition and Interaction Training (SCIT) for Taiwanese People With Severe Mental Illness

Social cognition dysfunction (including emotional perception, theory of mind, and attribution bias) is a common dysfunction in serious mental illness, which may influence their life roles and daily functions. The social cognition and interaction training (SCIT) is a manual-guide group intervention that can apply to people with serious mental illness.Thus this study aims to conduct SCIT groups in Taiwan to investigate its feasibility and effectiveness. This study will include 30 clients. Investigators will randomly allot participants into two group, and conduct a crossover design. The experimental group will receive a 60-minutes manual-guide SCIT session each week for 20 times, which will be leaded by 2 licensed occupational therapists. After the intervention, investigators will analyze demographic data and compare the difference between experimental group and control group on the social cognition performance.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the TOVERTAFEL System on Behavioral Disorders

The prevalence of behavioral disorders is high in patients living in an institutional environment or hospitalized in a long-term care unit. The consequences of these symptoms are not negligible with a faster cognitive decline and a significant impact on the life of the institution and of other patients when the disorders are pervasive and too difficult to manage for the healthcare teams. Despite the daily attention paid to these disorders and their causes, especially the environmental ones, the teams are sometimes helpless, the teams are sometimes helpless today to fight against these symptoms, and their management thus constitutes a real challenge. Non-drug interventions targeting this problem often require additional training, architectural installations (Snoezelen space) and / or are moderately effective. In order to offer a solution that can be used by everyone, that is transportable and based on new technologies, the TOVERTAFEL device was created. These are interactive games projected onto a table using a ceiling projector. The light animations invite people to "play with the light" using arm or hand movements. These games stimulate residents' physical activity and encourage interactions between residents and with caregivers. In this study, it is a question of evaluating the effectiveness of the TOVERTAFEL device on the frequent behavioral symptoms in dementia (agitation, ambulation, apathy, anxiety), the quality of life of the patients, as well as on psychotropic treatments.

Improving Self-regulation in Children With Neurodevelopmental Disorders:

Children with neurodevelopmental disorders may show difficulties in self-regulation. The main objective of this study is to improve self-regulation skills in children between 6 and 11 years old with neurodevelopmental disorders. Methodology: A randomized controlled trial will be conducted with the use of "SF-MRehab: Un colegio emocionante", a non-inmersive virtual reality system where virtual objects can be managed by children in a natural way by using their hands. Children will be recruited from several schools from Granada (Spain) and they will be randomly allocated to two groups. Assessment will be conducted before and after the intervention as well as 24 weeks after the end of the intervention process. Experimental group will receive the intervention using virtual reality. Control group will receive the intervention through a standard self-regulation program. Both interventions will be performed once a week for a total of 10 sessions. Changes in self-regulation, as well as acceptability of technology with the use of SR-MRehab will be evaluated. The results will be published and will contribute with evidence regarding the use of this type of intervention on children with neurodevelopmental disorders

Hormonal and Inflammatory Biomarkers and Response to Cognitive Remediation in Recent-onset Psychosis

This study aims to explore whether hormones or inflammatory markers are associated with cognitive changes following cognitive remediation therapy (CRT) in people with a recent-onset psychotic disorder. The following biomarkers for treatment response will be considered: hormones related to the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis (plasma cortisol, cortisol awakening response, diurnal cortisol slope, salivary cortisol at assessment), free thyroxine (F-T4), prolactin, or inflammatory markers. This study was designed as a pilot clinical trial in order to know the feasibility of the intervention and to calculate the effect sizes of different hormonal and inflammatory variables on cognition. This approach would allow the design of future larger clinical trials to test specific hypotheses generated with this study.

Caracteristics of the Patients Hospitalized With Unvonluntary Commitment Procedure, in the Context COVID-19

The actual worldwide context (disease outbreak, confinements instaured in many countries) is a stressful factor for many people. It can have consequences on mental health : separation from loved ones, loss of freedom, uncertainty about infection status, boredom. Patients with mental disorders are especially vulnerable. On march 17th, the french government ordonned a national confinement to slow the progression of the COVID-19 outbreak, for 15 days at first then renewed several times. This situation has led to a reorganization of care as requested on March 22nd, 2020 in the recommendations applicable to the organization of care in psychiatric services : priority to telephone contacts and teleconsultation by multiplying contacts and assessments. By the time the reorganization of care became operational, the most vulnerable patients may have experienced a decompensation of their disease. It is important to know if the COVID-19 outbreak combined with the confinement increased the number of unvoluntary commitment the month after the announce of the confinement. This could help us understand which patients are more vulnerable is this context, and improve our organization (ambulatory and hospitalization care) if this situation occurs again.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for Psychosis

The broad goals of our pilot study are to (1) determine whether psychodynamic psychotherapy for psychosis (PPfP), relative to treatment as usual (TaU), can maintain or augment clinical and functional benefits for patients who have achieved initial recovery in our coordinated specialty care (CSC) early psychosis treatment program; (2) to conduct novel empirical study of how various psychodynamic factors may inform candidate selection, mediate therapeutic effects, and influence relational aspects of the therapy; and (3) to conduct a detailed study of how features of therapist and patient speech and behavior influence therapeutic outcomes, therapeutic alliance alliance, and relational process. This registration focuses on the first goal.

Self-Stigma of Mental and Physical Health

People with mental disorders often suffer from self-stigmatization. Self-stigma is associated with several negative outcomes such as low quality of life, lower rates of help-seeking as well as poorer treatment adherence. However, a lot of questionnaires only focus on specific mental disorders. There is no valid measurement which can be used for all kinds of mental disorders. Furthermore, much less is known about self-stigma in people with organic diseases. Only little attention has been given to those who may experience self-stigma because of their physical condition. A main reason for this may be the lack of a valid measurement of self-stigma among people with physical health issues. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop and validate a self-report scale which is capable to do both - measuring self-stigma among people with all mental disorders and among people with physical health issues.

The rationale of use of deep yoga breathing as adjuvant treatment to COVID-19 disease , is linked to the mechanical action to stimulate the vagus nerve through scalene and sternocleidomastoid muscles function of which the continuity of action bring to modulate upto suppress, the inflammatory reflex and pro-inflammatory cytokines overproduction and contextual lowering of the sympathetic stress response as a first cause of sleep and late mental disorders which can increase the annual suicide rate. An easily breathing medical Yoga protocol has been developed to test a cost-effective care provision, training, contact tracing and mass efficacy testing.
