This is an open-label, single-dose study to evaluate the PK profile of the liquid SC formulation of BIO89-100 in approximately 8 male and female subjects with NASH with compensated cirrhosis.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of ocular images captured on 3 different cameras of patients with diabetic retinopathy. The study will determine whether diabetic retinopathy assessment is comparable between the cameras. The research is being done to see if a camera takes higher quality pictures over the other cameras. 60 participants will be enrolled into this study. Participants need to have diabetic eye disease. This is a one-time study visit that lasts approximately 1 hour.
This study performs the first clinical evaluation of the Gen 2 Imagio System in a clinical setting to assess image quality with both the IUS ultrasound only probe and the OA/US (duplex probe).
The goal of this project is to further develop and evaluate a computerized cognitive-training program designed to extend older adults' functional independence and reduce accidental falls (i.e., reduce factors that contribute to fall risk; including cognitive abilities/executive functions). This intervention may benefit a large population of vulnerable older adults with elevated fall risk and lack of long-term viable treatment options.
The United States (U.S.) is the country with the largest number of infections and deaths due to COVID- 19 and racial/ethnic minorities are disproportionately affected. Acceptance and uptake of COVID-19 vaccines will be instrumental to ending the pandemic. To this end, 2VIDA! (SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine Intervention Delivery for Adults in Southern California) is a multilevel intervention to address individual, social, and contextual factors related to access to, and acceptance of, the COVID-19 vaccine by implementing and assessing a COVID-19 vaccination protocol among Latino and African American (AA) adults (>18 years old) in San Diego. 2VIDA! builds on our previous CBPR efforts and centers on conducting COVID-19 Individual awareness and education, linkages to medical and supportive services, and Community Outreach and Health Promotion in the intervention sites (Phase 1); and offering the COVID-19 vaccine to Latino and AA adults (>18 years old) in federally-qualified health centers and pop-up vaccination stations in communities highly impacted by the pandemic and identifying individual and structural barriers to COVID-19 immunization (Phase 2).
Patients who start home dialysis take on an added responsibility and that can be challenging. The investigators are interested in studying the patient and care partner perspective on the challenges that the participants faced on home dialysis and what interventions could help support them better by holding focus group discussions.
Guidelines advocate several complementary modalities as alternatives to drugs and other invasive treatments for chronic low back pain (LBP) conditions. However, there is little high-quality research investigating treatments for back-related leg pain, one of the more severe and disabling presentations of LBP. The investigators are conducting a pilot study to assess the feasibility of a future phase II multi-site randomized clinical trial (RCT). The future trial will assess the comparative effectiveness of a novel supported biopsychosocial self-management (SBSM) intervention versus Medical Care (MC).
This multi-center, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, dose-range-finding clinical trial (with an optional Extension comprised of an Extension Double-blind (DB) Lead in Period followed by an Extension Open-label (OL) Period) that will assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of PRAX 944 in participants aged 18 years or older who have a diagnosis of Essential Tremor (ET) and have had symptoms for at least 3 years.
This is a 2-part clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of 40 and 120 mg oral PRAX-944 compared to placebo in the treatment of adults with essential tremor. Part A is designed to study the dose titration from 20 to 40 mg every morning (QAM) (ie, 2 weeks with 7 days at each dose level). Part B is designed to study the dose titration from 20 to up to 120 mg QAM with at least 14 days of dosing at the highest tolerated dose for each participant. Blood levels of PRAX-944 will also be measured throughout the trial and pharmacokinetics will be evaluated.
The study design is a prospective, multicenter, observational, single-arm post-approval study using data collected in the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR®) CathPCI Registry®.
