Filter by:Primary Objective: • To collect post-approval safety data related to intraocular pressure (IOP) after one or more injections of Iluvien as standard of care in subjects with diabetic macular edema (DME). Secondary Objectives: • To collect visual and anatomic outcome data after one or more injections of Iluvien as standard of care in subjects with diabetic macular edema (DME).
The purpose of this study is to determine whether atorvastatin 80mg can reduce the development of myocardial edema following coronary artery bypass surgery. This study also want to determine: 1. whether atorvastatin 80mg can influence Follistatin-like 1 (FSTL1) plasma level following bypass surgery? 2. whether there is correlation between myocardial edema and FSTL1 plasma level? 3. the efficacy of atorvastatin 80mg compared to atorvastatin 10mg in reducing hs-CRP (high sensitive-C reactive protein) and MDA (malondialdehyde) plasma level following bypass surgery? 4. the efficacy of atorvastatin 80mg compared to atorvastatin 10mg in raising PKA and PKB plasma level following bypass surgery?
The purpose of the study is to compare the effect of intravitreal injections of ranibizumab and aflibercept on systemic VEGF levels in DME patients in a detailed time course.
Diabetic retinopathy(DR) is a sight threatening condition that occurs in persons with diabetes. DR arises as a consequence of damage to the retinal blood vessels and is related to the high and fluctuating sugar levels in the blood stream. An eye with DR will have abnormal appearing retinal blood vessels which become engorged and dilated, leaky and fragile or undergo closure. The net result is a picture of haemorrhage and or ischaemia (lack of blood supply). A particular feature of DR is the accumulation of fluid in the macula which is the central part of the retina and responsible for detailed eye sight. This peculiar form of DR is called Diabetic Macular Oedema (DMO). DMO can occur in isolation without other features of DR. DMO is commoner in type 2 diabetes where insulin resistance and abnormalities of blood fats are found. The investigators wish to study DR and DMO using high resolution retinal imaging and functional tests in normal participants, those participants with diabetes without any overt signs of disease and those with DR and DMO in order to understand how the condition develops and whether there are any unique risk factors that can be identified
This randomized phase II trial studies how well carboplatin and paclitaxel with or without panitumumab work in treating patients with invasive triple negative breast cancer. Drugs used in the chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping the them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as panitumumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving carboplatin and paclitaxel with or without panitumumab before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed.
This a non-interventional retrospective study on the efficiency and the tolerance of intravitreal injections of Aflibercept on vitrectomized eyes in the diabetic macular oedema
The purpose of this study is to determine whether high flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) therapy is non inferior to non invasive ventilation (NIV) in the immediate treatment of patients with acute hypercapnic cardiogenic pulmonary edema associated with respiratory failure in the emergency department.
To evaluate the safety and tolerability of LKA651 in patients with macular edema from diabetic macular edema (DME), neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD), or retinal vein occlusions (RVO)
The primary objective of Part 1 of the study is to determine if BIIB093 improves functional outcome at Day 90 as measured by the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) when compared with placebo in participants with Large Hemispheric Infarction (LHI). The secondary objectives of Part 1 of the study are to determine if BIIB093 improves overall survival at Day 90 when compared with placebo, if BIIB093 improves functional outcome at Day 90 on the mRS dichotomized 0-4 vs. 5-6 when compared with placebo, if BIIB093 reduces midline shift at 72 hours (or at time of decompressive craniectomy [DC] or comfort measures only [CMO], if earlier) when compared with placebo, and to evaluate the safety and tolerability of BIIB093 in participants with LHI. The objectives of Part 2 of the study are to evaluate long-term disability following LHI, to evaluate long-term outcome measures of clinical function, quality of life, and healthcare utilization, and to assess the safety of BIIB093 in subjects with LHI during the follow-up period.
Acute pulmonary edema (APE) is a common condition in the emergency room, associated with considerable mortality. The use of intravenous morphine in the treatment of APE remains controversial and Benzodiazepines have been suggested as an alternative for morphine to relieving dyspnoea and anxiety in the patients with APE. The MIdazolan versus MOrphine in APE trial (MIMO) is a multicenter, prospective, open-label, randomized study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of morphine in patients with APE.
