NCT ID: NCT06291129 Active, not recruiting - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Gingival Health and Malocclusion Among Type 1 Diabetic Children and Adolescents

Start date: October 30, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Introduction: This study aims to evaluate the gingivitis, periodontal profile and malocclusion in children and adolescents with diabetes. Methods: The sample consisted of 36 children, who were distributed into two groups: DM; n=18 and NDM; n=18. Periodontal parameters considered were plaque Index (PI), gingival Index (GI), probing depth of pocket (PPD), gingival recession (GR) and clinical attachment level (CAL). Gingival biotype clinical parameters: Gingival transparency to probing, Height of keratinized mucosa and Gingival thickness on permanent incisors and molars. Malocclusion were evaluated by the Dental Aesthetic Index (DAI) and the Angle's Classification. The statistical analyses were Shapiro Wilk test and T test.

NCT ID: NCT06244303 Active, not recruiting - Gingivitis Clinical Trials

Clinical Research Study to Assess the Efficacy of Two Brushing Regimens in the Reduction of Established Dental Plaque and Gingivitis.

Start date: January 22, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Qualified subjects will be enrolled and randomized to one of the two study groups based on their initial Plaque and Gingivitis scores. Subjects will be instructed to use the products according to the instructions provided. Subjects will return to the dental office for evaluation after 1-, 3-, 6-, and 12-weeks of unsupervised product use at home. All subjects will be followed for adverse events throughout the study

NCT ID: NCT06075680 Active, not recruiting - Periodontitis Clinical Trials

Effect of Periodontal Treatment on Inflammasome Proteins in Periodontal Diseases

Start date: March 4, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The present study aimed to assess the effect of non-surgical periodontal treatment on serum and salivary IL-1beta, IL-18, NLRP3, ASC and Caspase-1 levels in gingivitis and Stage III Grade C periodontitis. 15 periodontally healthy, 15 gingivitis and 15 Stage III Grade C periodontitis patients were enrolled. At baseline, serum and saliva samples were collected and the whole mouth clinical periodontal parameters were recorded. Periodontitis and gingivitis patients received non-surgical periodontal treatment. Clinical parameters were re-measured and samples were re-collected at 1 and 3 months after treatment. Serum and salivary protein levels were analyzed by ELISA. Data were analyzed using appropriate statistical tests.

NCT ID: NCT05217277 Active, not recruiting - Gingivitis Clinical Trials

Clinical and Biochemical Evaluation of Dental and Periodontal Conditions in Children With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Start date: May 6, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Aimed to be done in the planned thesis to evaluate the dental and periodontal health of patients with newly diagnosed JIA and healthy-periodontal problems with cytokines from saliva and oxidative stress markers non-invasively, and thus, to determine the markers' evaluability in terms of markers in determining the state of inflammation among individuals with and without the disease.

NCT ID: NCT03281109 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Menstrual Cycle-Associated Gingivitis

The Effect of Menstrual Cycle On IL-6, TNF-α And Periodontal Status

Start date: July 26, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Aim: Women's menstrual cycle is controlled by the secretion of sex hormones. Sex steroid hormones are thought to be affect to periodontal tissues, wound healing, periodontal disease progression and bone turn over. The aim the study is to evaluate clinical periodontal parameters and interleukin- 6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) levels in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) in menstrual cycle. Material and methods: Twenty-five patients were included in this study clinical periodontal parameters and levels of IL-6 and TNF α in gingival crevicular fluid were evaluated at three periods of menstrual cycle (menstruation day (MD)-ovulation day(OD)-premenstruation day (PmD)). Levels of IL-6 and TNF α in gingival crevicular fluid were determined by ELISA.

NCT ID: NCT03099551 Active, not recruiting - Gingivitis Clinical Trials

Randomized Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy of Two Different Toothbrushes on Plaque Control

Start date: December 2016
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of two different toothbrushes (manual and sonic) on plaque control

NCT ID: NCT02958891 Active, not recruiting - Gingivitis Clinical Trials

Dental Health Epidemiology Among Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Recruits

Start date: March 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

An epidemiological survey for prevalence description of dental morbidity (caries, gingivitis, dental trauma and fluorosis) among Israel Defense Forces (IDF) general recruits. Morbidity measures were collected from 700 recruits at their first day of military service in order to evaluate extent and burden of dental diseases among recruits. The data will enable the military dental services commanders to plan and implement dental services according to the dental needs.
