NCT ID: NCT05973734 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Islet Transplantation

Islet Transplantation With Recipient T-Reg Cells or Deceased Donor Vertebral Bone Marrow Therapy

Start date: October 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if patients who have brittle type 1 diabetes receiving an islet transplantation will have better control of their sugars if they also receive one of 2 types of immune cells along with the islet transplant. The participants will receive either their own immune cells, called regulatory T cells, or immune cells from the bone marrow of the islet donor.

NCT ID: NCT05973669 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Hearing Loss, Sensorineural

MED-EL Remote Care Multi-Center Feasibility Study

Start date: September 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

MED-EL Remote Care is a way for MED-EL cochlear implant users to check their hearing and cochlear implant device from any location, without the need for a scheduled, in-person appointment with their audiologist. This study will assess the effectiveness, efficiencies, and useability of MED-EL Remote Care.

NCT ID: NCT05973656 Recruiting - Fanconi Anemia Clinical Trials

Role of Acetaldehyde in the Development of Oral Cancer

Start date: July 8, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a minimal risk intervention study where healthy volunteers and individuals with Fanconi anemia will consume a single dose of alcohol and provide primarily non-invasive biological samples at various time points. Biospecimens to be collected include saliva, oral cells collected via mouthwash and cheek brush, and urine. The collection of two blood samples (5 mL each) will be optional and banked for future use.

NCT ID: NCT05973500 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Effect of Mediterranean Diet in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Start date: September 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The effects of diet on inflammatory bowel disease is an under-studied area of research. The investigators are interested in further investigating the role that diet contributes to inflammatory bowel disease severity. The investigators will collect blood and stool samples from patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) before and after diet changes. The stool samples will be analyzed using metabolomics and microbiome analysis to determine changes after the new diet has been implemented. The investigators will then compare changes in the patient's overall disease state by measuring markers of inflammation including C-reactive protein (CRP) and fecal calprotectin to determine how this diet affects the disease state.

NCT ID: NCT05973487 Recruiting - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

A Basket Study of Customized Autologous TCR-T Cell Therapies in Patients With Locally Advanced (Unresectable) or Metastatic Solid Tumors

Start date: May 6, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

TScan Therapeutics is developing cellular therapies across multiple solid tumors in which autologous participant-derived T cells are engineered to express a T cell receptor that recognizes cancer-associated antigens presented on specific Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) molecules. This is a multi-center, non-randomized, multi-arm, open-label, basket study evaluating the safety and preliminary efficacy of single and repeat dose regimens of TCR'Ts as monotherapies and as T-Plex combinations after lymphodepleting chemotherapy in participants with locally advanced, metastatic solid tumors disease.

NCT ID: NCT05973461 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Symptoms of Depression

Effects of Exercise and Virtual Reality on Depression

Start date: May 17, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is evaluating the effects of riding on a cycle ergometer while experiencing virtual reality to determine its effect on mood.

NCT ID: NCT05973448 Enrolling by invitation - Alzheimer Disease Clinical Trials

The Nightlight Falls Prevention Study

Start date: July 28, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This project will test the effectiveness of a novel intervention consisting of unobtrusive, low-intensity, horizontal and vertical lights that outline the bathroom or entry way doorframe in residents' rooms and provide visual cues to promote postural stability. Specifically, this pragmatic crossover trial will enroll 390 assisted living residents with dementia and follow them for one year, comparing the incidence of nighttime falls during the lighting condition to the incidence of falls during the control condition; secondarily, it will determine whether and to what extent the intervention effect is modified by resident- and environmental-level risk factors, and satisfaction with the lighting system.

NCT ID: NCT05973396 Completed - Muscle Weakness Clinical Trials

The Effects of Mental and Physical Fatigue to Force Production in Adults

Start date: July 18, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective is to investigate the correlation between physical and mental fatigue to lower extremity force production in adults to determine if there is an association of performance output that is inhibited by mental and physical stressors that mimic sport environments that can be further investigated to determine the importance of not only physical training and exercise for athletes, but also mental and cognitive exercises with physical task to enhance performance training and rehabilitation of individuals. In adults, how does physical and mental fatigue in combination compared to those who are just physically fatigued affect average peak height in performance of five CMJ with hands on hips.

NCT ID: NCT05973331 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

Prospective Validation of an EHR-based Pancreatic Cancer Risk Model

Start date: July 17, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this prospective observational cohort study is to validate a previously developed pancreatic cancer risk prediction algorith (the PRISM model) using electronic health records from the general population. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Will a pancreatic cancer risk model, developed on routine EHR data, reliably and accurately predict pancreatic cancer in real-time? - What is the average time from model deployment and risk prediction, to the date of pancreatic cancer development and what is the stage of pancreatic cancer at diagnosis? The risk model will be deployed on data from individuals eligible for the study. Each individual will be assigned a risk score and tracked over time to assess the model's discriminatory performance and calibration.

NCT ID: NCT05973123 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

BLOOM: Boldly Living outdOOrs for Mental Health

BLOOM
Start date: July 18, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In 2019, the Office of the California Surgeon General launched the ACEs Aware Initiative in collaboration with the California Department of Health Care Services. This ambitious campaign aims to develop a network of care model of healthcare delivery that explicitly links health resources within communities to clinicians screening patients for ACEs. The ACEs Aware Initiative recognizes nature experiences as one of seven "stress busters." Indeed, California boasts many outdoor resources for clinicians to integrate into the network of care. Through a calming effect on the autonomic nervous system, providing a setting for supportive relationships to develop and physical activity to occur, time in nature may help California prevent, heal and treat ACEs and the clinical sequelae. As one of the most common psychiatric disorders in youth, anxiety remains one of the most important sequelae of ACEs. There is a gap in evidence evaluating nature-based programs for child mental health. This study will evaluate BLOOM [Boldly Living outdOOrs for Mental health], a new intervention which is a modified version of an existing nature-based curriculum called SHINE (Stay Healthy In Nature Everyday) curriculum currently in place at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, which takes youth and their families into nature once a month for stress relief. This new intervention mirrors SHINE except that it will be tailored to children ages 9-12 with a history of ACEs and current anxiety. This study will evaluate the benefits of a group intervention model, an independent nature-outing model, and a comparison to a wait-listed control group. Our goal is to provide a scalable model for low-cost mental health care to the California Department of Health Care Services.
