The ATTEMPT (Adolescent Type 1 diabetes Treatment with SGLT2i for hyperglycEMia & hyPerfilTration Trial) is a multi-center, double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trial to evaluate the effect of treatment with Dapagliflozin when compared to placebo, in combination with adjustable insulin, on measured GFR in adolescents with T1D 12 to <19 years of age over a 16-week treatment period.

Inflammation of the plantar fascia is known as plantar fasciitis and is commonly seen in active or overweight individuals. It can be treated via conservative or surgical therapies. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy has shown promise in the treatment of plantar fasciitis. Several studies have compared the effects of different types of extracorporeal shockwave therapy (radial and focused) with other forms of conservative treatment in patients with chronic plantar fasciitis. No study has yet compared the effect of radial vs. focused shockwave therapy on pain in this population.
The purpose of this research study is to learn more about the use of viral specific T-lymphocytes (VSTs) to treat viral infections that may happen after solid organ transplant (SOT). VSTs are cells specially designed to fight viral infections that may happen after a solid organ transplant. These cells are created from a blood sample collected from the study participant. Solid organ transplant and the use of immunosuppressive medications reduces the body's ability to fight infections. Viral infections are a common problem after transplant and can cause significant complications. Reduction of immunosuppression may put the organ at risk of rejection. Moreover, treatment of viral infections is expensive and time consuming, with families often administering prolonged treatments with intravenous anti-viral medications, or patients requiring prolonged admissions to the hospital. The medicines can also have side effects like damage to the kidneys or reduction in the blood counts, so in this study the investigators are trying to find a better way to treat these infections and minimize complications.
Clinical symptoms that are often found to be comorbid with pediatric chronic pain include anxiety, depression as well as increased stress, obesity, and decreased physical conditioning. Integrative therapies have been increasingly offered at children's hospitals as part of an integrated approach to treatment. Limited research exits on the efficacy of mind-body practices (e.g., yoga) utilized in conjunction with evidenced-based non-pharmacological treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to treat pediatric pain. Hence, this 7-week interventional pilot study was conducted to evaluate the impact of combining yoga and CBT for both pediatric patients with chronic pain and their caregivers.
Prior to Amendment #7: The hypothesis of this study is that the combination of cabiralizumab and nivolumab with neoadjuvant chemotherapy will decrease tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) and increase tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) compared to neoadjuvant chemotherapy plus nivolumab in patients with early stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and improve clinical outcomes. As of Amendment #7 IRB approved 10/13/2022: The study will no longer enroll to Arm B. Cabiralizumab will no longer be given. The hypothesis of this study is that on-treatment tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) and tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) will improve (reduced TAMs, increased TILs) following neoadjuvant nivolumab with chemotherapy.
This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability, drug levels, molecular effects, and clinical activity of MRTX849 in combination with TNO155 in patients with advanced solid tumors that have a KRAS G12C mutation.
The purpose of this trial is to assess the impact of a 12-week remote dietitian supervised dietary and physical activity weight loss intervention and mobile app for patients with morbid obesity prior to undergoing total joint arthroplasty of the hip or knee. The hypothesis is that that the intervention will result in: 1) greater weight loss than usual care, 2) a higher percentage of patients eligible to undergo surgery by having a body mass index (BMI) below the standard cutoff of 40 kg/m2, and 3) a higher percentage of patients undergoing surgery within six months of study enrollment.
The purpose of this pilot study is to evaluate whether a decrease in endometrial thickness (compaction) prior to progesterone exposure (endogenous or exogenous) to the day before a single frozen embryo transfer has an impact on the clinical pregnancy rate with euploid embryos in exogenous hormone and modified natural thaw cycles. Information derived from this study may give insight on ways to improve pregnancy rates in cryo-thaw cycles.
