Filter by:This study evaluates de efficacy of 5Hz repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) applied on the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in patients with binge eating disorder.
This study will test the efficacy of naltrexone HCI and bupropion HCI (NB) versus placebo in patients with binge-eating disorder (BED), with or without obesity.
The protective effect of mother's milk and colostrum on oropharyngeal cavity is not achievable with gavage feeding. This may be increase the risk of colonization of the oropharyngeal cavity with pathogenic bacteria and subsequent increase in the risk of neonatal sepsis. We aim to study the impact of Oropharyngeal Administration of Mother's Milk (OPAMM) before gavage feeding on clinical outcome, bacterial colonization of the GIT of preterm infants with pathogenic bacteria. We also aim to study the immune-protective effect of OPAMM on the incidence of nosocomial sepsis.
This study should lead to the validation of the concept of the autoAc directed against the neuropeptides involved in food intake regulation.
This research project seeks to acquire a deeper understanding of the complex influences of common factors and specific ingredients in psychotherapy. By using frequent process-outcome measures, it will address individualized mechanisms of change in psychotherapy by assessing both between and within patient change processes, using a wide spectrum of change indicators.
Although psychotherapy for eating disorders (EDs) can be effective, approximately 50% of those who complete a course of the best available therapy continue to have significant ED symptoms at the end of treatment. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) commonly co-occurs with EDs and is thought to be one reason why some individuals do not remit from their ED with best available treatment or relapse following treatment. In particular, ED behaviours can function as coping methods for PTSD symptoms, and thus interfere with successful and lasting ED recovery. The main objective of this initial treatment trial is to determine whether a concurrent treatment approach, in which PTSD symptoms are treated at the same time as ED symptoms, provides an advantage over standard ED treatment by successfully alleviating PTSD symptoms. Forty participants who have both an ED and PTSD will be assigned to receive either (1) standard ED psychotherapy alone or (2) standard ED psychotherapy concurrent with PTSD psychotherapy. After treatment, participants will be followed for a period of 6 months to determine whether improvements made during therapy are maintained after treatment. ED and PTSD symptoms, as well as concomitant symptoms (e.g., anxiety and depression) will be assessed immediately before and after treatment, as well as 3 and 6 months after treatment.
Breast milk is an extremely complex and highly variable biofliud that has evolved to nourish infants and protect them from disease whilst their own immune system matures. The composition of human breast milk changes in response to many factors, matching the infants requirement according to its age and other characteristics.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) for patients who have had bariatric surgery on their weight and mental and physical health compared to patients who do not do this group. All participants will complete questionnaires evaluating eating and mental health before and after the group and 6 and 12 months later. They will have blood pressure readings at these times and complete a questionnaire about their digestive health. Our hypothesis is that participants will maintain their weight loss after bariatric surgery and have improvements in the other outcomes.
This study is to examine whether the efficacy of DBT for BN is comparable with drug treatment, whether short-term and long-term efficacy of DBT combined with drug treatment of BN is better than single DBT or single drug treatment, and trying to explore predictable biological indicators of short-term and long-term efficacy of DBT for BN. Our study will use multi-center randomized controlled study design. 165 outpatients with BN will be recruited from Shanghai Mental Health Center, No.6 Hospital of Peking University and Shanghai Tongji Hospital. There will be three groups: DBT treatment group, Fluoxetine treatment group, DBT combined with fluoxetine treatment group. We prepare to recruit 165 patients with BN ,and each group is 55, and then three groups will be given standard intervention for 12 weeks. To assess the eating disorder symptoms, impulsive and emotional change, clinical symptom scales, psychological scales and the security indexs will be used at baseline, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks (end of treatment), 16weeks(1 month after treatment),24 weeks (3 months after treatment) and 36 weeks (6 months after treatment follow-up). Furthermore, brain MRI will be used for DBT treatment group at baseline, and 36 weeks.
