Investigating the Role of Energy Balance Modification on Health Responses in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia

HIT-CLL
Start date: October 14, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomised control clinical trial aims to investigate the effects of exercise training and diet on physical and functional fitness and immunological and metabolic changes in adults with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Investigators will randomise participants to either 12 weeks of supervised/semi-supervised exercise only, exercise + nutritional guidance, or no exercise.

NCT ID: NCT06325969 Recruiting - Metformin Clinical Trials

PCOS Patients Immune Status Evaluation

Start date: March 16, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this study, the investigators will include PCOS patients and healthy women who meet the trial criteria from the clinical research centers of 3 hospitals, introduce the content of this study to participants, and invite participants to participate. Flow cytometry was used to detect the immune function of peripheral blood samples of PCOS patients, to clarify the immune function characteristics of PCOS patients, and to try to establish an evaluation method of the immune function of PCOS patients.

NCT ID: NCT06325956 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

PCOS Immune Function Predicts Metformin Efficacy

Start date: March 16, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, the investigators will include PCOS patients who meet the trial criteria, introduce participants to the content of this study, and invite participants to participate. The immune function of peripheral blood samples of PCOS patients was detected by flow cytometry. Participants were further treated with metformin for 6 months and followed up after the intervention. The objective of this study was to investigate immune markers related to the efficacy of metformin in PCOS patients and to predict the efficacy of metformin in PCOS patients using immune function.

NCT ID: NCT06203249 Recruiting - Microbiome Clinical Trials

Microecology and Immunity in Patients With Anti-MDA5 Antibody Positive Dermatomyositis and Interstitial Lung Disease

Start date: January 20, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the microbial community, host immunity and the presence or absence of concurrent rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease patients with anti-MDA5 antibody positive dermatomyositis.

NCT ID: NCT05632341 Recruiting - Immune Function Clinical Trials

GCWB1176 Evaluates the Effectiveness and Safety of Immune Function

Start date: January 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This human application test was planned to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of immunodefinition compared to the placebo when the GCWB1176 was consumed for those whose white blood cell level was normal or somewhat decreased.

NCT ID: NCT05570552 Recruiting - Immune Function Clinical Trials

1/2- Bangladesh Center for Global Environmental and Occupational Health- Bangladesh

GEOHealth-II
Start date: June 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Almost 3 billion people worldwide, including 89% people in Bangladesh, are exposed to harmful household air pollutants (HAP) emitted from combustion of biomass (wood, agricultural residue, cow dung, etc.) fuel use for cooking. While health risks associated with air-pollution have been reasonably well-studied in developed countries, there is little evidence on health benefits achievable by HAP reduction through clean fuel use, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Earlier the investigators showed that Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) for 24 months, reduced personal PM2.5 exposure by 58.17 percent which induced novel changes in immune and inflammatory responses in the participants; however cardiopulmonary markers remained relatively stable in post-intervention assessment. In this study, the investigators aim to evaluate the effects of mobile phone based (mHealth) Behavioural Change Communication (BCC) intervention on adoption and exclusive use of LPG. The investigators also aimed to observe whether long-term effects of HAP reduction can impact the subclinical measures of cardio-vascular and pulmonary dysfunction and regulate innate and inflammatory immune function among women and children in semi-rural settings in Bangladesh. The investigators will also investigate the influence of exposure to HAP on antibody response to vaccines (adaptive immunity). The BCC intervention will be provided by conducting a large household level randomized controlled trial by educational intervention using mHealth based technology. In addition, the investigators will continue following the cohort and will conduct rigorous and repeated personalized (24 hours) and area (over 5 days) assessments of PM2.5 and black carbon (BC) exposure to examine the long-term effects of HAP reduction on subclinical measures of cardio-pulmonary and immune dysfunction including effect of HAP exposure on antibody response to vaccine.

NCT ID: NCT05510050 Completed - Microbiome Clinical Trials

Comparison Study of Manapol and DaltonMax on Immune Function, Microbiome, and Related Variables in Men and Women

Start date: May 13, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The present study will compare the effect of Manapol to DaltonMax on select measures of health. Currently, both ingredients are sold both as a stand-alone dietary supplement and as an active ingredient within various multi-nutrient products. Immune function will be assessed using blood samples to determine white blood cell counts and distributions, and cytokine levels with/without lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenge. Additionally, effects specific to antioxidant function and glucose regulation, glucose, insulin, lipid peroxidation, and advanced oxidation protein products will be observed. Antioxidant capacity will also be measured. as well as completion of weekly questionnaires regarding gut health, and microbiome analysis.

NCT ID: NCT05297825 Completed - Inflammation Clinical Trials

Twins Nutrition Study (TwiNS): Vegan vs. Omnivore

TwiNS
Start date: March 17, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is designed to investigate the health impact of a vegan diet compared to a usual, omnivorous diet. The investigators plan to study these diets in twins, where one twin follows a vegan diet and the other twin follows an omnivorous diet, thus the investigators control for genetic differences that might impact the effect of the diet.

NCT ID: NCT05123612 Active, not recruiting - Inflammation Clinical Trials

Maternal & Offspring Microbiome Study

MOMS
Start date: January 12, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to learn how different dietary interventions affect microbiota diversity in pregnant women and the transmission of microbiota to their infants during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

NCT ID: NCT04960878 Completed - Gut Microbiota Clinical Trials

The Effect of Synbiotics on the Upper Respiratory Tract Infection

Start date: October 5, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Gut microbiome manipulation to alter the gut-lung axis may potentially protect humans against respiratory infections. However, clinical trials of synbiotics, one of the microbiota-targeted intervention, in this regard is few. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of synbiotics on the incidence and severity of upper respiratory tract infection, gut microbiota composition and function, as well as biomarkers of immune function.
