NCT ID: NCT03398356 Completed - PreDiabetes Clinical Trials

Metformin and Its Impact on the Substances Associated With NO Production in Prediabetes Patients.

Start date: October 20, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates the effect of different doses of metformin on the function of endothelium in people with pre-diabetes. One group of the patients will receive metformin in dose: 1500 mg, the second one will receive 3000 mg/day. The parameters from healthy volunteers will be taken only at the study beginning to compare the test results with the parameters from patients with pre-diabetes. This group will be not treated with metformin (no intervention)

NCT ID: NCT02969798 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Pre-diabetes in Subject With Impaired Fasting Glucose (IFG) and Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT)

Start date: January 1, 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

HYPOTHESIS: Impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and impaired fasting glucose (IFG) have distinct pathophysiologic etiologies. Therefore, therapeutic interventions designed to correct the specific underlying pathogenic abnormalities in IGT and IFG will be required to optimally prevent the progressive beta cell failure and development of overt type 2 diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT02287402 Completed - Clinical trials for Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT)

Postmarketing Clinical Study on AO-128

Start date: March 2010
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of open-label study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of AO-128 (Voglibose) 0.6 mg/day in patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) who had been non-responsive to diet therapy and exercise therapy, and follow up the progress after the end of treatment in patients who was assessed as normoglycemic.

NCT ID: NCT01588418 Completed - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Acute Effect of Exenatide on Brain Glucose Metabolism

Start date: July 2010
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This research study will examine brain glucose metabolism after an overnight fast to determine the effect of exenatide on brain glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism.

NCT ID: NCT00787215 Active, not recruiting - Diabetes Clinical Trials

A Survey on the Rate of Glucose Intolerance in Hong Kong Chinese

Start date: November 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Hypothesis: There is a high rate of glucose intolerance among Hong Kong Chinese. The investigators plan to screen Hong Kong Chinese from the community with oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). The subjects will be referred from GP centers in the community and self-referred with public advertisement on this survey.
