Filter by:In a previous study the efficacy of Lb CD2 on interim covariates related to caries development was tested. So, it was decided to plan a new study on schoolchildren from the same area. The aim of the present research protocol was to evaluate the anticariogenic effect of probiotics daily used, on the caries development in children. The null hypothesis was that the probiotic Lb CD2 would not modify the caries risk of the children. Moreover, the study will be carried out to investigate the plaque acidogenicity in situ following the regular consumption of a probiotic product compared to a control group. Objective: To determine the effect of a regularly consumed probiotic on the development of new caries lesions. Study design: Double blind, placebo-controlled, longitudinal study, monocentric, national, in situ
The aim of this study is to compare subject gingival health after 6 weeks of twice daily use of a non-alcohol or alcohol containing mouthrinse and brushing compared to brushing only.
Characterization of green propolis and development of mouthwash containing propolis to control plaque and gingivitis. A Phase I.
In the current study, Sonicare AirFloss (AF) will be used in combination with a Manual Toothbrush (MTB) in a population of manual toothbrush users who are irregular flossers and who exhibit signs of moderate gingivitis. The alternate test arm will be allocated to a No Intervention group and will be given no test products or instruction other than to change none of their typical at home oral hygiene habits. The aim of this study is to investigate how an AF and MTB oral hygiene intervention will affect a population of irregular flossers using the residual protein concentration method as an interproximal plaque efficacy assessment. Gingivitis reduction will be assessed using the Modified Gingival Index (MGI) and Gingival Bleeding Index (GBI) indices
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been seen as the predominant way of treating disease in China over three thousand years. Certain TCM have scientifically proved to have anti-bacterial property. Patients having orthodontic treatment have higher risks of caries and gum diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of TCM Mouthrinses in addition to toothbrushing and flossing has an added benefit for orthodontic patients in maintaining proper oral health.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the frequency of oral hygiene in the maintenance of gingival health in patients with an adequate method of oral hygiene.
The aim of the present research protocol was to evaluate the effect of probiotics daily used, on the plaque acidogenicity of children. The null hypothesis was that the plaque acidogenicity would remain unchanged and not associate with the use of probiotics. Moreover, the in situ study will be carried out to investigate the plaque formation as biofilm in demineralised enamel specimens following the regular consumption of a probiotic product compared to a control group. Metabolic of the biofilm formed on of the enamel specimens resulting from the consumption will be evaluated over a period of 8 weeks.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy (Eastman Interdental Bleeding Index, Quigley and Hein) of a novel metal-free interdentalbrush compared to a classig metal-core interdental brush.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of three times a day mastication, during a follow-up period of 4 weeks, of two sugar-substituted chewing gums on various factors associated with dental caries and gingivitis.
The purpose of this research study is to investigate water flow in dental devices and to understand the function of water flow behind oral hygiene improvements. Understanding this mechanism may help with the design of future products.
