View clinical trials related to Depressive Disorder.
Filter by:The Investigators are conducting a research study to learn about the safety and benefit of using a medication called buprenorphine for patient with difficult to treat depression . This research study is testing whether combining two medications will be effective in treating depression when initial treatment with just one antidepressant does not relieve the depressive symptoms ; this is what is called " difficult to treat depression " or " treatment resistant depression ". The two medication the investigators are using are " an anti-depressant medication called venlafaxine XR ( the generic form of Effexor ) and buprenorphine . Buprenorphine is a medication that is FDA approved for the treatment of opioid dependence. The investigators are testing whether adding buprenorphine to venlafaxine enhances treatment response.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Integrative Medicine Group Visits (IMGV) are effective for treating patients with chronic pain and depression.
The aim of the study is to compare the effect of group-cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)versus treatment as usual with the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor sertraline, in patients with diagnosis of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and depressive disorder.
Can peer mentors be integrated into depression care to older adults with mental health professional supervision? We will assess whether peer mentors who are lay persons who are in recovery from depression can provide depression care services to older adults with depression. Older adults who are 50 and older will be screened for depression in the clinic and community. Those who meet criteria will be paired with a peer mentor for 8 meetings. Peer mentors will audiorecord their meetings with the patient and the recordings will be analyzed to assess what kinds of communication and behaviors the peer mentors engage in and what among those communications may be associated with relieving depression. The peer mentor will be trained and supervised by a psychiatrist and they will form a team to provide the depression care to the older adult. The study aims to relieve depressive symptoms and engage older adults in care. Both older adults and peer mentors wil be interviewed after the study to assess the strengths and weaknesses of peer mentor delivery of depression care. A manual will be developed describing the process and procedures of the study.
The purpose of this trial is to determine the short-term effect of a self-care intervention on depression in patients with age-related macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of a computerized cognitive training program (an attention and memory exercise performed on a computer) on thinking and memory in individuals with mood and anxiety disorders, and to begin to test whether this training affects symptoms of depression or anxiety.
Using neuroimaging, the investigator will study the effects of estrogen on mood and brain function in perimenopausal women either with or without depression.
The investigators propose to examine both resting state activity and functional activity during rumination and during self-processing to study the relationship between neural correlates of rumination/self-focus and self-processing in major depression and bipolar disorder.
Double Blinded Randomized Trial of eTNS as adjuvant treatment for Major Unipolar Depressive Disorder. The primary objective is to assess the safety and tolerability of eTNS (external trigeminal nerve stimulation) of the V1 branch of the trigeminal nerve as an adjunctive treatment for adult patients with the diagnosis of unipolar MDD (Major Depressive Disorder).
Double Blinded Randomized Trial of sTNS as adjuvant treatment for Major Unipolar Depressive Disorder. The primary objective is to assess the safety and tolerability of an implantable sTNS of the V1 branch of the trigeminal nerve as an adjunctive treatment for adult patients with the diagnosis of unipolar MDD (Major Depressive Disorder).
