NCT ID: NCT04814992 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Post-Surgical Pain

Pre-op Cognitive Behavior Therapy to Decrease Chronic Post-Surgical Pain in TKA

Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A significant number of patients develop chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP) following knee replacement surgery. Proposed is the testing of a novel computer-assisted behavioral intervention integrating motivational interviewing in the 4 weeks prior to surgery to address the risk factors for CPSP, with the expectation that severity of post-op pain and the incidence of CPSP will be reduced.

NCT ID: NCT04814927 Completed - Clinical trials for Mucosal Inflammation

Impact of Contraceptives on Cervico-Vaginal Mucosa

UMPALA
Start date: March 1, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

UMPALA is a research study to look at the effect of four different, approved contraceptives on the cervical and vaginal tissues as well as on factors in the blood. Participants will have a baseline examination then receive one of four approved, marketed contraceptive products. Cervico-vaginal assessments will take place 4 weeks after contraceptive initiation and 3 months after to assess changes in mucosal safety after use of various contraceptive products in young, healthy, HIV uninfected women.

NCT ID: NCT04814914 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

An Observational Clinical Study to Evaluate COVID-19 Symptoms in "Long Hauler" Patients Who Participated in K031-120 or K032-120

Start date: March 25, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This observational clinical study aims to evaluate the presence of symptoms of COVID-19 infection in patients who participated in K031-120 or K032-120 ("long hauler").

NCT ID: NCT04814823 Completed - Hypoxia Clinical Trials

Accuracy of Pulse Oximeters With Profound Hypoxia at Rest

NIHO13
Start date: March 24, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to determine the accuracy of devices called pulse oximeters, which measure blood oxygen by shining light through fingers, ears or other skin, without requiring blood sampling. Study will be used with patients at rest.

NCT ID: NCT04814602 Completed - Cirrhosis, Liver Clinical Trials

Single-dose PK Assessment of Oral Proglumide in Those With Hepatic Impairment

HIPK
Start date: March 30, 2021
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Proglumide is an oral cholecystokinin (CCK) receptor antagonist that has been shown in non-clinical studies to reverse hepatic fibrosis and decrease the incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Because of these potential beneficial properties, proglumide may be useful in decreasing the fibrosis and risk for HCC in those with cirrhosis. Although proglumide is safe in those with normal hepatic function, the pharmacokinetics have not been established in those that are hepatic impaired. The purpose of this study is to analyze proglumide blood levels and excretion in subjects with cirrhosis compared to health controls.

NCT ID: NCT04814537 Completed - Analgesia Clinical Trials

Optimal Bupivacaine Dose for Initiation of Labor Epidural Techniques

Start date: February 25, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To estimate the dose of bupivacaine required to achieve initial effective comfort in 90% of patients (ED90) via the epidural (DPE or EPL) technique in women undergoing labor.

NCT ID: NCT04814524 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Carcinoma

A Digital Intervention Protocol to Enhance Recovery After Head and Neck Surgery

Start date: July 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This trial studies examines the impact of virtual reality (VR) experiences and Fitbit wearable activity devices on postoperative recovery after head and neck surgery. Virtual reality has shown to help rehabilitation and pain control primarily in non-surgical fields, and researchers are interested in using this to help postoperative pain control. Early mobilization after surgery is also important, and may increase lung capacity, improve gastrointestinal function, reduce pain, and reduce risk of deep venous thrombosis. Use of virtual reality and Fitbit devices may improve postoperative pain control and reduce narcotic use among hospitalized patients after head and neck surgery.

NCT ID: NCT04814459 Completed - Fall Clinical Trials

Prevention Focused Home-Based Physical Therapy Utilizing Community Partnership Referrals

Start date: January 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This novel study supports the positive benefits of Home Based Older Persons Upstreaming Physical Therapy (HOP-UP-PT) to older adults identified as "at-risk" by their local senior center after participating in a prevention-focused multimodal program provided by physical therapists in their home.

NCT ID: NCT04814342 Completed - Hypoxia Clinical Trials

Accuracy of Pulse Oximeters With Profound Hypoxia During Motion

NIHO12
Start date: March 24, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to determine the accuracy of devices called pulse oximeters, which measure blood oxygen by shining light through fingers, ears or other skin, without requiring blood sampling. Study will be used with patients during controlled motion.

NCT ID: NCT04814277 Completed - Clinical trials for Software Evaluation for Visualizing Anatomical Structures Not Typically Identified on Clinical MR Images

Accuracy Evaluation of SIS Software-based Visualization of New Anatomical Brain Structure

Start date: October 26, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

SIS has developed a software technology, based on machine learning and image processing, designed to enhance standard clinical images for the visualization of anatomical structures.
