Intraoral Cryotherapy in Root Canal Retreatment

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of intraoral cryotherapy application on postoperative pain in single and multiple visit retreatment of teeth with symptomatic or asymptomatic apical periodontitis. This clinical trial was also investigate the potential of intraoral cryotherapy application to reduce on postoperative analgesic use of patients in line with the results obtained. A total of 118 patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected for the study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups as single visit and multiple visit (n=59). Then, each group was randomly divided into three subgroups as control (without cryotherapy), 15 minutes of cryotherapy, and 30 minutes of cryotherapy. Twenty two teeth were retreated in each cryotherapy group and 15 teeth in each control group. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate and compare postoperative pain. Postoperative analgesic use of patients was also recorded.

Different Cold Application Times on Ecchmosis, Edema and Pain After Rhinoplasty

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of different cold application times with cold gel pads after rhinoplasty on eyelid edema, eye ecchymosis and pain. A total of 60 patients undergoing rhinoplasty were divided into two groups by simple randomization method. Cold application applied to short term group for 4 hours and to long term group for 48 hours. Cold application was applied around both eyes with cold gel pads for 20 minutes per hour. Pain was evaluated with the Visuel Analog Scale, ecchymosis with eyelid ecchymosis score, and edema with eye-edema score. Edema and ecchymosis were evaluated on the 1st and 4th hours and 2nd day. Pain conditions were evaluated before and after analgesics for 1, 4 hours and 2 times daily.

Cryoablation in Combination (or Not) With Pembrolizumab and Pemetrexed-carboplatin in 1st-line Treatment for Patients With Metastatic Lung Adenocarcinoma

This study aims to compare the one-year survival benefit of the association of cryoablation-pembrolizumab-pemetrexed-carboplatin versus pembrolizumab-pemetrexed-carboplatin in metastatic lung adenocarcinoma patients. This is a multicenter, prospective, open-labeled, 2-arm comparative randomized (1:1) phase III trial. Patients will be randomized with a 1:1 ratio into: - Arm A (experimental arm): cryoablation of one visceral lesion or bone metastasis excluding liver and sclerotic bone metastases combined with pembrolizumab and pemetrexed-carboplatin prescribed as per market authorization. - Arm B (standard arm): pembrolizumab and pemetrexed-carboplatin prescribed as per market authorization. Pembrolizumab and pemetrexed-carboplatin will be prescribed and administered at the dose recommended by market authorization. Cryoablation treatment should be performed within 6 weeks after the first administration of pembrolizumab. No treatment switching permitted.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of cryotherapy on the slimming of subcutaneous fat mass in the abdomen and saddlebags. Cryotherapy is a completely non-invasive method that induces a selective reduction of fat cells by localized and controlled cooling in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, inner knees, inner thighs, back and arms. Adipose tissue is composed of two types of tissue: white and brown adipose tissue. Studies have shown that exposure to cold induces an increase in the number of brown adipocytes (detected by PET/CT-scan) under the effect of the hormone irisin produced by the muscles. In addition, another study has shown that prolonged exposure to cold reduces the size of brown adipocytes leading to thermogenesis, suggesting that cold exposure may contribute to the control of obesity. The freezing technology of this cryotherapy unit allows the temperature of the subcutaneous adipose tissue to move almost instantaneously from -6°C to -10°C, gradually causing the reduction of subcutaneous adipose tissue.
